- Sigma 18-35mm on the Canon R6 For Video is a video where I showcase the amazing Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 ART series lens on the Canon R6. I shot this entirely in Canon log3 and color graded. These two are a fantastic combination that work amazing with log footage.
Hi Folks! I'm trying to learn color grading and a new software, so I probably have some edit mistakes in this video. Non the less, this lens and camera combination is amazing! The Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 performs as well as any $1500-$2000 lens for video on the R6.
So loaded background music 😮
Good morning, partner, a question, does the Sigma 18 - 35 1.8 work with the R6, does the high frame rate?
Do you have the 35mm rf 1.8? I was debating between these two,I am planning to get the rf 35mm f1.8 of the RF Lenses, I already have this lens and I feel it isn't really sharp and I really hate using cropped mode on full frame as it kinda defeats the purpose of owning the FF R6, between this and rf 35mm 1.8 if there a noticeable difference in quality? I never shoot C-log but Still I felt the quality is a bit little unsharp in my 4k monitor, unlike the current 16mm rf and 24-70 sigma Art f2.8 I have, the sharpness of 18-35sigma is really like 80% compared to them, I just haven't seen a comparison betwen 18-35mm f1.8 sigma and rf 35mm 1.8 on their image quality, anyhow thanks for this video.
Are you still able to shoot 4K60?
I believe so. I don't think thats effected by the lens.
I want buy best camera for video what camera best? 90d, R. ,R10, R 8 , R6 R5,
Please tell
Love your videos Aaron. Was there any distortion using the R6 please?
No distortion, probably because it automatically crops the image when using any crop sensor lens. So it's not a true 18mm. It's actually a 28mm equivalent when you factor in the crop.
What adapter do you have
The standard Canon adapter.
I went to the R6 from the 90D+Sigma 18-35. I still got it, but I prefer the full frame lenses.
I can understand your love to that lens and I share it too. Hopefully there will be a nice lens to upgrade one day.
I was pretty devastated when I bought the 6dMKii a few years ago and realized I couldn't use the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8. Then I got the 90D and of course it was amazing on that camera. And it's built to last, I think it's a steal at the $600-$750 price brand new.
@@FitsandFun when You put this lens on R6II, is there a crop, or some limitations?
The R6 automatically crops with this lens. But the picture and autofocus is excellent.
@@FitsandFunand You can shot in 50fps, because on Canon R You can not shot in higher fps with crop lens?
tnx!
@@FitsandFun could you share some insights on the photography side? I'm thinking of upgrading from my 800D and I as well don't want to leave my 18-35 // 50-100 behind so was considering an R7, but quality is just not there compared to R6/R6mkII. Do you think it's doable doing photography with this combo you showing us?
does ur R6 overheat?
Yes, it has 3 times. While filming outdoors and switching from photo to video after about an hour. But it hasn't indoors. And it didn't this past summer at all.
@@FitsandFun after how many mins do u get overheating warning? Since ur cam didn't overheat this past summer, did you update the cam with latest firmware?
I updated it a while ago. I think there's a new update that I haven't gotten yet. But I have to use it off and on for photo and video for about an hour before it overheats. It never overheats shooting my UA-cam vids indoors. And I just shot a wedding with it and went 12 hours straight and through 4 batteries with no issues. But that was strictly photos.
@@FitsandFun Usually it overheats during videos ... especially at
4k 60
Yeah, I don't shoot 4k@60. So It hasn't been an issue for me.
Hi, does the r6 automatically switch to crop mode when you use 18-35? Can u deactivate it?
It does. And I haven't figured out how to deactivate it. Not sure if it's possible.
@@FitsandFun so if it switches to crop mode does it make really good walk around lens? I am looking to upgrade from crop sensor to Canon R6 mark II and researching what to get for a light walk around lens equivalent to 24 mm on crop so 35mm or 40 mm, or would my 24mm EF-S pancake lens had a crop so I could carry over that? I have 24 -70 mm Tamron f2.8 but I am afraid it is going to be too heavy for all day out
I use the Canon 24-70 f2.8 as my walk around lens.
By far my favorite lens, just purchasrd the R6 Markii waiting on my adapter cant wait to use it, only thing i dont like on the sigma is the noise auto focus makes
I have the canon adapter and when I change the aperture with the 18-35, it’s really loud- same for your r6m2?
