You have to hand it to WPL, they put their profits back into improving the products. They could have easily just left the older models as they were and only bothered improving new models going forward. The people who run the company seem to actually be genuine RC enthusiasts.
Check out their official fb group if not already on it. The WPL guys are awesome and go out of their way to keep a base with their followers. These are ridiculously detailed and functional for cost imo.
So glad you're a WPL fan now. They are great value for the money and the online community that they have built up is worth so much more than just the trucks. Love your vids Kev, always entertaining 👍
I took my family hiking on a popular trail a couple weeks ago and there was an older couple with a pair of crawlers cruising the trail and working obstacles. My kids were completely entranced by it. So I just ordered a couple of the white RTR C24s for them. I’m glad to see them perform reasonably well. Maybe, if the kids stick with it, I’ll order up a kit version for me. Thanks for the video!
Takes a lot to make an RC car go that speed. The world record holding bullet car took years of trial and error.. 160mph is a common speed, he would need to keep the car controllable after that speed which is tough
Anything Kevin please it’s not like it takes much time and effort to make a car go 200mph. (Sarcasm). Also the 100mph RC car off road I can’t wait to hopefully see more of that assuming you are continuing!
Yaaaay! I'm so keen to see you get into these, they're much more of a "make it your Own" type of RC. Heaps of upgrades, parts are cheap and creativity is abundant
@@KevinTalbotTV Do you find your Trepadors on the Landrover do a similar thing if sat for a few days? I had some 37' mud tyres that did that on my Patrol 🙃
Went down the WPL worm hole 2 days ago, It cost me £250 when I got out. I bought all sorts, Orange FJ and the Suzuki truck and nearly every upgrade. Really looking forward to building them. Excellent review.
I'd say back when I got one (the small motored one) I was good in getting the feyiue one instead of wpl, mine worked great aside from the non proportional steering
I bought the WPL red truck with a flatbed for my two year old, I honestly think it’s a awesome little truck, he did burn up the motor and the battery was junk but for 20$ off Amazon I got two 1500mah batteries and a new motor. The electronics are up high Under the hood so even with a little mud it’s okay. Glue the tires on his started slipping bad in the wheels. All in all great little truck.
Hey Kevin. Hello from the states / Ohio. Thanks for entertaining us. I really enjoy your videos above all others because your decisive. No intro credits, you just get right to the point. Much appreciated. Look forwarded to your future projects.
Thanks Kev for these hands on reviews !!! You test the rigs so that we know what is for us and not. 👍 I like the white one very much. I thing it looks absolutely EPIC. 😘 to you!
I bought this truck and the WPL D12 and used parts from both trucks to make it into a 4wd trail truck, the motor is being switched from the stock motor to a 260 motor today so hopefully it’ll crawl a bit better and be more versatile like my C74 is
hi kev love the videos so much i been asking about 40 times now I'm not sure if you seen my message before but can you tell me some good upgrades for my slash 4x4 and when are you going to make another slash video
I got one and bought all aluminum suspension and a two speed transmission on Banggood. It’s amazing. But all in it was about $235.00 bucks. But it’s so badass.
@@destroyerlash I put the tires (without the rims) in a ziplock bag and sprayed about half a can of WD-40 and closed the bag and soaked for about 48 hours. They still stiffen when cold but they’re WAY softer.
On the grey trucks, can you loosen and rotate the rear axle , so that the prop shaft is straighter. This will lessen the notchy rotation of the tyre wheels. The universal joints are almost at the limit of their articulation. May possibly require the propshaft too be shortened
c24-1 is awesome. my first crawler was axial scx10. that thing is just too good. and expensive. wpl gives me more challenges and wrenching which i like .and it is dirt cheap as you say. just superglued the tires. hope they stay on now. love the video . cheers!
They are cheap but they can be changed to be very good good too see you giving thumbs up the c44 it's definitely the best they have so far along with the D12 Imo . Great fun for little money!
The thumbnail!! He looks so disappointed and sad! XD. That's exactly what a kid would look like if they got something that wasn't very good for Christmas. Glad you believe in being brutally honest about RC cars, Kev
I really enjoyed watching this video. I have a WPL C24-1 and really enjoying it. Now I am looking forward to their military truck, specifically the B-36
My first 4x4 was a 1978 Toyota Landcruiser. Same color as your RC model, but without the flatbed. It did fantastic in snow and mud, but 10mpg was steep for gas at $.79/gallon. I'd sure like another one but they don't sell them anymore in the U.S. So I'll have to get the rc. Great review.
I got something like that a few years back that was made by JJrc and I’m considering replacing the suspension, motor, steering servo, and esc to turn it into a hobby grade crawler
Great review 😮I have the version two of the army truck up upgraded to metal drive shafts and makes a great difference. Be great to see a video with doing metal drive shafts, gearbox and springs please 🙏 Thanks 😊
My WPL turned up today, ready to build but noticed it does not come with the working winch as standard and they didn’t send my remote in same package. Will have to sit there until it turns up
I mean it's not "super BAD BAD" hahaha! I love their battery tray choices on the models honestly. Such nice little locations. Great video as always. Can't wait to do my own little reviews and such. Love the inspiration as always.
I just got the C24 it was great. But just lost my snorkel. I upgraded almost everything mostly just for fun. Getting the weight into the axles and mn90 tires on it has made it pretty unstoppable
WPLFanboy... I knew you'd come around 😍

Yeah, you got what you paid for when they first came out. Some of the WPL purists are nearly at Arrma/Traxxas Fanboy levels ;)
I've had a couple issues..
but customer service has been incredible and you can tell they care.

A bit of heat from a heat gun may fix that.

Make sure your transmission is metal geared or buy metal gears
Depends on the car.

Kingzhead moter mount and tekno m6 Axle and a hobbywing max8 combo
I’d say metal shocks, brushless like he said and maybe rpm arms if you jump a lot
