this is one of the best songs of all time
song: no doubt
videoclip: this one sucks, the other rocks
I saw the doors at ice place in the 68 when he played in Vegas takein Lsd
That is definitely a cool story. I would have been 8 years old in 68 I never knew nothing about acid until high school. back in seventy four@PatrickCallahan-ur9md
Damn right
This IS my favorite song of all time
Stoner heaven
And I’m an old Dead Head
May God bless everyone in the universe with no exceptions!!!....….❤....…..May God bless everyone in the universe with no exceptions!!!.....❤
I love how this song is layered up. There's the rain...then there's the drums, the piano and Jim's voice...it's pure genius. when I first heard this song back in my teens for the first time, it was like "Wow" and everything just clicked. It's a powerful track and I just love it...
I love the song, but as a guy love the lady also
Me2
X2
Best song ever, cheers from Cologne 😀😀🍷🎉😇

We raised our sons during the '80s, and every summer, as we headed out of town on vacation, we rolled to this song.
"Into this world we're thrown".....gets me everytime. The Doors were so much more than just music.
Oh yes! I agree.
Word.
Loved me some Jim Morrison.
Jim wrote very introspective poetic lyrics ❤️❤️
Ja,de filosoof Heidegger had het er ook over hoe we ergens geworpen worden in de wereld van na de zonde val,ook bij dieren wordt er gesproken over dat ze geworpen hebben
50 years later this song is still so powerful
I’ve been listening to The Doors for many years now, their songs always sound like I’m hearing them for the first time, love you Jim ❤️🙌 the poet, the man xx
I love Jim Morrison ❤❤❤
I mean, I just don’t know about this one.
I love The Doors with every cell of my being, from before I was born, and I’m glad there is some work being done to revive the memory of these amazing visionaries of our time, and I kinda like some of the shots in this music video...
But damn if I ain’t feel like it’s really out of sync with poetic language of the original, its depth in meaning and even its rhythms. The breadth of thunderous sky above. I just feel like it’s completely parallel to the song and what it actually says.
It's not just you.
Agreed, it's obvious that whomever made this was looking to pad their demo reel. Not knocking the video, it's technically impressive and fantastical in it's own right, it just...misses the mark.
A few months ago The Doors posted a short looping animation of Jim driving his mustang set to one of the other takes of Riders and it fit the mood and vibe perfectly. Much more so than this.
Edit: ua-cam.com/video/bUmqGggw0oc/v-deo.html
It's bad translation or you don't get what "parallel" means.
@@marcsalzman8082 in this case, “parallel” means it doesn’t ever crosses lines with it; exist in wholly different universe
Totally agree with you. It has nothing related to the lyrics and the visuals are really meh. What's the thing with christian crosses, I don't get it. And the giant/ alien CGI character???
This song is legendary
This has to be in the top 10 greatest songs of all time.
I proclaim this song as a the best song of rock&roll history.
Maybe 1971
I've been a hard core, die hard, Doors fan for over 50 years...
Bought all the band's original LPs, VHS tapes, laserdics, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, etc...
The Doors are arguably the quintessential American Band, setting the groundwork for all that followed. Happy to see new content presenting Doors music to younger generations!
But this video lacks in all the essential categories.
What the song's dark and foreboding poetic lyrics paint, a vast landscape of emotions... Alienation, loneliness, confusion, fear, longing... I could go on. The point being, this concept looks like a film school student listened to the song, took some of it's more obvious imagery, and splashed it heavily with some gratuitous, way too slick graphics, to "bring it up to date for the kids".
As just one obvious example, take a good look at the original album's inner record sleeve artwork, the female figure on the telephone pole, nailed Christ-like, sacrificed. It's controversial harsh graphic, stark for it's time, even now. Here in this "safe" new music video, it's reproduced like a "glammed up" photo shoot for a fashion magazine cover... Couldn't be more opposite of what The Doors' music, and Jim Morrison's poetry, was meant to convey.
I really was looking forward to watching this video, wanted to like and enjoy it. But it left me with a bad taste in my mouth, and indigestion... Like going to Olvera Street here in LA to enjoy a spicy full flavored authentic Mexican-American style dinner, but being served a Taco Bell "Value Menu" beef burrito instead.
The music is, and will always remain, timeless. The images it continues to conjure in my head remain to haunt me. The song isn't self-consciously trying to be edgy... it IS edgy. The original song, "Riders On The Storm", stands as one of the best tracks ever recorded by The Doors (and co-produced by Bruce Botnick), or ANY band since.
I watched this music video, I wont bother to watch it again or share it on social media. This video is cringe at best. Instead of complementing, it distracts from The Doors music... I'd rather watch the LP spinning on a turntable!
"The Doors - Riders On The Storm (Official Music Video)"
Disappointment for Doors fans...
A BIG missed opportunity for the film makers!
A hard thumbs down Dislike.
The Doors are not in good hands:( you hit the mark on this
@@aidanmctee9767 You said it!
THAT is exactly what I'm afraid of... I have no idea in who's collective decision making hands this mess was in. But that group needs to not have creative control over Doors media again! This hurts The Doors, and Jim Morrison's rock legacy!
Amen to that.
The Olvera street reference hit deep. This felt cheap and slapped together. Fuck, I miss LA food.
What he said, it's crap.
I'm only 20yo but I'm glad that my mum show me The Doors and let me rise with them
53 años después sigue vivo su legado, su música que te hace viajar, sentir, volar..... 02/2024 chile 🇨🇱

I drove across country alone when I was 16 tears old. Thix song brings back memories. I feel asleep AND woke up in a corn field in Kansas. I took diet prlills my aunt gave me. Only God knows .. RichardDarner
This is unexpected

I expect this to be true 👍
Legit
Expect this to fucking suck
@@pxofpxof7782 Agree. The perhaps greatest song in terms of atmosphere and a dumb video
Man, this music sure holds up after 50 years. Sounds better than ever.
Well they Have remastered the album many times over the years.
Timeless!
@@riggs666 there is more to these videos than you may be aware of. To a casual observer the video may not be good, but to a fanatic there many references to the band's history.
You gotta love your man ❤️
especially under relaxed state.
Thank you for this wonderful mind blowing video😎
GENIUS nothing more can I say, I forever love you Jim Morrison RIP OH Great One!!
Just to give some insight to this debacle I’m 70 years old and not some stick in the mud. I lived through that wonderous period called the 60’s. The Doors were and still are a huge part of my existence. This music does not need any new poor interpretations of their music. It speaks for and alone for itself!! Rock isn’t Dead just play the lps baby!!!!
I'm 14 and I love The Doors and Days of the New, my two best bands.
Man I see I have something in common with Jim and Travis, Jim liked Mythology and Travis too, Both have the INFP (Scientifically Based Personality) personality. And I'm also INFP.
So I have a lot in common with both of them and I can sing like them, are I or Travis the reincarnation of Jim?
@@amaralxk just be yourself. There was only one Jim Morrison my young friend. It’s great to love someone’s music and poetry but make your own music. Write your own poetry. Live your own life. You are special in that you are your own individual. Groove on. 🖖🚀
👏👏👏
Yeah baby! Play that Licorice Pizza and Rock on!
🎸🎶🔘🎧🎛️ 🎹🎚️🎙️🥁
This isn't a cover version, if that's what you're suggesting. This is/was a 50th anniversary re-release.
Sometimes you don’t get the trip you want, but you do get the trip you deserve.
Love you
Aidita is a better option for$72
Ok
They 'r the legend.. The Doors.. is the grandfather of Rock in the world..❤🙌
I cant understand those who said this guy wasnt a singer? His voice is mesmerizing.
This will be the ultimate show .
Looks like I'm gettin stoned Emaculate from start to finish
35 years ago this video would be state of the art. Some of the effects would have been impossible. But the song is so good at conveying visual stimuli that the visual effects seem superfluous.
I always think of long road trips with a thunderstorm raging just out of reach of the highway with roiling clouds and bolts of chain lightning.
Every member in the band were equal in their contribution to the beautiful, the transcendence, the mystical, the dark, the journey, the Doors
But not equal in that two are dead and never approved this cringy music video.
@@vhscollector I agree 100%
This band still takes me places after listening for 50 years😂
It does indeed
Riders on the storm
Riders on the storm
Into this house, we're born
Into this world, we're thrown
Like a dog without a bone
An actor out on loan
Riders on the storm
There's a killer on the road
His brain is squirmin' like a toad
Take a long holiday
Let your children play
If you give this man a ride
Sweet family will die
Killer on the road, yeah
Girl, you gotta love your man
Girl, you gotta love your man
Take him by the hand
Make him understand
The world on you depends
Our life will never end
Gotta love your man, yeah
Riders on the storm
Riders on the storm
Into this house, we're born
Into this world, we're thrown
Like a dog without a bone
An actor out on loan

HEY, GROUPS OF THANKS. FOR THE LYRICS. SO MANY GOOD CRAZY MEMORIES. ESPECIALLY SINGING WITH MY BUTTHOLE FRIENDS AS KIDS SAY WORDS WE HAD NO IDEA WHAT THEY WERE SAYING. THANKS AGAIN
jim would hate this
Loved The Doors since I was 14. This video is bad. But the music is phenom. His voice and lyrics... OMG! Thanks for reminding the world what good music is.
The video is worse than bad. Made by some yuppy fresh out of art school im sure. Its not as bad as what they did to benny and the jets but still
You and me both!
I agree with you - he missed the point of the song entirely but ok - it’s his vision...
@@edwardcarmody3336 Better to listen to music, than watch this...
is bad bcase u didin't drop a acid hahaha
Timeless. Happy belated birthday and R.I.P the Lizard King, the poet, the legendary Jim Morrison.
And Ray Mansarek
Doors classic 60s band
Still relevant. The message? Pretty obvious. The classics never die. Thank you for posting 🤘
I'm very happy to say that I grew up in the 80's where songs like this around and still listen to it on the radio now, love it ❤
Only you are 2 decades out this is late 60's Jim Morrison died in 1970 so this song could hardly be 1980's could it?
No, I mean I grew up in the 80's, sorry I made a mistake and I knew it was the 60's, Jim Morrison died in 1971 not 70
Came home after last call and lit one up…love the symbolism
Fun fact: A young woman asked me for a light to borrow and that she would bring it back. The young woman never came back. And, that my friend is how my fingerprint eliminated me as a suspect 🧔🏽♀️🎩
Love from Mississippi USA! So ready for this. Waiting!! 👏🏻👏🏻💯
As one of the 0,05% of the most loyal listeners of The Doors on Spotify, I've listened to this song many times, and it's one of my personal favorites. But, this is just not what I expected and I'm really disappointed...
Magnificent music video for the people who are in the front room of your mind.
I have kicked out a whole BUNCH of people from the "front room of my mind." Starting right about when this song came out.

Real cool music vidio very entertaining
First song I remember listening to on my first real stereo system as a teenager. Was hooked ever since that night.
Summer 1971, I got my first stereo. Right about when this came out. It was only one of many LPs in my collection, but it was one.
You know, for a song that has tons of rain sound effects, this video contains literally no rain in it whatsoever.
lmao
😊😊
Afraid to use your imagination?
actually that makes sense
@@amymcnally6592 oh booooo cheap shot 😜😜😜
I felt like I was watching a trailer for a futuristic sci fi movie rather than a music video. Regardless, the song is great as usual. I'm not usually a fan of this type of footage but I appreciate the creativity that went into it.
this song is out of this world
..yes..
This is The Doors at their incredible best (and that's saying alot). These guys were GOOD! I was just a kid (12-13) when they first came out. I was overwhelmed. I was a little black kid into the "soul" music of James Brown and Aretha Franklin. Sly & The Family Stone some times...later, I went crazy for Jimi Hendrix when I first heard him. I still worsh😢 and adore him and he's been dead for 50+ years. The man is, and will forever be immortal. I'm so cool with being from the same place as him... Seattle. There MUST be something in the water...or the air here. Hendrix, Cobaine, Quincy, Cornell, Layney, Pearl Jam, Candlebox), Macklemore, Sir Mix, Dancecab, Miss Ernestine (Anderson), Robert Cray, Greg Rolie, (The bass player for Guns & Roses, who went to the very same High School as Nicky Sixx, another great bass player. Plus there was Kenny G, etc...
My favorite of their music. But I don't like the video. It's not what plays in my mind when I hear it.
WoW, legendary!
That was awesome
Prefer the long version, it IS one of the best recordings EVER!
Nice!
I like the subtle nods to the Doors Workshop, Hollywood Bowl, Alta Cienega Motel & Barney’s Beanery ✌🏼 Nice work
I was wondering how many people will notice these...
Oh I wondered about that.. I'm not from USA and never I've Never...bean.😉
Visuals are a tad tone deaf to the original song but hey…another excuse to listen to Jim’s poetry 🤷🏻♂️
Glad you’re a Doors fan. Made me respect you even more. Love your old content
super tone death i dont even direct and i feel like i couldve done better
I guess they are trying to appeal to a younger fan base? I mean I consider myself one since I am in my 30's. But, I want the authentic Doors. Not visuals. The music gives you the visuals.
That was true! This is a road song.....not that clip
This was a waste of all of our time. Jim would have pissed on this.
Okay, That blew me away ... and I'm a doors fan since 1967.
Эта композиция - одна из десяти лучших, которые я слушаю уже 50 лет! Светлая память Джиму...

Intro of the Oliver Stone movie ’The Doors’ is the perfect music video for ’Riders on the Storm’ ☺️✌️
Everything in this video is never what the doors were
Jim was from another galaxy which is why he was so popular because he was different , but his music will live on in eternity even when those galaxies he created die !
The Doors forever ♾️

Jim ist genauso großartig wie G N R und alle anderen wir haben damals alle in unser eigenen Welt gelebt.❤Das war großartig

Love how they added some of Jim's favorite LA spots. The Doors Workshop 2:22, Barney's Beanery 2:39, and Alta Cienega Motel 2:48.
Ha! I am wondering how many people noticed! I visited all of them when in LA! I even managed to sleep in Jim’s room in Alta Cienega...
Loved the nod to Barney's even if it no longer bears ANY resemblance to Barney's of yesteryear
