Toyota needs to take a lesson here. No skid plate removal required and no special oil filter tools needed. GM also stands their oil fill port vertically so it actually supports the funnel properly. I hate doing oil changes on my Tacoma. I cuss and swear every fkn time. I'm never buying another one.
My local Chevy charges 140.00 for oil/filter (full synthetic) and 55.00 for tire rotation. 195.00 + tax brings it to about 212.00 OTD. I buy 6qts of Mobil1 and an AC DELCO Gold filter for 34.00 total. Takes me about an hour to do oil/filter and tire rotation. So, based on that, I’m probably saving about 150-170.00 doing on my own.
Actually, manufacturers will tell you not to pre-fill your filter. That is unfiltered oil that is Going into your engine, it may sound silly. But that is what caterpillar and other manufacturers note.
Cummins says differently. And the oil that you pour in to fill the sump is going through the same parts as it does otherwise. No disadvantage to filling the filter other than it takes less time to get the oil where it needs to be. And the stuff from the bottle is cleaner than what's in the sump
Nice dumb argument you got there! Unfiltered oil? It’s brand new oil out of a container. Do you filter it before you dump it into the sump? No you don’t. I hear this nonsense several times a year. It’s retarded nonsense.
Brand new oil out of sealed container.there are NO contamination of brand new oil that the micron rating is going to capture at start up,I have Always prefilled a filter for over 40 years never had any engine failure, your doing more harm by starting up on a dry filter
Check out all my products! linktr.ee/diyandrewflockhart
I used a plastic solo cup to remove the oil filter. It catches the oil and allows for less of a mess.
Tip: Put a plastic cup around the filter while twisting it off, you won't get oil on your hands this way.
Thank you for posting.

Caution! This is for the V8 engines. This is the wrong viscosity and amount for the 2.7 turbo. The 2.7 takes 6qts of 5w30.
Where can I get those ramps?
Amazon has some pretty decent ones! amzn.to/3HsyXsn

My 2022 Silverado doesn’t look anything like that underneath.

I’d be changing girlfriends
Oil cap releases pressure why did u work backwards 🤡
Tip: Don’t ever use Quaker state oil
Why not 😳
Use Castrol Edge and OEM filter. Quaker State 🤮🤮🤮
Quaker state is one of the best synthetic oils on the market
I don't agree! Any brand name oil is good, as they are DEXOS and ILSAC approved
@@prule1335 That Castrol oil filter he is using is a premium filter, better then the ACDELCO. They are both made by Champ Labs.
