This is just silly. He created his own interpretation of Tony Stark, so he's going to be good at it - but that doesn't make him one of the best actors ever: he isn't, he's extremely limited. That's OK. You like him - that's nice but to overstate his ability on that basis and talk about him like he's Philip Seymour Hoffman or Michael Fassbender is just ridiculous.
Fun fact: the actor who played Justin Hammer was supposed to be the 1st pick to play the role of Iron Man. But after RDJ's screen test, they HAD to pick Robert.
Aboslute masterclass. Most of this is, as pure acting, better than what ended up in the movie. Absolute control of pacing, energy levels, micromovements....all the markers are there of Tony's continual internal monologue, yet they are subtle enough to miss on a casual viewing. Superb.
He should not have grown the goatee. A goatee typically is defined by sharp angles. That casts an attitude over a facial expression. Downey's face is so expressive and he is also a good looking man.
funny how he mentioned Howard Stark was involved in the manhattan project, meanwhile now RDJ is in Oppenheimer!
thats what I was thinking
DAMN IT... He IS Tony. No questions asked, hands down. One the best actors ever and no one else could pull off Stark like Robert
He's a actor
@@jikosauceHe is an actor, yes- but there’s actually some truth in this comment, if you care to learn more about RDJ and the creation of Ironman.

Surreal how you can see the pieces of what the performance would become.

Thanks for uploading this. Fascinating to watch, knowing the backstory. RDJ will always be the iconic phoenix.
