Ticket bleed in BF3 is what kills a lot of maps. GB and Azadi would be alright at higher player counts but they last FOREVER and the matches typically alternate between either team doing a full cap. Even if they full capped with the proper amount of ticket bleed the matches wouldn’t be too bad
Agreed, but this affected all maps, not just the good ones. The slow ticket bleed was also in every BF game prior to BF3, so people were sort of just used to it. They did speed it up in BF4, thankfully, but then you still have even flag count maps like hangar or whiteout or dragon valley which lasted more than 45 minutes.
Grand Bazaar is probably the peak of BF3 art aesthetic. I personally think the CQS version played the best but I played it the most on PS3 so I have some bias. There wasn't nearly as much meat grinding with 24 players.
Never expected a re-review, but this was still a very good reassessment on this (still classic) map! BTW, I'm curious for your opinion (as well as others') on this: what's your worst BF3 LAUNCH map? Obviously, many of us will say Alborz or Nebandan for the entire map selection, but I never see anyone mention the base maps since most were really awesome 😃
Caspian is mediocre in all game modes but Tehran is probably worse just for the 1st rush obj and the open sight lines on CQ. Every other launch map at least has a decent Rush variant if the CQ one is bad like noshar or damavand
ooo this is a fascinating question. Going to be honest here, its superrrrrr subjective. It depends on whether you played mostly rush or conquest, or played on PC or Console. For what its worth, in my mind, MOST of the BF3 launch maps have mediocre map design, but they remain very memorable. So picking a worst is difficult. If I was to pick a bottom three, it would be Metro, Tehran, and Kharg. None of them fall into the worst category, though. All of these are on my shortlist for videos, so hopefully I can get to them soon.
Would you be willing to make a general map tier list for each bf map (bf3 bfv etc) where you quickly go over the pros and cons like some others have? I think it would be fun and popular
Possibly. It may come to that as I work my way through a lot of the maps. What I dont want to do is necessarily lump a map into a category without giving it serious thought, and then have to correct it later. That was something that clearly happened here with Bazaar, and there have been 2 other maps recently Ive worked on where Ive recategorized them during the scripting process because I realized my preconception was wrong.
I remember this map very fondly from back in the day and would often list it among my top 10 BF maps of all time. But ngl I managed to find a server for it that was full maybe 2 or so years ago and sheesh it was def rougher than I remembered. I was a bit of a noob back in the BF3 days so I didn't have the knowledge to critically analyze a map like I do now and my revisit def made me realize I had nostalgia glasses on. Still a great map but it isnt quite the god tier map I remember it as. Same with metro, idk how I used to play 64 player metro servers non stop in those day lmao
This map can be very fun or very infuriating. One thing that really pisses me off about it is how the B flag attracts a lot of blueberries like a moth to a flame. Everyone just ignores the other flags so the enemy team would just cap them with no resistance, and the team wouldn't even get B cause they would just die from the meatgrinder.
Yea, its funny, I had been planning to redo this video into the mid-tier category for a few months now, but I played BF3 this week and spent 30 minutes being locked in the RU spawn suffering in a game that ended 900-0. I think I made the right call :D
Grand Bazaar was one of the best maps
Agreed.
I feel like if the community remembers having fun on it, that's worth a few points.
Never said it was bad or wasnt fun. People can have fun on any map!

It all comes down to player counts. Grand Bazaar with 24 players is fine. With 32+ it's an explosive spam clusterfuck.
This is 100% true. A lot of the BF3 base game maps worked far better on console because it was limited to 24 players.
@@GravityBFTVI noticed this when moving to PC after playing BF3 for 1000 hours on PS3.
If there's a map I'm curious to see you talk about it's Tehran highway. More so for rush than any other mode granted.
Tehran is soooooo weird. Its been like that since launch. Its definitely on my list, and one where I cannot ignore talking about the Rush layout.
Loved setting up in the alleyway with a friend and two lmgs and keeping it locked down the whole match

Hiding from the IFV and grenade spam on this map was a constant battle 😂 I liked to skirt around the edges of the map to hunt the IFV and flankers
Always a great day when Gravity uploads
BF 3 should have had all of its maps reworked for PC version, tbh.

This map would slap if it had like 2 extra lanes. I also am veru shocked its never been remade
Check out the most recent video. Chinatown is the remake :)
Man I miss this game
Interesting collateral options when playing Rush here.
0:08 what's the map with green auroras?
Narvik from BFV in the Airborne mode.
Iconic but mid-tier for me as well. I much prefer full on urban maps.
these smaller maps were best played at around 40 players, like the then DICE CEO once said
Weak SOY take. 64 PC Standard or don`t make the map at all.
Mid? MID? This is the last dr-... fine I'll watch first. But I am a little angy.
Dang! China Town looks so good! I'm still sad I missed Hardline. The beta was so fun! But I only had the 360 back then, so I didn't buy
This map was horrible when the teams weren't very balanced. 😂 I remember being spawn killed and base camped alot. Great overview 😊

This map was so close to perfect dang it. But where it failed it failed miserably
