How to: HOMEMADE SOFRITO AND SPANISH STYLE YELLOW RICE

    Hey there! So this video you will see the full tutorial on how to make homemade Sofrito and my version of Spanish Yellow Rice!! Yum Yum:-)

    Sofrito prep and prepare 0:01 - 5:20
    Rice making begins: 5:25
    Ingredients used:
    HOMEMEADE SOFRITO* OR BUY STORE BOUGHT: go.magik.ly/ml/...
    2 green bell peppers
    1 red bell pepper
    1 head of garlic
    1 bunch cilantro
    1/2 bunch parsley
    4 small onions or 2 large (I used sweet onions)
    2 medium tomatoes
    YELLOW RICE*
    medium grain white rice (Goya)
    sofrito
    sazon (makes rice yellow) go.magik.ly/ml/...
    salt
    pepper
    green Spanish olives with pimentos

    I used to make sofrito using the exact same food processor you have and always took like 30 minutes to wash, peel, chop everything small enough to fit into the processor, puree it in batches and then freeze it (but instead of an ice cube tray, I spoon some sofrito into some plastic wrap, twist it into a ball and freeze a bunch of seasoning balls which I microwave thaw as needed.
    Then I got a larger food processor online for like $25/$30 and suddenly, no more chopping, you can make it all in one batch and it's cut my sofrito prep time in half. A real time saver. Believe me, it's worth getting a larger food processor.

    you can put it in ice cube trays... once frozen put in ziplock bag and you can use a cube for each dish

    silly question but do you just let the sofrito melt out before use?

      @nathaliediaz what I've been doing as of lately is putting the sofrito in little ice cube trays and taking them out one by one as I need them:) makes it so much easier!!
