WPL B16 vs B36 - which is the best climber?

- A comparison of climbing ability between my WPL B16 and B36. Both cars are very similar in equipment. Biggest difference is that the B16 has original kit tyres on wider rims with rear duallys, while the B36 has Fayee FY004 wheels. The B36 also has a slightly extended wheelbase to prevent the bigger tyres from touching each other on the rear axles. Seems that the B36 has a small benefit over the B16 thanks to the bigger tyres and wider stance. But overall, both are good in the terrain, for beeing small cars!
Well I would say that they are both good as the other, it was a very good test, and both trucks were on top, despite the very slippery autumn leaves 😊 Very good video 👌
Thank you very much! I also like them both!😊

great video👍
Thank you very much! I´m glad you like it!😊
I have to confess that I wanted the B16 to win, simply because I think it looks better, both because I prefer the cab, and because I think it has more scale-looking wheels!
I also like the raw looks of the B16. If it´s just a steep slope it climbs very well but when it comes to more complicated obstacles the bigger wheels on the B36 pays off. As the cars are technically identical it would (probably) be the same if the wheels were interchanged. It would slightly spoil the scale look of the B16 though.🤔
@@Georgieframe So often we have to arrive at a compromise between scale realism and outright performance...
Awesome challenge, great video idea, like both trucks alot! Not really a technical analysis there, still: good fun and excellent backyard trail footage, left a like, thank you :)
Thank you very much, I´m so glad you like it! I had fun doing this!😊
Nice video To compare tires set up performance 🔵🔵🔵👍👍👍😀😀😀🔵🔵🔵
Thank you very much! I had fun doing it! 😊
@@Georgieframe That is the best part
They are both really good great
Thank you very much! I agree! 😁😊
Awesome video!! I have been trying to decide between the two. Do you have a tutorial video for either of the builds? Im new to RC and just trying to learn at this point. Which would you recommend for a first 6x6 to upgrade?
Thank you for checking in and commenting! Glad you like the video! Sorry, I don´t have a tutorial video for any of these specific builds as the cars have changed over time to their present shapes. But it´s not too dramatic to make some modifications. On the B16 I have widened the front wheels and made duallys in the rear using PET bottlenecks. You can find several tutorials on UA-cam how to do that. On the B36 I use bigger wheels for Fayee FY004a. You can buy them in sixpack from Banggood and they are cheap. The duallys look cool but the Fayee wheels actually perform better in terrain. You can use them on a B16 as well, as the chassis on both cars are really the same. If you mount bigger wheels on either of the cars you must make 5 millimeter longer links to the rear third axle. They are easily made from a piece of 3 mm plastic. Also you must change the driveshaft between the rear axles to a slightly longer one. Both cars also have the WPL 2-speed gearbox with 370 motor. That means you have to use a 3-channel radio, from WPL or other brand. I use Austar AX5 plus a 40 amps esc.
And which car to use? Some people think the B16 have the coolest look and I can agree to that. The B36 has opening doors though, which the B16 doesn´t have. Another advise is, if you are going to modify the car, buy a kit, not ready to run. And if you think it´s worth the money, buy the KM (kit metal) version. Then you get metal axles, 2-speed gearbox with 370 motor, better rear axles, simply a better car.
Some things to think about. Good luck! 😉😉
Both climb very well 🤙
Thank you very much for commenting, I really appreciate it!😊
New friend is here bro 👍👍👍🤩
Let’s stay connected buddy.
Thank you very much! I´m with you!😀😊👍
how did you extend the b36 rear wheel base ? seems like a good idea,
I made new links for the rear third axle, 5 millimeters longer than the stock links. That´s enough to make room för the bigger Fayee wheels. I also changed the driveshaft between the axles to a longer one. The new links I just cut out from a piece of plastic, about 3 mm thick. Simple, but i works!
Where do you get the box for the back of your B36?
Hello! It's homebuilt, using hard plastic and duct tape, then sprayed with a military green colour! 😊😊
And it's a Draw! Same chassis, motor, gears etc. The red one looks better in my oppinion.
I can agree with that. Thank you very much for watching and commenting! 😊😊
