"Earthquake"
"No captain, battle formations."
Epic line.
"Our arrows will blot out the sun"
"Then we will fight in the shade"
Dragos Idita the fact that this is historical real makes it 100% better
300 likes
They even recreated the spear throwing scene from 300
Why not insert the spartan memes
Lol 🤣
But in reality spartans do not throw their spears. Only if it’s broken they replace it with their sword
@@sidahmedheroswhat's funny?
Soldier: we must attack!
Politician: but we gonna die!
King: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!!!
+Numéro AKP66649B
Nice and acurate transcription
dem red he'ds are da biggezt and da strongest!!
Ancient Greek politics in a nutshell
E.C. Mann not in Athens. Here:
Athenian Politician: We’re gonna die!
Athenian Soldier: We’re gonna die!
Athenian King/Ruler: We’re gonna surrender!
Not enough dakka
Seeing this and realizing how badass the Spartans from 300 would have looked if they used historical armor and weapons.
And how stupid they look in the movie 😂
The movie has badass combat scenes. But the outfit and terrain are cheesy AF.
Not to mention the movie is based from a comic book
but but u wont see 300 men with six pack abs if they dont fight naked lol.
@@ammarhaziq919 they built more naturally back then.
Pronounced six packs were very very rare if present.
The spartan armor is the best in decoration compared to the other nations
Captain Souvlakis second best imo. First one is gonna be THE MIGHTY ROMAN LEGION
Rome 1 hoplites had the best compromise. Then again Rome 1 had the Urban Cohort!
@@Chris-ts2yc now that thing is ugly.
@@user-pn4ex3kf4o not the eagle cohort
@@Chris-ts2yc Roman armor is awesome in battle but disgusting when purely taking about aesthetics.
"Chaos is a ladder" - Spartan 'Littlefinger' King
Fun fact Sparta had not one king but two
True its sad that there are not 2 kings on the political side of sparta
possibly this was a time where only 1 king was in office because of betrayal or loss of life or them just not being in sparta for the council this time
These are some of the best trailers I've ever seen.
The better one but both of the Hannibal trailers are uncomparable to anything
@@tadeaspekar9043 truth bro they really did their thing with this game for ads
This. Is. SPARTA!
This... Is... SPARTANIA!! :DDD
No, this is patrick
No. This. Is...
CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!
+That Guy This is Patra (Greek city) !
+0827ant1 More like THIS. IS. ANOTHER DLC
"Then from chaos, we will RISE!" goosebumps still
spartan hoplites should have the friggen ability to SWITCH to sword/spear
Spartans only use their swords when they lost or broke their spears but historically they often prefer to use spears
the sword was a secondary weapon to the spear for the Hoplites(not only spartans). They would draw it only if they lost/broke their spear in combat
It would be cool if they had a melee unit instead of all spears
you mean sword infantry? because those spartan spears are still melee weapons in general use. its a very rare occasion that they would use it as a missile.
Felipe Tangcalagan no I dont mean sword infantry. Have ever played the game?
Did the guy in 1:15 just kick the enemy's bronze breastplate with just sandals on?
That seems like a really good way to break some toes.
was thinking the same thing as i watched it haha.
Well if he is stupid and actually kicks with his toes instead of the top of his foot or bottom of his shin
Brandon Smith Yeah if you want shin splints. You're strike area with a kick is the ball or top flat of your foot.
Actually in a fair amount of cases kicking with the flat of the foot can cause serious injuries, if his shin is well conditioned or he has a very strong bone structure he would probably end up with a bruised shin at the most
Not to mention that whilst still being sturdy bronze aint the strongest metal around
"You will plunge Greece into chaos!"
"Chaos...THIS IS SPARTA!!!"
This trailer always gives me Goosebumps
I love the total war series but to be honest, I would love to see the campaign gets cinematic video once you complete objectives. Let say once you are done with the first objectives depending on what you did well the cinematic will reflect on your choice that you did. It will be more thrilling to continue your campaign. I love the into cinematic before each campaign but the excitement of continuing to conquer dies later on.
I think medieval 2 did that
Attila did, kinda
1:28 love the 300 reference
This trailer is so good and the korinthian man giving his argument as to why sparta should fight is some great writing.
What is with the random "Alcohol Reference" warning at the beginning? I hope that isn't because wine is a resource in the campaign or something...
The men talk about drinking, and getting drunk, or being hung over, if you close up to one of your troops and listen to them.
Sam Smith actually lol'd
+Sam Smith Thish ish *burp* ish...ish...uhh... Sphurhta...* hic*
+G0atboy And then he manages a feeble kick and ends up falling down the well... that would be something funny.
+Ulfric Ruthgardsson Haha yes
The engine Rome II uses is amazing at animations. Like seriously, this and all other trailers are incredible in quality. It's a shame the game didn't live up to up to it, but these are still very entertaining to watch.
Sparta Stronk.
+TheStrategyGamer sparta into space?
+ThatRandomDude Fucking Polandballs
Sparta can into debt
Sparta kill people that Sparta owns money to. Problem is of solved!
ThatRandomDude speak very best english dude.
1:11
So how did that worked out for you? Achieve anything?
Such a shame the real soldiers in this game don't fight like the trailer
But they do , you just have to look close and follow some soldiers steps
It depends on who gives the orders
mate they have attack animations and killing animations
I love the way people put their modern day moralising into looking at ancient civilizations lol ! Try looking at history from the perspective of the time your studying ( even if there is limited material) and maybe you might make sense.
shoottothrill1 context allways rules from the purest democracy to the most totalitarian of regimes their actions are only ruled by historical context never idology
Modern Greeks dont look at Ottoman same way though.
"Then from Chaos, we will RISE!"- much better then 300's "Spartans! What is your profession?"
"Then from chaos we will rise!" That line basically sums up the United States right after WW2
Vampire Slayer Please compare sparta, a beautiful powerful greek city state to the united states again
@@dapperchap1535 The United States is a power to be reckoned with in the world. *Just like Sparta in Greece*
I mean the US came off the Great Depression after WWII so yeah kind of.
@@AdeptKing no the great depression ended in 1939
@@za.monolit Kind of but the war did boost the economy up a lot, something they really needed.
I love how the soldier has a burn on his right leg and scratches and bruises on his arms.
I'm reading Thucydides for the first time, and I just finished the part that matches the debate in this trailer... it's different, but I should expect that in a DLC trailer
I wasn't aware they had made an expansion about the Peloponnesian Wars, I wish I was still playing the game!
1:28 300 vibes
0:57 te guy speaking as the advisor on Attila!!! he has an epic voice.
He's also an empire genera/captain in Warhammer, and the spartan king also voices King Louen Leoncur, Karl Franz's voice actor can be heard in the senate in one of the other trailers.
They ever fix the Phalanx in Rome 2?
@@cybronikai1957 the Actual Pike phalanx never had a shield wall
Bro this was the thing I was searching for after i tried the wrath of sparta campaign
Creative Assembly: "But... Sparta wasn't a power in this time period... they were nothing. Besides, we need more time to finish the actual game."
Sega: "Hey, Frank Miller made Spartans popular. And he make a story about guys who fucked little boys, and them dress them up as male strippers, and that story is popular, then we have to follow."
If you play the DLC you will see that there is no Rome in it. Only Greek City States and Persians (not really remember Persians, but probably). The whole DLC takes place during the Peloponnesian War (basically Athens VS Sparta) and it was always a power (in Ancient Greece at least, up until the Romans conquered them) .
I'll agree on one thing, it has nothing to do with Rome and the Roman Era, so yeah it takes you on a completely different time period...
It's a good DLC though
+egw esu really? I didn't know that, thanks man :)
Cybermat47 no problem. Just in case you are interested you should check out some playthroughs and decide for yourself :)
(you know.... since it's Steam Sales n' all :p )
+egw esu oh, I know about the Steam sales alright, I got R2TW and the blood DLC today :D
I'm gonna start a proper campaign as either the Scipii (I got the Roman families mod) or the Iceni as soon as I finish my Citerioris Provinciae campaign in 'Hegemony Rome' :D
+egw esu I got 'Wrath of Sparta' today, and it's awesome. The period between the creation of the Agoge and the death of Alexander the Great is my favourite period of Greek history, and it's great to see the golden age of hoplites in Total War at last.
I also have 'Hegemony Gold: Wars of Ancient Greece', which covers the beginning of the Peloponesian War, it's end, and the rise of Macedon, but while it's one of the best indie games I've ever seen, it just doesn't have the same realistic graphics as R2TW, and the gameplay is quite different.
Now, to see if I can recreate the Battle of Thermopylae...
On a side note...one of the several things that drove me crazy about Rome II was those weird arm and leg shadows. Are they supposed to be dirt, weird moving tattoos, moving shadows, leeches, or something similar to Rorschach's mask from the Watchmen?
So when i got the dlc for the Greek states it added the heroes of Sparta but then the royal Spartans don’t have their spartan helmets anymore, they just look like normal soldiers. Is there a way to change that?
this and Hannibal at the gates are the best trailers
this is madness!
Unleash the 300 memes
When you look at how he kicks the guy with the chest plate
In reality . It would either hurt or be cold and hurt.
He lifted his foot up while his top part of the foot was sliding up into the chest plate
Allowing him to not really Kick
But more slide kick
I got shivers watching this
at least those spartans look more realistic than the ones in assassins creed odyssey
would be super cool if that was Gerard Butler voice lol.
1:34 There was no term or idea named "Greece" in that time
***** Oh, thanks.
After the Greco-Persian wars the term Greece/Hellas and Greek/Hellen was used a lot not only by the common people but by historians. The greatest examples are Thucidides, Xenophon and Herodotus. They knew they where Greeks but there wasn't a grown national spirit that'w why we had many conflicts together. However, we have been united at this time many times with the most known examples being the panhellenic alliance with Philip and Alexander and the alliance against the Persians during the Greco-Persian wars. The fact that this term existed back then can be proved , also, with the fact that only Greeks could participate in the Olympic Games and in many other festivals, events etc and there is a really epic :D phrase: "Πας μη Έλλην βάρβαρος" which means whoever is not Greek is barbarian. I hope I helped a bit :)
i just love this!
1:29 such as the movie of 300 is this scene
1:27 hommage?
I love that ending
They should have made Alexander the Great from Makedonia if they wanted an ancient Greek campaign..that's more interesting than the overpowered Spartans...
Paul :\ true
There is a good mod for that in Steam Workshop
Harald Æsir link?
I love this dlc
THIS IS SPARTA
"STRIKE NOW I BEG YOU"
Hmmm its like CA was hinting at from Chaos we will rise huh.
THIS IS SPARTA!!
We still need Alexander Total War and to have a Greek DLC
Madness??? THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!!!!!
total war player: This should have been a default faction since the release!
CA: Default faction? THIS! IS! DLC!

Immortals, we will put there name to the test
than from chaos we will rise ..
Give them nothing! But take from them, everything!
If only total war put this much detail into the ACTUAL GAME from the start...
Adi Hitchins Oh yeah and Sparta STILL HAS NO SWORD UNITS!
Ah, welcome diplomat. Let me introduce you to the Scottish king of Sparta
sparta , Super strong soldier
If only the campaign actually played out to be that interesting.
SPAAARRRTAAAAA
Shouldnt there be two kings?
How to get the new campgain
Spartans, my army
The politician is correct! If the Corinthians want war, they should seek is alone! xD
Spaaaaaartaaa😭😭😭😭❤❤❤❤
Total War: ROME 2
os melhores guerreiro do mundo sao os SPARTANOS OU SPARTANS
imagine if a unit of blessed khorne berserkers join in the 300
Does this game still exist?Wow.
Pretty inspirational if I can say so myself
1:09 I can’t imagine the damage the shield does to the human body. Bronze leather and wood all smashing into bones. Very bad way to go.
Was that lu bu at the end
what
But neither in the game nor in real sparta had units bearing swords. Does sword units for sparta come in the dlc?
Aksel Gjertveit nope you can only get it by mods i think
caspion 16 Well, that is a disappointing trailer.
yep but they want money i fell in the trap though (i thought you were able to play as spartan and other greek states which it didn't i had to buy the greece culture pack so damn you total war but the culture pack is worth it though you get three states
caspion 16 Yeah...always play a game before you buy it's dlcs
yep i learned that the hard way
If there's no map for the battle of Thermopylae I will be sad
This is the perfect example of the change in TW style.
When before their work was used by the history channel, now they aim for unrealistic blockbuster movies?
It seems its becoming less of a game for the history nut, and more a streamlined game for non-intrigued masses...
DLC
But this kind of stuff did happen though
The Peloponnesian war. indeed. But if we look at the battle style shown here it is for action, not realism sadly.
Beornwahl None of this happens in the actual game. Thats just cinematic fluff for the trailer. If you played Rome 2 after they fixed everything, the fighting is pretty realistic
So... how fixed is the main game?
I would say its fixed. But its the core gameplay that bothers me. That cant be fixed.
Sword? I never see
did not Sparts had 2 kings?
No way this trailer is 6 years old
The amount of 300 in this trailer is okay... I guess...
Did the Spartan not wear sandals at the time because it looks like all other units in the trailer wear sandals....
This is cool, but Sparta wasn't known for their superior soldiers, they were known for the their very aggresive and persuasive terms. Their law is as strict as their mouths, and their king as humble as the sands in the desert
They were far better propagandists than warriors. If you want Greek warriors, look to the Macedonians and the Thebans after them.
SPARTANS ARE BADASS i am greek i know.....
+Mr Wtf and the immortals?
+Mark Anthony Bulao
lets see eith the russians now and second we are lets say allies as we are in nato but we will and we support russia and without america turkey would already be ruins
Spartans are the definition of the word "Warrior"
fucking awsome trailer
How to chnage languagae
"You would see all of greece under the heel of Athenai? Cowering from them like Chided slaves? We spilled blood at Poditia and now we need Allies. The might of Sparta will hold their ambitions! All eyes look on Sparta and this is what you would have them see? From birth a Spartan is trained for one purpose TO DO BATTLE. They dare think themselves you're equal. None can match your skill. It's every Spartans duty to embody the very nature of war. Strike now I beg you!" Man that is some great writing and a hard argument to turn down.
Do I have to buy this for the Spartan faction
No, it's for a mini-campaign that involves the Spartan-Athenian war.
How do I get the Sparta faction
@@phoenixrivera6715 the Greek states dlc
Aooh!! Aooh!! Aooh!!
1:31 bruh💀
Dose anybody still play this thing that cals itself a game?
