Here's Robert Downey Jr's audition tape and screen test for Marvel's Iron Man. What’s interesting is it shows Downey playing the character with less humor than his on-screen performance in the film that has since become one of the character’s trademarks.

ahah it's funny, i was coming down in the comments to see if anybody noticed. The first part of his audition seems rushed, he definitely feels uncomfortable (who wouldn't?) but he seems to be relaxing through the second part. And that final part. Oh, boy, has he fully embraced the Tony Stark persona.

It's great seeing the screen tests. Firstly, I guess because it shows the whole process they go through to get the role. But also you can appreciate their performance a lot more when there isn't the cutting away to different angles, the music, which is great and adds to the film as a whole, but often distracts from the pure performance. Super talented! I'd flub my lines constantly! Lol! Lucky it's not my chosen profession. I'll leave it to the pros! 😋💫
