It seems like the GTS being a highly optioned tuned up S isn't really as true anymore. They actually seem more like detuned Turbos in this year's models.
Which I think is a really good differentiator you can get a much more special engine. And any time nowadays you can get another way to get a V8 is a good thing
Hardware-wise, it's much closer to the S engine, but because the Turbo uses the same basic configuration, with the sport exhaust, the lines get blurred if you're anywhere under like 3/4 throttle.

I wish Americans would buy more wagons most of the time you don't need an SUV and in most cases wagons have more space and handle much better. Wagons are pretty popular in Canada but we usually just get what the US gets.

My favorite is the tiny woman and the Navigator/Escalade battles. My Granddaughter gets PT at a joint next to a massive "yoga" studio-gym. The struggle, sometimes getting themselves and their "luggage" in and out, is Homeric. Then they get in the driver seat and just disappear. Makes me giggle every time. I hate, Hate, HATE SUVs. Big and comfy, for me, is a nice sedan or wagon. My Beloved likes the height. She had, for 12 years, a Pacifica she would not let go of. Admittedly, when it was in good kit, it was a nice car to drive on long journeys. But we spent enough keeping that thing alive over the years to buy any SUV on the market, just about. It took copious rust and an odd smell, we couldn't abate, to get her out of it.
Matt in europe there are luxury and emission taxes and stuff related to the displacement of the engines, thats why you see the majority of manufacturers stick to some displacement across their car models

Drove two different Turbo SportTurismos in Amelia Island in the past 2 years. Incredible cars. If I was forced to own only 1 car, it would be that hands down.
There's a setting to indicate what kind of tires are on the car. You can say Comfort, in which case, it expects the tires to be at a lower PSI (like 33-36) and will warn when you're going too fast. You can change the setting, which will stop the speed chime. (You'll also need to increase the PSI, of course.)
Was going to call this out, all V8 Turbo Engines have been 4.4 liters from BMW. Have had this discussion with car friends as to why BMW isn’t on the 4.0 band wagon.
KaLak Google search agrees but does really fit with how it was discussed in the video. Still curious as to why the 4.4 by BMW. Would love for someone to ask them the question.

I always like your video's. I can't find my source but I've heard most fast cars don't go above 4 liter capacity because of Chinees tax regulations, which has become a huge market. Not because it's the best option.
My local dealership had a Mamba green one and it's a flattering color for the SP. They are discounting them too as they aren't selling here on the east coast. The SP will make a very compelling used car in a few years.
I don't know what other people think but I would put the gt3 rs motor in every Porsche, that sound is so addictive. Like at a rally when a gt3 rs is going to pass you hear it from so far and you see the people getting excited just to hear and see it pass.

Just had one of these in sedan form roll in lowly-optioned. Much better engine than the 4S engine for the price. IMO, the 2.9 and 3.0 just do not feel enough for the weight. The hybrid makes up the difference, but that weight you can feel with the air suspension. Rear steer feels insane when your making low speed but quick turns. Makes racking them easy!
The GTS is a Turbo with HP lowered. Also, the GTS sounds more aggressive than the Turbo even at the same drive modes. Since the GTS line is newer than the Turbo line for the 981, you can easily get a Turbo for the same price as a GTS if you want the extra HP.
I'm going to have to wait 'til these hit the used market. E63's continue to be unicorns and this being a lower horsepower alternative, it may go overlooked.
After you said the RS6 and GTS Panamera were roughly the same price I went and checked out the prices in our market, weirdly there’s a massive difference between those two here to the tune of a $100k or more roughly. I think a bone stock base Panamera 3.0 V6 comes in just under a no optioned RS6
I love the way it looks. It’s a shame they don’t sell more of them here. I’d be tempted buy a gts and tune it over getting a turbo due to the difference in price. You could potentially get more of the options you wanted on a gts, add the tune to increase power and be around or slightly under a turbo or turbo s with lighter options.

I feel like the detuned twin turbo v8s sound a lot better. (Perhaps less reliance on the turbos). I have a 2014 550i and at least from the inside I feel like the engine sounds a lot more organic than the M5.
