But I think you know what I mean it's like you suffer through a lot of loneliness before you realize this is nice actually and then you starting to enjoy it. It's almost like you have to go through something to learn the value of it.

The loneliest I've ever been was when I was still drinking because I did it mostly alone at home. Now that I'm sober, and I've repaired relationships with family and friends, I am a lot less lonely these days. Loneliness can suck, but for me it was definitely worse before I got sober! I am so lucky and grateful to have good family support from my parents, siblings, and my nieces/nephews! Great video, and I think the idea for a community is awesome. I hope you can make it work somehow! ❤

What you are revealing takes courage and great insight. Not many people can be this articulate about how low they became, how dark a time it was. Go to AA LD. You can be such a inspiration, go there to be a encouragement to those who think of relapsing. You are great.
Same. Dont hang out with my drinking friends. Had to walk away to save myself. Im not lonely anymore. I do lots of things solo but also can reach out to a selected few.

Hey LD, that’s one of those lessons our parents try to warn us, “the those people are not your real friends”. My mom told me that, I found out the moment I needed something from them and they just weren’t around. I’ve always been the loyal friend and will go out of my way for them, when I love I love hard. Well they let me down. In my 20-30s a had huge group of friends “so called” well now in my 40s o have none. Some people just can’t deal with the bad times just there for the fun fun! It’s not a reflection of me or you or anyone else that has experienced this. Things change, people move on. If you have one or two people in your life that are there for you then you won the jackpot. I think it would be really cool to have a place to connect with the community here ❤.

There are a lot of souls on your path, who probably felt subconsciously convicted to change. There was probably this wall of dissociation taking place within their spirit too; especially while knowing you were transforming but going through all of the shedding processes- first. You made a lot of people take a deep look at their life; and it's scary knowing accountability and healing has to take place. We all run from time to time. I'm so guilty of that as well. You have a lot of love surrounding you - on earth and I am sure, on heaven's side. You just remember that a lot of people wanted to probably stay comfortable in their toxic cycles. You wanted change and were faced with such rapid needs for change and healing in so many ways, it forced you into a whole new energy field as well. You are doing amazing! ---*:*:* and have always been, and always will be*:*: highly favored and worthy; full of promise and purpose. Just don't forget that. Ps. Sorry for your pain and burdens, you're leading a lot to light by being such a transparent advocate. 🙌🏼✨ I send you such light friend. We got you.✨

I started holding patients hands after my Aunt Patti passed. Her body was so tired from the abuse & addiction.
Knowing she passed alone hit me as an 18yo. After that I sat with every patient & would whisper it’s ok to go now. Don’t know where it came from.
I’d bring home dead bunnies on our street even the birds. I’d bury them in our yard. I even saved a mourning dove once in a shoe box. He flew home.
I felt like you … nobody would come visit & it left me so deeply saddened.
The staff would wonder where the frick I went. lol
Knowing Jimmy went alone tears at my soul. Anyway God made me extra sensitive towards others who are lost.
I can identify with them in a way some can’t.

I had the same thing with those Fairweather friends. When I got sick only a few have stuck with me. I really never have felt really lonely, but the boredom of it all can be overwhelming.
In 2020 I lost my father brother and mother in 4mos. 2 mons later my partner went into cardiac arrest. I performed cpr for 20 mins till the ambulance came. He coded 3 times in ambulance. I really felt like God hated me. But what hurt the worst was very few people reached out to me. In fact the ones that did were the least expected. I think a lot of people dont know how to deal with pain. I never rekindled any of those friendships.

I can so relate thank God my daughter calls everyday . A couple friends I know pretty much all my life just stopped coming around or calling . These are the times we find who our true family and friends are . God bless all 💙❤️🙏Thank you LD always a friend here anyone that needs one . We need people in our lives . Five minutes all it takes to just check on each other .
It's funny because when I was surrounded by friends I had to drink to be able to deal wit most of em lol! We had our fun but often times m'frs could be annoying as f but now that I'm sober I for sure miss the group but that chapter has passed I guess, nothing in common and like you said...when you needed them most they didn't give an f, thats exactly how I was treated, it's just the way it is universally I think...so I like the group idea your talking about, i'd definitely appreciate a group like that!

Thanks for this video LD, this actually made me tear up a bit. I am an only child so I dont mind being alone so much, but when you are sick it hits differently. I've always had alot of friends and have always been social, but alot of them I have had to cut out because I cant nor do I want to be in a bar right now, if ever again. My close friends from childhood dont live near me. I think that having some sort of a platform like that would be great! The worst is lying in the hospital after family has left for the day and you are all alone scared and just wanting someone to talk to for those long sometimes sleepless nights alone in the hospital. The relationship you had with that friend that came over was heartearming. I think elderly people suffer the same feelings a lot. I dont have a big family but i have my father, brother and his spouse. I always get down about not having a wife and kids, but i know even that doesnt even solve loniness. Making content on youtube is a great goal to focus on. Been meaning to ask, what othet hobbies do you have or enjoy? Have you thought about writing a memoir?

Depression and loneliness is a very real thing. Trouble is if they are still drinkers they totally don't know how to relate with sobriety, it just makes them think that 'I could be there' and many people can't deal with it. Just stay true to yourself, you are in a far better place and you have an amazing family, don't give up on yourself, you have done the worst part, and come out the other side. As for the thoughts of another channel, just give yourself time, maybe too early? I wish you the best of luck, anybody that has been there knows just what you are going through.

I’ve been very lonely also especially when Mike was at his worst. No one wants to get into the drama and everyone has an opinion on what to do. None of which are welcome when you’re into the thick of things. Now that Mike is gone, I have no use for any of the fair weather people and I’m getting used to being alone and not be so lonely.

Well you know that if they were alcoholics to see you would've made them have to face their own fate. They did you a favor cause they may have triggered you. So glad you did not falter. What about AA, isn't it a platform to be with people to help each other.

Very moving . Your honesty is refreshing. I'm sure this channel is good for you. But I would encourage you to work on your ideal. I think it would benefit many, in many different ways. I think these topics are no longer taboo. When more people show compassion and share experiences, It's always helpful. I remember in treatment, we would just laugh at the crazy stories we all had. That was a safe zone where you could let your guard down. It was very helpful to me, to learn others were in the same boat I was. Prior to that I kept my secrets and issues to myself. As we all later learn a "somewhat functioning" drunk is not as covert as they think. I like that todays generations are learning not to be embarrassed about their problems. In todays world be embarrassed if your not seeking help or support. It's actually a very forgiving world. Smart enough to realize addictions deserve help and compassion like any other disease. Is the world free of judgmental people?? Oh heck no. But very different from 40 years ago. Thank God!!! The stigma and landscape have changed remarkably. Which does not mean to continue on killing your hopes and dreams. But know there are many more resources to help people, willing to help themselves. I think in about 20 years this will be totally destigmatized. Plus AI will be able to spot potential landmines to miss if your smart enough to listen. Degradation, and shame will be in the minority. I think it already is. Enjoy this time in our world. The times they are a changing!! Thank God it's about damm time lolol

Hey!! I'm sorry I'm so late to this! I got home late yesterday and had to hit the hay. I've been thinking about that, too! Discord is great because you can set up different message boards for people to join under different subject lines, and you can have different categories for voice chat. You can see who's in a voice chat, so if someone's there, another person can pop in and start a conversation. Our comment section has been wonderful, but people are receiving comments way later than when they reached out. I'll continue thinking about what's available for this kind of thing, but right off the bat, I loved the idea of discord. Also, I think you can use your cpu, your tablet, and your mobile phone to access it. So it's pretty accessible to all ❤❤❤ I hope everyone had a great weekend!! ❤😊❤
