I asked Bethesda support to define what they mean by the term "Plays." Still, you can go to the vale whenever you want, not only during the Dawnguard questline.
I keep hearing people wishing that new armor models be added to these things. This may be problematic if the Verified Creator wants the mod to be available for PC, Xbox and PS. We know that PS mods are not allowed to include some elements that PX and XBox mods can have. Therefore, by working only with assets that are common to all platforms, the issue is rendered moot. What would work is if the game were to receive another update including a wide variety of new skins for weapons, armor and a variety of other items. This way, future creations can include new gear-based appearance options, beyond the scope of the base assets. However, we all know what happens every time the game itself receives updates. Do we want mods to break yet again and need yet another update pass just for the sake of new cosmetic assets that work on all platforms (actually just the one platform that refuses to get with the times and allow what their competition allows)? The less Bethesda has to break modding to support modding, the better. Frankly for TES6 and Starfield, I'm hoping that the skins for all items include color regions based on "material 1, material 2 etc" type designations. Want a variant of armor that has black leather, gold plating and red cloth, then adjust the RGB values for those materials. For items with Gemstones in them, a color region for the gemstones would be logical. Let each regon be able to take RGB values.
I would 100% buy these if they added like 2-3 achievements per creation(if it’s big enough) an achievement for fully decking out a house. And enabling the achievements on “modded” play through a
They are working on a solution to allow Verified Creators to enable achievements for their creations. However, new achievements would require an actual update to the game itself by Bethesd, which will once again break the game for a lot of heavy mod users because many mods would then require updating to work with the latest updated version of the game. The less that has to happen, the better.

I'm just gonna point out that this sounds extremely entitled. Saying you won't pay for it because there are free mods that can get you the same kind of experience is valid. But saying that you won't pay for it because it "should" be free implies that you think it's your right to be given free content that takes tens or hundreds of hours of unpaid volunteer work by mod authors... and that's not a good look.
@@peterlewis2178 I agree. I aint gonna lie, I am sore for it.
So for these creations that Bethesda endorses will they disable achievements if I buy and install them or will they be like the rest where I can still get achievements?
Paid mods will be the death of modding. What makes Skyrim endlessly replayable is that you can run 100 to 200 mods and explore what the community has created. These are labors of love. The moment they become enterprises is the moment we see a hellscape of trash mods designed to make the modder money develop. There's already a system in place to pay modders for their work via tips. This is just a way for Microsoft and Bethesda to take a cut of it.
When I watched this video and then read the comments seeing how that even though you have to pay for it you don't get achievements. They should just make the forgotten Vale creation level locked level 20 and above. Then you would already have most of the achievements by the time you actually would reach it
it is still " you can find just as good, similiar or even better on nexus" and it is not that you shouldnt buy paid mods, it is that you should not buy less than smart mods. like the armor mods, that horse armor mod....
I bought the anniversary edition because it had everything. I don't regret it but I didnt realize they would then add more paid mods. They didn't add new paid mods for so long.
Yeah I might consider spending a little bit on these, but I don't think I would buy anything substantial unless they did a big sale like anniversary edition a few years down the line.
I stopped playing when they turned the Mods tabs into the creations tab on Xbox a couple months back. Can someone tell me did they end up reversing this change? I HATED it. Made it so hard to find mods.
I just got my Skyrim working after months of fiddling around with mods and everything else. After their last update, it seems like they do this on purpose.
I really think Bethesda totally screwed the pooch with The Forgotten Vale, for such a large world space it could have been its own DLC. Incorporating it into Dawnguard seemed completely out of place in regards to the Vampire questline. I think if it was deployed as a means to further illustrate the fall of the Snow Elves as a race, would have been a much more interesting and immersive adventure. How many people do you know that keep returning there after the Dawnguard questline is finished? Me personally, I only went back there once after the Dawnguard was completed, and only because I figured out what the Paragons were for and how to use them, because of UA-camr videos on those items. As far as having to go back there for enchanting or alchemical ingredient needs, there's no purpose to, which was another missed opportunity from Bethesda. Oh cool, Vale Deer and Vale Sabrecats with unique skins, but oh, they only give you plain leather that you can farm from every other shinned animal, there were no uniquely different uses for them in looks or utility. A vast landscape with nothing you can't find in the base game other than Frost Giants, wow... as I said, what a missed opportunity. It's nice to see mod authors utilizing the Ayleid construction kit they added, but too little, too late.
I can happily play this area of the DLC just fine without paying more money for it I mean, mods could be fun but the base game is better considering you already paid enough money for all DLC content and the game is just as good, you won't get anything better as a reward for achieving anything
I would actually consider buying these if I could actually buy them and not shitty currency. Its an anti-consumer business practice designed to obfuscate the price and have people buy more useless currency than they need.
The presence of ‘Paid Mods’ has destroyed any faint glimmer of hope that Elder Scrolls 6 will be good for me. After all these years and the disaster that is Starfield, I’ll probably just not buy it, assuming it even ever comes out at all at this point (it’s been 13 years)
I could be mistaken but this looks like the dlc from the newest version of skyrim that you can upgrade too which to me was definitely worth it. The special edition or whatever it was called to me was worth 10 dollars to upgrade for extra content.
how does this affect/interact with mod collections from nexus. i havent used any of the creation mods so far partly because i dont want to conflict with what i aready have

This "Captain Velen" (if that's how it's spelled) I doubt has lost his mind. Maybe he's an eccentric guy with many coping mechanisms. Perhaps he's going through some shit and is scared of everybody. Maybe he knows that he needs to be better, but how can he when the odds are (mostly) against him? Maybe he needs friends but he can't get any because of the terrifying situation he's in. If they fear for his humanity why would they add to his suffering? They don't need to apologize but they need to see that he's right and he knows what he's wants in life even if they see him as stupid and pathetic. He can be better when he's home so he can evolve properly. I think we all know that I'm not on about some captain Velen from Skyrim. I'm on about me. Ha, but I still want to go home. :)
Ever notice how the ancient falmer windows and doors design looks similar to the modern designs they use with Chaurus parts. Its almost like they subconsciously gravitated towards a creature that was similar to their old architecture even without seeing it. Or it could even indicate the chaurus were part of ancient falmer life prior to seeking dwemer aid
The problem is the game is 15 yrs old or older and most mods have been around since. I read several mods where the modders quit playing or just quit working on mods. I've ran across several mods that doesn't work anymore. Also the game was full of bugs and glitches when it was put out for sale. Adding mods is taking a chance. You never know if they'll work unless you test them. So many mods needs to be updated fixed or taken off the game

Skyrim is definitely a game that appeals to completionists, but a lot of people never unlocked all the achievements because they played the game with mods or across the old versions SSE.
Anybody found the entire Initiate’s Raiment set yet? I can’t find the body armor and helmet!
There is no reality where I pay for mods, especially from a AAA company
a triple A company who realises a game once every decade. my take is they should have made another DLC by now which would have been great for them and for the players, we would finally get more actual cannon content and voice acted content instead of reading a note every 5 minutes. would happily pay £30 or so if they did a big DLC.
Ummm anyone know what they did on the switch, it got a large update and all i was able to find was info about bug fixs in dec? Couple nights ago was a large update i think 8 gb

It is actually kinda cool to play this way. The mod creator really did a bang up job on providing new content that made me want to revisit Skyrim.
I love just watching you play skyrim
I don't care, I'm not paying for mods that should be free.
agreed
I'm just gonna point out that this sounds extremely entitled. Saying you won't pay for it because there are free mods that can get you the same kind of experience is valid. But saying that you won't pay for it because it "should" be free implies that you think it's your right to be given free content that takes tens or hundreds of hours of unpaid volunteer work by mod authors... and that's not a good look.
@@peterlewis2178
I agree. Paid mods definitely shouldn't come at the expense of limiting access to free mods, but as long as that's not the case it's not a bad thing for mod authors to choose to make money from their work. They also definitely shouldn't be used as a replacement for dlc, and they could potentially set a bad precedent for how Bethesda monetises their own dlc.

I buy the creation club content, I play vanilla Skyrim and like that they don't disable achievements. Also lore friendly and adds to the core game is something I enjoy.
As a ps5 player, I will take what I can get. I have about 1000 hours on Skyrim Vanilla Survival Legendary as a cured vampire lord with dual katanas while I gave Serana Harkons sword and Goldbrand so Everything feels very immersive and done the VANILLA way.
I gave up the PS5 version. Actor fade distance is almost right in front of me on it with no option to adjust it like the PC version. Not to mention having started with the PS4 edition, paid for the anniversary edition, to get the free upgrade to PS5 and find out I have to BUY the anniversary edition "again" for the PS5 version as it doesn't get included with the upgrade. PC version for me.

Hi ESO I love ur videos they are great
When I watched this video and then read the comments seeing how that even though you have to pay for it you don't get achievements. They should just make the forgotten Vale creation level locked level 20 and above. Then you would already have most of the achievements by the time you actually would reach it

I bought the anniversary edition because it had everything. I don't regret it but I didnt realize they would then add more paid mods. They didn't add new paid mods for so long.
I didn’t mind paying for the anniversary edition because £12 for all that content was way too good not to get. But this isn’t really in that category.

I got that shit included in a sale PlayStation was doing for the full game, all DLC, and this update for like $18 so I’m stoked on it
If it's a paid mod, it doesn't count.
I just got my Skyrim working after months of fiddling around with mods and everything else. After their last update, it seems like they do this on purpose.

Is Echoes of The Vale a Mod or can you download it to regular play?
So they didn't add 23 new locations then did they!
why does the mod creator only get 30%? thats stupid.
Is echoes of the vale safe to add to a current playthrough?
Just a heads up that Robin Hood game came out yesterday on steam,I grabbed it
If you get the full game in the PS4 plus pro it includes this and more mods including dawnstar and dragon born dlc
12,000 players, this mod on Playstation, are all paid mods because Sony doesn't allow external mods
I stopped playing Skyrim as soon as they introduced pay to play. It’s sat in my Steam tray waiting to be updated…..and that’s where it’s staying.
Did it add the Ancient Falmer snow crown? I need to know now
Eight dollars? Man where are we gonna get that kind of money?
Why do I feel like I saw the dungeon with the river and waterfall with spiders like 8 years ago
It’s DLC (dawnguard content)
Yayyyy! Skyrim video 👌

By the way echoes of the vale has been updated to 1.2 adding two dungeons and a pet vale saber cat.
Is this compatible with the two current eso mod lists ?

0:39 I get the Paid Creations. Mainly because I consider the Paid Creations to be canon, to a degree.
you crazy if you think the official mods are cannon, let alone the creation club. theres literally a robot from portal in the official mods list
@@leviathan903 I am not talking about mods that add things from other franchises, but ones that I personally think would blend in with the lore of Elder Scrolls quite nicely. Point in case, the Legacy of the Dragonborn Museum Mod, and the Rigmor Series.
@@xprt4hire551 neither of these mods are neither purchasable nor official mods, you get these mods free from nexus. and also very much not canon whatsoever, you are thinking of the term lore friendly. canon means actual events that take place in the story line.

@@leviathan903 Fair enough on your first point. And the Lore Friendly Point. But, I still consider the Paid Creations to be Canon to a certain degree.
@@xprt4hire551 official mods are completely out of the question of being actually canon since they arent made by bethesda, but can be lore friendly, there hasnt been any story based mods yet anyway so there is nothing to base it from, as for lore friendliness, its too early to say as a general rule since its a new feature and we dont know the limits of what they will accept, so far its not bad, dwemer guns were a bit controvercial because its actualy gun powder fueled cannons, but theres evidence of the dwemer using gun powder in es4:morrowind for a trap, howver guns themselves is questionable. on the other hand, Creation club (cc) content, that came all free with anniversary edition, are much more controversial because they are actually made by bethesda studio, at first people considered it cannon, however they ended up released cc content such as the Umbra sword which is supposed to have ran its story to the end and is completely destroyed one of the best stories of eso lore btw i recommend, also sunder and wrathguard being in skyrim in the time line wouldnt make sense keening was transported to skyrim, that is cannon from the base game. basically most cc releases arent considered cannon
I purchase in game mods and use free mods. I'm fine with it. If you wait long enough you can usually get the in game mods for free or discount prices.
