To me, the only important thing about a guitar is how it makes you feel when you make it, and then play it. That's where you find the beauty in it.
Sounds like mountain dalcimer
Very Appalachian-esq. Backwoods… in a good way. Loving it!
As someone who played a mandolin for many years you have made a three string cigar box tenor mandolin. It gave me chills in a good way
I have to say (for me anyway) skinny strings rule. They have that certain 'Terwwang' and l couldn't play any lead work without them. I always used skinnies on a six string and l get the most enjoyment playing with them, but l digress! Will have a go with that alternative tuning and see how l get on. I know I've said it before but thanks for your enthusiasm, championing these little instruments. They are awesome!!
Excellent as always!!! Wikipedia has the opposite of growl is whisper. How 'bout that... 🤣
Kind of a dulcimer effect.
Beautiful build and playing!
To me the guitar has a dulcimer sound with that tuning. Sounds good!
I've got it. Skills, that's a different story. I don't always remember the tips. Broke my neck yesterday after I realized why we do a heel. Must go through the neck to keep from being too thin.
Amazingly great , 😍🙏👍
Its definitely the feel and sound
Cool sounds great
🤘
Kinda like Ballika tuning
This is probably a dumb question. Have you ever played / built a Strum Stick. I bought one 20 years ago and they arexa real scrub machine; So much going on with the right hand.
As a balalaika player, I use e-e-A tuning.
Del - nice build. Yours sounds like one of those Brazilian Cavaquinho guitars! Sweet! I just tuned up my latest 4 string DGBD, and it has a similar sound.
awesome!! i bet it sounds amazing!!
I kind of like rough hewn approach! Thanks for the suggestion and inspiration!
You're so welcome!
Always nice to see a “switch up”. This reminds me of back in 1970, my dad and I built some ukuleles from some plans he found. He was an engineer and a mathematician. We started experimenting with moving strings and tunings around. We came up with really cool and different sounds. It also reminds me of that “6” stringer you built quite a while back. Always fun stuff. See ya soon buddy
