This was the first BF map I ever played way back when I was in middle school and it was brand new. It's still my platonic ideal for a BF map over a decade later.
I think this map is also one of the most beautiful in the all the BF world. To me this is an important ingredient to inspire people to play. It contributes to the over all experience and atmosphere. Just look at the skies, the sand dunes and more on this map. I know you do not put Alborz Mnts as a "good map". But that also is a very beautiful map.
This may be great map on PC but on console it was one of the absolutely worst because of how big it was with the reduced player count. BF2042 original maps have nothing on this empty map. Further adding to its problem was BF3 console seriously degraded graphics and blinding sun.
I generally think that is a pretty subjective question because of just how different most games feel. Movement also features into that as well. You probably have a reasonable split between people loving the gunplay of BF3, 4, 1, V, and 2042. I tend to lean the BF1, V, and 2042 route simply because of the smooth feel that each has as opposed to the often clunky feel that older titles had. But again, i think its up to the gamer.
I am going to say most likely not - simply because BC1 and 1943 were console only titles and I didnt play them. 1943 might be a minor exception, but i think the most realistic expectation is a mention of their design in a 1942 map video which they were based on. I think Ive made mention of them in the Wake Island and Coral Sea videos. I just truly wouldnt be able to identify the differences reliably or give a first-hand account of gameplay.
Possibly. I have plans to review at least two of them but its much more difficult. I dont like to review maps if I dont have a ton of experience on during their prime. In addition, not having any spectator tool in BC2 makes that kind of video much more difficult.
@@middaymeds I would go as far as to say it's at best mediocre. Unlike other vertical maps, Monte Grappa is a sniper camping fest, where attackers can sometimes be entirely stopped on second sector. As for Conquest - it's same but this goes for team that manages to lose high mountain flags
Monte Grappa is an interesting one. As a few others here have mentioned, it doesnt really fit in either Best or Worst category. When I get the Mid-Tier list going, It will definitely be there!
2 things: One, I hear you’re collabing with Catalyst, and I’m all for that. Two: I know you covered Propaganda (BF4) but do you ever plan to cover the other Dragon’s Teeth maps?
Yes to both. There is an upcoming collaboration with Catalyst where you will essentially hear my thoughts on the Conquest Versions of all current 2042 maps (albeit in far less detail than I would like :D). The other dragons teeth maps will be covered in due time, but not in the short term. The remaining 3 maps - Sunken Dragon, Pearl Market, and Lumphini Garden, are all different levels of the Mid-tier quality, and as such they will fit in that category once I start that series.
Even a brief Gravity analysis feels like more than enough for me (compared to the 0 people that do what you do), so I’m hyped for another video regardless. Also, even Pearl Market?? :( Even with differing opinions, Im excited to know you have plans to cover your middle-ground maps!
All good. All maps are subjective in terms of enjoyability. I do the same thing. With regard to Bandar, I just hold it as the best vehicle dominant map since BF3. If you can name a better map with more than 3-4 tanks per team since, ill definitely rethink this one.
This map on pc must be amazing, but on ps3 was a nightmare. 12v12 in a giant map just turned the game in a marathon simulator for me
Crazy that DICE didn't attempt to remake this map in 2042
fr its just simply copy and paste lol, they just need to make the house and construction sight.
This channel is criminally underrated. Keep it the good work dude!
Much appreciated!
I am a simple man.
I see a Gravity map analysis, I watch it
You've been killing it with the uploads recently! Another great vid as per usual

Hands down my best BF map ever is Sharqi Peninsula. Definitely not the BF3 DLC version but the BF2 o.g.
Definitely in my top 10, fursure!
Sharqi will definitely an appearance soon!
Sharqi was pretty much designed to be a regular Conquest map, why they only gave it Conquest Assault I will never understand

Yea, i didnt even consider the console limitations. Thanks for pointing that out. I can imagine it being extremely empty.
Great map breakdown gravity. Really enjoyed this. We need some BF3 brought to 2042
Oh how I miss having a set number of tanks, helis, jets, etc. on every map. Worked so much better
Yeah. It makes for more interesting dynamics. These days people just take whatever vehicle they want.
Nice vid love this series. What do you think which BF had the best gunplay?

wow i feel old :(, what a classic
I hope they bring back tank destroyers in the next battlefield game, I loved playing them.
Another great review! I wonder though if you will ever review a map from Bad Company 1 or 1943.

To see how much thought went into these older Bf Maps and how it compares to 2042 just shows how incompetent the new DICE devs are.
I love to see it!

Great video!can you make a video about monte grappa?
Imo it's not great enough for this series. Good map, not great.

True, but i would to see him make a video analysing the map. I dont care if its in the Best or worst map series

Love your content but I absolutely hated this map.

every current DICE dev should be forced to watch these videos
