I absolutely love LMU, it is a step forward for sim racing physics and tyre modelling. GTE cars stand out for me at the moment and the Porsche the standout there

Rsr sounds like it's about to feast on the whole field. So angry screaming.

The 963 BLOWS the competition out of the water, compared to the other hypercars it feels twice as light.

The reason you are feeling the hypercars to be slidey or skatey (I had the same problem) is because the default setups for these cars are not good.
Once you start playing with the setups you will find it’s a similar scenario to ACC where changing certain options in the car setup menu can drastically change the driving feel and force feedback.
I’ve been using custom setups for a couple weeks now and it’s like a different game. In fact with a proper setup the Ferrari probably feels the most planted and grippy out of all the hypercars especially in the mid and high speed corners.
I’d also add that on Portimao the hypercars just struggle in general, this is due to the fact that they’re never really able to get up to speed and it’s very difficult to get the tires in the range there. The LMP2 is only 4 seconds slower than the hypercar cars at Portimao; compared to the usual 10-12 second gap at other tracks.

Could you please tell me more about 499p settings to adjust for better stability ? For now I upped the aerodynamic and detached the rear ARB. Any advices ?

And the slidey feel of the hypercars doesn't look unrealistic imo. Look at the crashes at le mans this year. Most were just snaps of oversteer. These hypercars don't look easy to drive.

What impressed me the most about this sim is the hybrid/virtual energy simulation. You have to adapt your braking depending to the regen braking model. Like, isn't that just insane how far we've come in terms of simulations from the gt4 days of the 2000s?
Meanwhile in gt7 i can't even deploy the hybrid myself lol.

LMP2, and Porsche GTE, these are my happy place cars

I love that Peugeot so much, just such a cool looking car with an interesting approach to the series.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the new version does irl this year.
I'm also looking to the Porsche and if Penske can finally have his win.

I have Le Mans Ultimate and when it came out i really enjoyed it, but now, i just dont have a ton of reasons to come back, i keep my online racing pretty exclusive to iRacing, and for hotlapping AC is getting alot of the cars i enjoy (GT3's and LMH) by RSS and VRC. My biggest complaint with LMU is it not having a career mode, such a simple thing to add, just let me do the 2023 season at race lengths i want and keep a tally of championship points. Also with 2024 having so many new cars and tracks the roster already feels pretty limiting and outdated. hoping the 2024 update comes out soon enough!

Does IRacing have a Career Mode
For me Playing Iracing after Driving the GTP/Hypercars in LMU feels like Night and day!
IRacing isn't even close to LMU with the cars on hand.
Hypercar and GTE in LMU is Miles ahead of Iracing in Physics and FFB.

I get what your saying but it IS an early release that you purchased so it is not the complete sim yet. Of course there will be a career mode.

@@darwinLee81283 iRacing doesn't have a career mode, but it does have one in development, I believe plans are for 2025. But at minimum, it does have an AI Season mode which LMU currently lacks. iRacing, AMS2, and AC all have that.
Obviously for WEC content, LMU beats those three out not including AC's mods. RSS and VRC are pumping out some phenomenal hypercars, but you still need some cheap mods to fill the grid. I'd definitely say I prefer VRC's Peugeot over LMU's Peugeot though, but until we get a full RSS and VRC Hypercar grid, hard to beat the complete LMU package.
Physics and feature wise, LMU definitely beats out iRacing for me. Just having the bump start alone beats out the iRacing LMDhs with the immersion. I love the iRacing Caddy, but there's not much management with it or the other iRacing LMDhs. Put the hybrid on balanced and rarely mess with it. And impossible to beat the rF2 FFB and tire modeling.
I love LMU, but it's weird I haven't been playing it more. It's hard to beat iRacing's multiplayer, and I find its physics, while not as good as LMU's, is easier to hop into in the 1-2 hours of free time I have after I get home from work. If I hop into ACC, AC, rF2, LMU, AMS2, etc, I have to spend some time to adjust to the physics even after just after a week away, but I can return to iRacing after months of not playing, and immediately get into a groove after a few laps. For all my issues with iRacing's physics, they do just work. Really hoping we have a public Le Mans 24 special event in LMU because that'll probably be what finally brings me in and hooks me permanently.

Imo lmu is so much more polished than iracing. Not to hate on iracing, if you enjoy it great no problems, just my opinion.
Iracing just doesn't give me the vibe. Yes the physics are there no doubt but racing is not just about physics. The graphics and the ui plus lack of single player break it for me.

I hope they can dial out some of the constant slippery feeling in the game, but it’s a lot of fun even so.

I tried the game a day ago, it's just super laggy when you open up the menu. I can't even change anything. There is also an issue with Hypercar FFB, feels like my base just turned off. But LMP2 and GTE are great to drive.

Haven’t touched it for a while so had a few updates to install - but for me the Ferrari hypercar is now planted AF! Even more so than the LMP2.
I actually found the LMP2 to be the most skittish car in game now.
I had way more fun in the hypercars - and when it came out they were undriveable so kudos to 397 there.
Obvs the GTE are still the most enjoyable / accessible class and are unbelievable fun.
Bit worried that the iracing style subscription is gonna kill it, it will be down to how they improve online and content DLC - GT3 and newer circuits 🤞🏻
But it’s already a far better sim than it was - just like some others have said it doesn’t have anything to pull you back in over say iracing or ACC…..yet.

No Lanzo V10 on the list? What did you do with the real Mike?
Sucks I haven't played LMU as much as I want to. The Peugeot is everything I hoped it would be. Just crossing my fingers for a public Le Mans 24 special event this year. I got into iRacing just in time for the Le Mans special event to be killed.

That would have been hilarious if I’d just snuck random AC cars onto this list, lol. And yeah, I’ll be curious to see if LMU takes advantage of the LM24H weekend and schedules some interesting events
