The match against Federer in Basel has some of the highest quality shot-making of all time! I think it was either 2005 or 2006 - prime-Federer era - and Federer was playing at such a high level in the match. He would come up with incredible shots and still lose the point. Still, Federer did win the match lol. But it was tough and you could see Federer genuinely impressed and acknowledge Srichapan. Think Paradorn was called the Asian Federer and with good reason. Much respect.
People don’t realize just how high the level of ball striking was in that Basel match. It had the same kind of shot-making that took place in the 2005 Masters match between Fed and Nalbandian. Look that one up if you haven’t already. Fed was playing with an injury but I think that makes it even more impressive. We just get used to that level of play from Fed. Nalbandian at his best was just as skilled and talented as Fed and Srichaphan. The best backhand of all time in my opinion.
