Blacked out cards slap hard keep it up Bart! The only thing you didn’t mention about the k5 hand was how underrep’d you were, he is probably putting you on lighter, making his largish sizing seem like it could be targetting your weak end as a bluff.
Wesley is hyperfocused on board textures. He loves attacking scary runouts. His favorite thing to do on planet earth is to float weak boards and go ape shit if he has the slightest range advantage. 10 years ago Bart you would preach that barreling weak boards was a big part of your game. Enter: Wesley the antagonist.
I would not gotten to river that way. I'd never checked the turn in the given scenario. This particularly that there is no valid reason to check, and there are many strong reasons to bet. Bet large (80%+). CO Turn check opens door for V to bluff river. (V smelled weakness on turn, which started with rather small 3bet PFR); also river check was the weakness confirmation (BTN read CO with no Q!!). Bluff was coming in full swing. Although, I disagree with him bluffing river against the 3-bettor (!?). What would he put you on when he bluffed river?? I believe he did not put you on anything at all (lol...😂). Conclusion: CO played his cards, BTN played the opponent.
Wow Bart you just earned my respect big time man. Actually admitting that playing pots like this on a show like this actually scares you a little bit and can throw you off. I don’t think most professionals will admit stuff like that. Good shit man 💪💪
I think Wesley is the type since he has the money, almost any time he's going to lose he'll throw a big bet out there on river. Even if he loses it doesn't look bad.
I was told a long time ago that one way to beat the 'level 5' when you are a level 2 is to over bet. It is hard to play technical / GTO when your opponent is making everything an unprofitable risk long term.
Learning legitimate poker from Bart day and night, seeing his runouts are this much disgusting truly shatters my heart. I pull my hair in front of monitor, how he's keeping his cool, thosands of chips rolling towards those plebs..
One of the things that I have heard you and others talk about a fair bit of time is stack depth. Wesley had 11 x your stack. That seems to factor into Wesley's game as well. Stay in the pot until the board is very connected and put max pressure on his opponent?
You don't need to think of logical bluffs. You need to think of the action, and after check check if Wesley thinks you have a Q. Also if you'll call without one
Thank you for sharing. The weakness of pro/maniac is pro will overthink EVERYTHING and maniac knows it. You logically thought through the hand, played text book poker and assumed he was as well. Easy to watch video and have an opinion; harder to do when you are live action. Rampage is doing a good job of going off script and calling. Btw, watching your videos has made me a much better poker player and has helped me fill in a lot of the gaps in my game.
Bart, you're playing a guy who doesn't care about money. He's playing all kinds of hands just for fun. You're logic is good - against players who care about money. These guys on Hustler will just play random hands and call flop with random crap. The only way to beat them is to just play really tight. Don't 3 bet K5s pre. Fold the hand pre!
Tbh against a player who’s known to bluff a lot I wouldn’t have checked the turn AND the river. You underrepresented your hand so of course he felt like you were weak and felt as though a pot size bet on the river would get you to fold. I feel like you would’ve taken this pot had you continued to bet your 2 pair on turn and river. Just my 2 cents. Your breakdown videos are great! You’ll get em next time!
I was wondering if we should block bet the river in hand 1 given Wesley can have T9/JT/J9 as well as AT/AJ (that will likely fold, but still puts them in an annoying position) - obv we should balance this with AQ sometimes (and maybe still some Qx) - I know we should def do this with sets and KJ but I guess K5 might be a little too thin. (but maybe not if he's peeling so wide) As played I do expect Wesley to find bluffs here - i think even stuff like T9 can consider turning their hand into a bluff but probably shouldn't given it beats AK. But ATs, AJs and A5s are all probably better candidates Whether to call or not prob depends on blockers if you do think he's capable of having enough bluffs here. K5d seems like an OK combo to bluff catch bc Wesley won't bluff with a K in his hand he can't have the 5d since Ad5d with no BDFD isn't calling flop. Kc5c would be worse given he can have hands with 5c that bluff. Given the bluffs also come from ATs and AJs it makes K5dd a better bluff catcher than JJ and TT (given he should never have worse value hand for THIS sizing), it's pretty much Qx. Maybe KK but that wouldn't play like this.
Of course Bart is going to get bluffed he WAY overthinks hands. WAY overthinks. On the turn he said to himself "The turns is a J and maybe he has some AQ". Really seriously? Yes he probably has the nuts right now. Guys, it's important everytime a card comes out try to find out how it crushes your hand and prepare to fold! "Let's see could he have a royal flush right now. Ok no, good....". Look at villain's face at 08:55 see that little smirk? He knows you're going to fear the straight.
In the last hand, i woulda gone larger with preflop bet. Splashy game, were always gonna get atleast 1 caller if went say 4k...ideally you only want 1 caller. Is my thinking.
A little surprised Bart didn’t even consider As-10s or As-Xs back door wheel n spade draws on flop and then checking turn to get free look at possible nut river card coming…
Last hand you should really be leading the turn small. This K hits your range and if he has AJ or a flush draw he's v likely going to check back on this turn. And I think you can go 1/3 pot. edit: I didn't even see the result before I posted this but yeah. Makes betting turn small seem even better - just puts his hand in a terrible spot - and you can play this way with your FD like KsTs or a JsXs hand knowing they are protected by you having AK here.
I deal with a lotta psychos like Wesley in my plo games. I check, close my eyes and call a whole bunch of rivers I normally wouldn’t. Seems like against him you have to do a little more of that
I can find a bluff in the AQ vs. Big John hand! 5s6s! 🤣🤣🤣 Seriously, though, you may have just said it prematurely, and I missed the explanation, because somebody talked to me. What made you feel that John "played his hand face up?" Was it because he checked back, so you "knew" he didn't have the straight, and most likely didn't the flush draw?
You also contradict yourself. You say with the small size on flop he hits the turn and river with junk. So when you check.. he's going to have junk a lot of the time. So call
Bart you seem to be over thinking things to much. It’s messing up your game. You lost value on Wesley and mike x. Big John hand was a good fold but if you bet more aggressively he might have folded before river
This is what happens when a tight over thinker plays a loose deep stack. Wes knows you’re short stacked and too tight to call unless you have the nuts. No offense. 😅
You re the fish. Bet flop bet turn never fold river as played. You show a lot of weakness when u have 2 pairs, you are basically at the top of your x/c range on turn and definitely can’t fold river when u beat value T9 JT And some sort of bluffs. Very bad played hand
Analyze callers hands, not really that helpful, man in an actual hand with money on the line? Super funny. Hey dude you short stacked vs giant stack and he’s nuts MAKE THE RIVER CALL lol wow you a true nit. So funny u a coach

Blacked out cards slap hard keep it up Bart!
The only thing you didn’t mention about the k5 hand was how underrep’d you were, he is probably putting you on lighter, making his largish sizing seem like it could be targetting your weak end as a bluff.

Block river?
Against Wesley 2 pair is like a royal flush. Snap call.

I had the same exact thought
Being honest to yourself and learn from your mistakes it is a sign of great poker player and also giving u a lot outside of poker
I love how Bart talks about the hand like Wesley has any idea how to play poker
Lol exactly
I think you're underestimating how far Wesley's progressed since his debut on HCL.
Is Wesley a winning player?
My takeaway from watching this is just how powerful aggression can be.
I think Wesley is the type since he has the money, almost any time he's going to lose he'll throw a big bet out there on river. Even if he loses it doesn't look bad.
I think Bart is giving Wesley too much credit in the analysis. Bart thinks on level 5 whereas Wesley is on 2 or 3.
haha, Wesley is not playing GTO. He is more like a average player who has tons of money to burn.
I was told a long time ago that one way to beat the 'level 5' when you are a level 2 is to over bet. It is hard to play technical / GTO when your opponent is making everything an unprofitable risk long term.
Great point. 👍
I think you underestimated Wesley.
Wouldn't playing at a "level 5" require recognizing the level that an opponent is playing at?
Learning legitimate poker from Bart day and night, seeing his runouts are this much disgusting truly shatters my heart. I pull my hair in front of monitor, how he's keeping his cool, thosands of chips rolling towards those plebs..

When they see you as a nit they don’t need “logical bluffs”
Exactly. They know you are going to think it through and notice that there aren’t any “logical bluffs” and then you will fold.
If only mike went all in on the river. :D So much fun watching you get bluffed! Thanks for sharing
On that river I was screaming A5 of spades! 56s! Haha sorry Bart
You don't need to think of logical bluffs. You need to think of the action, and after check check if Wesley thinks you have a Q. Also if you'll call without one
I really like a turn bet on K 5 hand don’t think Wesley pots it on river facing two barrels

I think fold was fine there. Good play by Wesley to pick up on the spot to bluff any 2 cards he had at the end.

AcKc vs. Mike: Why did you immediately discount/Did you ever consider 66, considering the overcall, second call? Why/why not?

reasonable call, smart taking free card, and great bluff with obviously second hand imo.
Like the fold there. 5x is the most logical bluff, and you block it.

@crushlivepoker should the initial 3 bet been bigger? 3x seems small here.
wesley has a good read on Bart. 👍 great hand
In the last hand, i woulda gone larger with preflop bet. Splashy game, were always gonna get atleast 1 caller if went say 4k...ideally you only want 1 caller. Is my thinking.

Someone once told me at a table while scooping a pot that scared money is free money.....
20:20 10-7 of spades but thats such a weak hand to have there but could make sense
I’ve watched 2000 BART vids to get into the mind of a overthinking poker genius
29:19 wesley smiling at the board runnout like a sadistic little freak.
Why couldn’t he have A10 off? (first hand) I think Bart out thinks himself a lot especially against loose players
Last hand you should really be leading the turn small. This K hits your range and if he has AJ or a flush draw he's v likely going to check back on this turn. That last one I think you should have shoved the turn but what do I know.
Jam river with AK. looks like a bluff. Maybe get called by worse two pair?
I'm thinking Wesley has KJ on the turn ...leaving comment @ 6 min mark
@@Broke_Stacker he checked the turn .. so my guess was way off 😣
Wesley took Bart to school.
Bart playing scared 😂
Bart mega nit lol...still love his analysis tho
I deal with a lotta psychos like Wesley in my plo games. I check, close my eyes and call a whole bunch of rivers I normally wouldn’t. Seems like against him you have to do a little more of that
Either block bet $1000 or check call upto Pot, otherwise too easily exploited. Specially young kid like Wesley
I block hearts and hard to find a bluff here bro
I can find a bluff in the AQ vs. Big John hand! 5s6s! 🤣🤣🤣
Seriously, though, you may have just said it prematurely, and I missed the explanation, because somebody talked to me. What made you feel that John "played his hand face up?" Was it because he checked back, so you "knew" he didn't have the straight, and most likely didn't the flush draw?
Wesley’s range is I have you out chipped 10-1 with Position 😮
Why can’t Mike X have A10 of spades?
Underrepped 2 pair, Gotta call that.
Wesley has your number bro.
You also contradict yourself. You say with the small size on flop he hits the turn and river with junk. So when you check.. he's going to have junk a lot of the time. So call
great catch
Well I’m sure his chip stack gives him a little confidence
Bart over analyzes and talks too much makes this shit more complicated than it needs to be.
Wesley is savage
Bart you seem to be over thinking things to much. It’s messing up your game. You lost value on Wesley and mike x. Big John hand was a good fold but if you bet more aggressively he might have folded before river
This is what happens when a tight over thinker plays a loose deep stack. Wes knows you’re short stacked and too tight to call unless you have the nuts. No offense. 😅
Check check just looks weak -- of course guys bet on the river.
Why can't you bet that river how he bet it with 88? Or A10? or AJ or any other trash hand. He's only NOT betting with a set or a better 2 pair.
come to think of it, why not put out a 1400 bet yourself on the river?
After hero checks turn and river, Wes is betting any 2pair or better but he is probably using a smaller size.
It was a rough run out. Qx holdings seemed very likely. Fold and pick a better spot.
He could have 66 77 or 88
There are very few hands he couldn’t have. Including all missed hands.
People laughing at dude. Do you think Ivey thinks like Bart on any hand he’s ever played? Think about that. Nope
Tal looks like the weasel from Ice Age
Haha yea he does
With $220k in his stack he can push you all day long.

Shrug call for just 3k with 2 pair there. Definition of scared money
ok buddy
@@CrushlivePoker sorry Bart that's just me feeling here. Thanks for sharing your thought process though with these hands
Mike is probably trying to get a free river… why would you let him get a free river? Bet $8000 on turn. And check river.
Man let them play
You need to understand that most of these players are donks with money, and you are overthinking against them.
Ehhh Wesley is not that smart. Cmon.
These are some nasty spots… I hate 1-liners…
is he getting a massage _at_ the table? Is that a normal thing in high stakes poker? makes him seem like a mob boss 😭
Yes very common
Almost every hustler casino clip has one of the players getting a massage
also common in low-stakes card rooms, the WSOP, etc.
Triple barrel u nitt
Bet river ... I don't think Wesley is good enough to raise the river repping Q
I just think Wesley’s a cheat and there’s nothing you can do lol

Bart, love the content! just can’t handle the swallowing sounds you make every 15-20 seconds. Maybe drink some water? Or back off the mic a bit
getting that piece on flop woth pair and back door, calling with 65s can’t be that bad.
It would be fine headsup but I disagree with a player behind. You simply cannot continue as often.
