You absolutely hit the nail on the head with your analysis of this map. Many other players, and YT'er for that matter, have been just saying that the RU team always loses, but you quickly dispelled this and correctly identified that the map is just much easier to full cap due to its layout and lack of transports, a sentiment I have shared since the first time playing it! Seriously great job with this. (As always) You demonstrate you intricate knowledge of how BF maps play, and I seriously hope that more people see this video. Great work!
Excellent breakdown. And as someone who flies the NB a lot on this map, this is THE map that least favors the NB the most due to its severe lack of high cover and the dune being the only reliable source of cover and personally I think that's fine since bad pilots do not last long on this map. My biggest complaint about the map is the lack of types of sight line breakers between flags to be honest. And the fact that defenders for D flag are basically forced into a turkey shoot by attackers coming from C is another issue, not to mention how hard it is to break out of the gimme flag when it is the only flag your team has. Otherwise I do enjoy the door to door urban combat that is offered on this map. Adding LATVs or fast transport vehicles is a good start. As for the TOR, it's actually quite a nasty piece of work on this map since they introduced the Canister co-axial and the Canister gunner seat due to the map design. Overall I'd rate it a 7/10 (since I play it mostly on CQ and BT only a couple of times) for CQ. Not a bad map, but requires a lot initiative from the team to not get base camped.
In terms of Battlefield 2042 map pool, this one stands off really well, because we don't have many infantry-focused maps. So i tend to like this map, despite it's obvious flaws that you mentioned in your video. But the missed opportunities bothers me, especially the one with the Centurion AA on B Point - they should've done that.
I really agree. Despite my mid rating, Ive enjoyed it more than most other 2042 maps because of the detail, atmosphere, and freedom it provides. So while fun, I keep grinding my teeth every other minute and notice something that could be much better. :D
Brilliant analysis and advice again Gravity! Now that BF2042 has officially been cancelled I can only hope that DICE watches your videos or that you are asked to give advice on their next title because man it would improve it a lot. Your suggested improvements for this map would make it a whole lot better, because after such a long break this was the best map that DICE could make? It is so incredibly disappointing. Anyway, keep up the great work!
Wish they'd been inspired by Rotterdam and made the C flag on Haven similar to Rotterdams C flag. It's one of my favorite urban flags, it's so fun to fight over both attacking and defending
my experince on this map is bad because i'm in a Middle East server wich is less populated and you have maybe 200 players peak time and because of the absence of team balancer and the game put most good players on one side and they have experincet vehicle players and the other team has few good players so the match become one sided always , great video as always Gravity 🔥.
Is it not just a remix of that old Bad Company 1 MP only oasis/desert map??? Damn, now I want BF BC 1 Remastered on PC and modern consoles with cross-platform... PS: 16:40 BASED take on TOR Tank, instantly ruined by bad take on Stationary AAs...
@@GravityBFTV BF had proper different types of stationary gun emplacements since Project Eagle. Stationary Stingers, Essex and other AA have their time and place and proper use timing. It is all about server situation - if there is or there is not a tryhard, no-life or at least decent pilot in the air.
My opinion looks like im in the minority then as i think this map goes back to BC2 style maps. Infantry focused with a few vehicles to support. Favourite map so far.
While I like this map quite a bit, it is definitely flawed and is a map you either do really well on or have a terrible round based on many factors. While the new urban layout is nice to have in 2042, DICE decided to go with door to door combat rather than street to street which worked well on Amiens, Karkand, and Sharqi.
Personally I've had really good games on this map and it's my favorite from the 2042 map pool next to Redacted and Exposure. Still not perfect, but it feels like the new DICE team has finally figured out how to actually design maps
While its not my favorite, I enjoy it a lot more than previous season maps. The level design and detail has come a long way. I enjoy playing it more than most others in 2042.
I thought the exact same thing! Before the servers were shut down recently, I played some Bad Company 1 and the 16 or so copy pastet buildings on Haven are the same asset as one of the main building assets in BC1… how lazy they have become
Criticism is fair. But I don't think adding more indestructible buildings would solve the issue, because they would just create more tight pathways that can be pummeled by explosives (a problem we will probably encounter on Stadium). Grenades and underbarrels aren't good at destroying buildings, so most houses staying like that is fine. i would rate it about 6.5. It really is enjoyable most of the time.
fair take and score. For me it was a tossup between 5 and 6. I only gave a 5 because I didnt split breakthrough. As for the indestructible buildings, I dont necessarily want to add a ton of them or replace all the houses, just a spare mix of the two. Where they go would be something I wouldnt dare recommend, since it would definitely require testing.
"it comes across as Half-Baked something which had great potential but fell far short" Welll that's 2042 in a nutshell. My main sin of the map is "Been there, seen that" visual and gameplay feel of the map. The previous maps had more ambition.
I cant play haven map unless i go to browser servers . I could pick to go to it from the main choices when it 1st came out. Now i can only find browser hame with 12 people playing. Anyone have this problem?

Mackay and his grapple hook single-handedly ruin the map
“.…ruins 2042.” Fixed that
Now I understand why you laughed during our conversation an I mentioned Suez lol. Amazing break down.

it's as if all the maps of 2042 were made by ai
Huh? Worse they were made by a committee.
Orbital is fun
I'm guessing the people of this particular town didn't like furniture, or fitted kitchens 😁

Excellent analysis with comments on how to improve. Now all we need is a team that listens.
They should've dropped support for this game long ago
It really does play a lot like suez
Finally another upload, ty
Its a good day when Gravity drops a new video!
Great video as always.
Oooh, time to get a second cup of coffee, new Gravity video! 😊
Good assessment!
I would have liked no air assets or a serious buff to the AA, plus the C1 buildings need to be usable, rather than blocked..

Ha. ill take the heat on those.

I'm all for reusing assets, but Dice pls make some different buildings! We've been running through the same ones for like 15 years..

Best map of 2042. Loving it
Glad you enjoy it! It certainly has its fun moments! I also have more fun on it than what came across in this video.

This map was a big disappointment for me, and prompted me to finally uninstall for good.
Conclusion: DICE can't make good maps anymore.
😭 when they used to make the best
This game is so bad
After playing The Finals, BF destruction feels so dated and underwhelming..
