Such a beautiful story and timepiece. This video is about a watch, but it is also about LOVE. It’s hard to explain to a non watch enthusiast about when you find THE ONE. The watch has to speak to you. Really it needs to sing to you. I’m so glad you found each other!!
Thank you so much for watching! It’s true! It’s my favorite watch of all time. A dream to own and wear! Honestly love at first sight! There is no other piece that brings me as much joy as the Metro!
Hello Craig, I came across your video searching for reviews on the Metro Gangreserve; congratulations on the watch and on the excellent content you are putting out. Your video is 100 times better than so many others I have seen who have borrowed the watch off a dealer in order to do a review and dump a video. Keep it up!!
Cool video mate. Thinking of getting one of these watches so great to see such a down to earth unboxing. Also looking forward to checking out some of your other content especially to geeking out on some fountain pens. Greetings from Australia 👍
I love you and I love this video! I too am somewhat new to watch collecting but trying my hardest to learn as much as I can. This video was excellent, man. Seeing your genuine excitement honestly made me just as excited. Was a great video, not pretentious at all, which I come across a lot when watching watch videos on YT. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much! I was literally shaking when I got this thing and made this review! I am currently wearing it on my wrist and it is my all time favorite! I worked hard to save for these things! Get something that makes you happy! Never buy anything for "Hype" or buy it as solely an "investment," wear them and enjoy them!
@@CraigRoccanova That’s awesome, man! I love that feeling, when you work your ass off for something and it comes to fruition.. best feeling ever. I don’t have much knowledge in regard to quartz watches but would love to see a video of all the watches you inherited from your father. I’m really intrigued and interested to see what all you’ve got. On a belated side note, I’m sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. From what I can tell, you seemed to really admire him, I’m sure he was a great man.
@@jasonc1892 I will make that video! Quartz watches are battery powered watches! The battery sends an electrical charge through a tiny quartz crystal in the shape of a tuning fork that oscillates 32,768 times a second. The circuit then translates that to one single tick! SCIENCE! And thank you, I miss him a lot! 66 was too young for him to go.. cancer is a real jerk
Hey thanks for watching it! I think of all of the brands out there, Nomos feels the most real. Their playful designs and the fact that their social media team actually responds to my instagram messages and tweets means something! Never buy as an "Investment" go with your heart! And I think Nomos is the best! (Sorry I am totally fanboying over here) XD
Super clean.. wonderful looking watch. My grandfather had a really nice watch and that always had me interested in watches. But not to your level. My first watch was a Star Wars watch.. wind up.. still keeps time. After that it was about 5 years before I got another watch and it was a decent watch.. another wind up, but I was a skateboarder at the time and she didn't last long. So, I bit the bullet and bought a G-shock. That watch lasted my entire HS years. The band broke in college and I just kept it in my pocket. After that I looked for watches, but on a seriously limited budget I hadn't purchased a watch till last year. It ties in with magic and it's the Stack watch. It's nice and unnoticed by many.. nothing more than "you have an old style watch?!?". Lol.. eventually I want to get something nicer maybe self powered off the motion of my hand or something. But that is waaaaaay down the road👍👍 thank you for sharing!
That’s awesome! Also Gshocks are legit! There are some really great things from the world of Seiko, Orient, and Casio that won’t break the bank! My bank is definitely destroyed after this purchase! 😅
It’s still my favorite! Keeps great time and looks good for any occasion. I just took it off for the night! Just don’t get it wet and limited options for straps but I love the black shell cordovan ones they come with anyway so it doesn’t bother me!
@Craig Roccanova Hello Craig and thank you for your watches' videos. I am looking to get that watch but I am sure you are well aware of the lack of a quick date set. My question is the following one: "How much of a pain in the butt it is to deal with the date function on this watch?". I watch your other videos and I saw you got a neomatik with the cool quick date set (Metro update 41). Appreciating any feedback Cheers!
It’s not terrible. You can still wind between 9 and 12 to set it but I haven’t allowed the watch to stop more than twice over the last two years so it hasn’t been an issue. When I got it, I had to go through and move the date forward by several days and it took no more than a minute or two. The lack of a quick set definitely isn’t a deal breaker!

congrats on your grail ! beautiful piece
Thank you so much! 11 days straight on my wrist! Couldn't be happier! :D
Great video, love that you saved to get what you wanted. What are your thoughts on the watch after having it a while? It's one I've had my eye on too.

That’s a really fantastic piece
Thanks so much!
Really cool!
That’s really cool, good thing it isn’t broken from that FedEx experience😂
Yeah 😅 I was so worried!
Is that a Dan and Dave magic surface in the background?
Yes it is! It's the Cherry and Bubinga Wood version!
