    I don't quite understand why people will watch someone's video and talk trash. People talk trash about Lenny, Lenny's wife and the pistols he sells and parts he is showing you for free how to install. WOW. I like Lenny's videos and I've learned a few things watching them. Lenny runs a money making business and he's been very successful at it, wish I could say the same thing. 😀

      I agree. Just because he supports white nationalists and rubs elbows with neo-nazis from time to time is no reason to hate the man. His videos are great and that's why I watch them.

    I am so impressed with Mr. Magill's knowedge and more important his low key approach to explaining and demonstrating his products. Not at all overbearing or hard sell. I have watched several videos and he tells you what works and what doesn't. I don't normally customize my hand guns. I just buy and shoot, but after watching his videos I plan to make some upgrades. I may even go to his Nashville store. It's only 2 hour drive from my house in Tennessee. Thanks Mr. Magill for employeeing Americans to do your work.

      The thing that sticks out during concealment is the butt end of the grip. Not the barrel.
      So I would much rather have a 4" G23 barrel with a short G27 grip sacrificing rounds than what he has.

    Actually that "gimmick" green dot is a rubber plug. It's beneficial to the hollow point by not allowing it to clog from clothing thus, having less chance of failure to expand and penetrate correctly.

    Just recently took some round files to a G27. A trigger guard undercut makes it much more ergonomic and comfortable as does Pearce PG-2733 pinky extensions with the top lip shaved off to stop pinching. Also, a threaded G23 barrel gives 100 more fps to Underwood 200gr Hard Cast. All that, plus a 9/16-24 compensator gives faster follow-up shots against lions, and tigers, and bears, oh my! Woods carry ready!

    That plug in the horneday round is there for a few reasons. The major reason is say it’s winter and you have to shoot. If you’re shooting center mass you’re going to go through a coat, sweatshirt , shirt and who knows. If you hit jean material you’re going to get that material inside the hollow point. Now your hollow point is going to act like ball ammo and it won’t split.
    Horneday added that filler so once it starts going through stuff the filler will start to make the bullet spread. It’s not just a marketing thing. If I can find the video where they were talking about it I’ll post for reference. They actually show what happens with various loads.
    I think it may have been an iV8888 video

  • @TheDime4life

    I absolutely love when someone says it's easier to conceal because it has the shorter barrel. If people would think you would realize the grip is what sticks out when you carry.

    • @samlott99
      @samlott99 6 років тому +9

      The longer barrel can jab someone and make it harder to move around, or sit down. The grip will cause a bulge no matter how big or small.

    • @Viper3870750
      @Viper3870750 6 років тому +4

      I thought I was the only one who thought this way. I couldn't understand why he'd want to use this G23 mag in his G27 when it's the grip is what's causing the gun to print through the shirt. I have a G23 and want to downsize to a G27 for the shorter grip for this reason. It's pointless to just extend it back out with the mag extender sleeve.
      Lenny is a great guy and all, but I just don't understand this logic.

    My new EDC is very similar to what Lenny has here. Gen 2.5 (very similar to Gen 3, but with Parkerized finish on slide, and finger grooves on grip without texture)
    Mine has the pyramid ultimate trigger kit (also included was the factory trigger if I want to go back) Lasermax laser sight guide rod, TruGlo tritium fiber optic sights (tritium is too dim now, need to upgrade) 2 G23 13 round mags w/ xgrip sleeves (love them),
    2 9 round mags with Pearce pinky grip (great for super concealment) custom mag release, Talon grip rubber grip, custom extended beaver tail, and a sticky holster.
    So far, I LOVE ❤️ 🔫😍🥰 this gun! Will decide if I will carry in this configuration after testing with a few hundred rounds.

    I don't customize my Glocks. I have 8 of them, and leave them all with the stock configuration from Glock. During years of tactical training, I've seen so many people with Glocks customized with 3rd party parts that jam and malfunction on them. Every one of my Glocks have always performed flawlessly with their stock configurations through 1,000, 2,000, and up to 5,000 rounds of reloads with no jams or malfunctions. Just a little weekly TLC with a cotton cloth and about 6 drops of standard oil.

    I've been watching Glockstore videos for a few years now. Lenny shares valuable info. As I was already a 40 cal/357 Sig guy, I decided to buy a Gen 3 Glock 27, knowing that at time, it was Lenny's personal choice for EDC. I'm so disappointed to say, I ordered the grip sleeves Lenny is showing us in this video, and am not even close to being satisfied. There's so much play and wiggle room. It's the Glockstore item # T0364. In watching Lenny describe it, I was thinking it might be an OEM Glock part I didn't know about, because Lenny never mentioned the brand name. Turns out, it's a Pachmayr product. Easy to install, it comes with a hex wrench to tighten the sleeve against the magazine. It turned out to be too noticeably loose - way too much play. I had already ordered an Xgrip sleeve for the other magazine. The Xgrip is practically a seamless perfect fit, with NO play or wiggling in it. My only complaint about the Xgrip, is the exact reason I wanted to try Lenny's grip. The bottom finger groove is comfortable, but I wanted to have it flat where my pinky finger goes, if possible. I hope the Glockstore will accept a return and refund my money, on the premise that I"m unhappy with the product's performance. We will find out this weekend.

    Great video. The barrel length within reason isn't really much of a factor in concealed carry. If gonna use an extension why not go Glock 23? The 27 in some hands is perfect because your little finger fits so perfectly underneath the grip. They make a near perfect holster the BORAII for many compact and subcompact pistols. BORAII stands for Bill Of Rights Amendment 2. Safe front pocket or back pocket of Levi's jeans carry is possible with their holster.

    Lenny is a helluva salesman. He slips up once in awhile though. Here, when he was describing the grip/mag setup, he said he's using the "13 round Glock 23 setup..." That's a 10 round mag, not 13. If he was using the G22 Mag, (which is also doable) it would be 13. The G22 setup on a G27 is a little too long for most ppl's hands, , but Xgrip does make the grip for that. G23 to G27 Xgrip is a good setup. LOVE the internals on Lenny's EDC G27 though. And the chrome package.

    I have been told by a legal defense lawyer that if I ever have to use my carry gun against someone that it would be totally stripped apart by the police to inspect it and that the defense council would say that I modified the weapon with the intent to kill , of course this is all just advice being given to me , I have NEVER hurt anyone and have NO plans on hurting anyone .
    What are your thoughts on this theory ??

    • @elekt
      @elekt 10 років тому +1

      Who is your "legal defense lawyer", this is folk lore. Please cite a case where an otherwise legal modification has caused someone to be charged in an otherwise justified shooting.

    • @francotemplet7313
      @francotemplet7313 10 років тому +7

      Massad Ayoob is one of the best authorities on this planet about all things firearm. He has written several articles on this subject in particular. He advises not to make certain modifications on whatever firearm we carry for defence and lightening the trigger pull is close to the top of the list. Not because our wonder criminal justice system will file ''extra'' charges on you but because it will make your legal defence more difficult than if you had not made the mod. At the distances applicable for a defensive shot, will the mod make a ''life or death'' difference? For me, no. For you? Only you can answer that question.
      But let's just deal with reality for a moment. Once you've survived the most important decision you'll ever make in your life, to take the life of, or critically injure, another person by employing your personal firearm or other weapon in self defence, this ordeal may only be beginning for you. Northern/North Eastern states tend to have a much different attitude towards these issues & situations than do Southern/South Western states.(EX-cluding Californiflake) Depending on where you live, or where the incident happens, it may be an ''open & shut'' case. Then again,it may not. Here lately we've clearly seen that, depending on what color skin those involved are packaged in, it may quickly turn into an endless nightmare. A white shooter, whether justified or not, could wake the next morning to find himself convicted in the ''court of Public Opinion'', complete with death threats to the point of having to go into hiding with his family because the kids are even being threatened at school. Right or wrong, we've all seen it happen, pretending it hasn't doesn't change the truth, the reality of these ass-backwards times we're livin' in. True it is changing, slowly.
      But the time to ''make a social statement'', or to,''take a stand against the media's bias towards lawful self defence with a firearm'' is sure as hell NOT at a trial that will decide your fate, and that of your family. Why complicate issues that so many uninformed people have a hard time comprehending on their best day, the same people who may just end up on ''Jury Duty''. Personally, I have enough faith in my skill with any firearm, that such simple mod's are not necessary for me to successfully make the short range shot that saved my life. After surviving that, I'll NOT sit in a courtroom and risk my life on some lawyer's ability to counter the propaganda/misinformation or the political spin of some gun-hating DA convincing a jury that I'm the ''Racist Redneck,out lookin' to murder anyone with different color skin than me'' with my Super-Duper Modified Zombie-Killin' pistol, with a trigger-pull so light that it ''goes off'' all by itself, even if/when I don't want it to, or my Special Warp-Speed, Hand Loaded Holler' Points that makes 'em holler' be-fore it even hits 'em.
      What I WILL do, is what I've already done several years ago, my own homework on this most critical subject. I'd advise you to do the same, starting with Massad Ayoob. I know, his name is kinda funny. But once you read his credentials and accomplishments in this field, he will have from you what he deserves. Your undivided attention. And you from he, a great deal more knowledge simply from reading his work.
      Safe Shooting.

    • @topherd1011
      @topherd1011 9 років тому +1

      You either had to kill the guy or you didn't. There's no grey area on this subject. We don't kill over property. We only kill when our life is in jeopardy of being ended by a suspect. This is also the case when defending others. If the man needed killin it doesn't really matter what you used unless the weapon used is specifically banned and even then if the guy needed killin they're not really going to look into that. I wouldn't go shooting someone over a fist fight or road incident either. Only when your life is in direct danger with a suspect that has the MEANS and opportunity.

    I love my Glock 27. I will post a video for everyone soon. I couldn't help but modify my Glock 27 with all the awesome accessories out there. I have a TruGlo TFX sight, Talon rubberized grip, and Pearce magazine extension for both of my stock mags. It's hard to beat a Glock 27 for a CCW... why? because you can change out the barrel and have a 357 sig or a 9mm in less than 30 seconds. Also .40 has proven ballistic performance over the 9mm. We can argue all day about follow up shots.. but when you are only carrying 10 rounds in a communist state like California.. I will take 10 rounds of .40 JHP over 10 rounds of 9mm JHP. The proof is in the pudding.. .40 has ballistic properties that could be perceived as better than a .45 ACP especially with hollow points.

    I keep loaded magazines on my work-bench when I disassemble, clean, and lubricate my Glocks. When I’m done, I perform the basic function tests; trigger, reset and safety check. Then I rack 4 to 5 rounds through the slide to make sure the cartridges feed and eject properly. You might think, “Well that’s just not safe having life ammunition on your bench.” Well … one day I repeatedly racked live cartridges after cleaning, and the slide wouldn’t release and jammed rounds over and over. After a quick disassembly and re-inspection, I discovered the slide release spring had lost tension after repeated cleanings. I bent the spring back up for proper tension, and my Glock worked perfectly during function testing and on the range. Imagine what would have happened had I assumed my Glock was working properly without having live ammunition on my bench, and encountered a self-defense situation. I would have gotten one shot off, the slide would have locked back … and I’d be dead. Summin to think about. It happened on my bench, and I never anticipated the technical problem until I encountered it.

    • @SiegeX1
      @SiegeX1 10 років тому +5

      This is a valid point but there is still no reason the rounds have to be live in order to diagnose this type of failure. A few snap caps would give you the same info without the possibility of an accidental discharge.

      I diagnose and function test my Glocks, assault rifles, pump shotguns, semi-automatic shotguns, and revolvers with the live ammunition I carry on my work bench. Snap-caps are junk and are for amateurs. Throw em in the trash. I'm not going to walk out on the street confident that Snap-caps fed properly through my weapons. I walk out knowing my live ammunition works.

      You're definitely entitled to use whatever system works for you, but there is no reason for any ad-hominem attacks for those that don't follow your system to the 'T'. For all intents and purposes to diagnose a FTF, there should be no difference in live ammo vs quality snap caps made to SAAMI specs. To say they are 'junk and for amateurs' is short sighted to say the least

      dhl671 No I don't customize my Glocks. They work fine out of the box from solid engineering by Glock. I've seen people at the range, time and time again, who put 3rd party products into their Glocks, only to watch them jam and malfunction on them.

    I own several glocks. In my Glock 23 I can only load 12 rounds. Magazine is advertised to hold 13. Tried several mags and all will only hold 12. Thought about get the Glock 27 but worried I might have same problem of only being able to load 8 instead of the 9 rounds it says it will hold. A buddy of mine has the Glock 22 and he also has to load one less than advertised. My other caliber glocks hold what they are supposed to hold. Thoughts?

    A 3 to 3.5 pound trigger pull is perfect for concealed carry? I'd like to see how many professional trainers--people whose day job is to teach weapons handling--agree with that statement.

    I was always taught you should practice with the ammo you carry. Different bullets act different! I don't see a problem running 100-200 ball ammo but you should run a box or two at least of your carry ammo.

    • @Darkhalfcustoms
      @Darkhalfcustoms 8 років тому

      Andy Stewart in 7 to 12 yards there is no difference. Maybe in 100 yards you will see a difference. But, for self defense it won't matter. If you are shooting people at a range that the trajectory would be that different, the court will ask why you thought that person was a threat.

    • @Darkhalfcustoms
      @Darkhalfcustoms 8 років тому

      Andy Stewart also ball ammo will pass threw a person and keep going accidentally injuring others. hollow points hit expand and stop.

    • @thereptiledude7247
      @thereptiledude7247 8 років тому

      darkhalfcustoms that makes sense. I suppose shooting the hollow points you carry is more for making sure your gun eats that ammo well.

    Do you have any concerns with holstering the loaded and chambered 27 into the concealment shorts without possibly brushing the trigger?

    • @leaddispenser9
      @leaddispenser9 8 років тому +2

      I've practiced many of times of drawing and reholstering with an unloaded pistol. I've never pulled the trigger. The key is to get a good quality holster. me personally I'd never carry a weapon just inside my pants/shorts without a holster. it can throw the weapon placement off, slide up/down. And then you have to reposition the sidearm.. and that will draw attention. I hoped that helped ya. and another thing. always draw the weapon repeatedly in the same exact place you plan to carry to develop muscle memory. that's very important as well.

You are the moron that doesn't consider a gun hating lawyer sitting in court that wants to call your improved trigger a "hair trigger" and put you in jail. You have bored me with your stupidity have a good life sir. Enjoy your mother's basement. I will be sticking to the factory trigger on my carry firearm and altered triggers on my fun guns.
