razor sharp handling of the Dogma - advantage IGD & Pidcock - the handling of the dogma is like that - it corners & does whatever you want and need, no problem......
@@SuperYobo No I am not selling DOGMA but have the same F10 that Froome used in 2018 GIRO - the footage of Pidcock descending is typical of the exceptional handling of this bike; it is incredibly sharp compared to other bikes, Pidcock might be world champion on a mountain bike but this is Froome - definitely the greatest cyclist of this century !! By the way being excellent on a mountain bike has no bearing whatsoever to road racing, road racing is about taking smooth lines, power weight ratios and tactics.
Really nice to see Roglic riding for Vingegaard. Strong how he made that mental switch. Jumbo Visma had full control in this Queen's stage and Kuss was flying in my opinion, what a performance!

Possibly the best descending I’ve ever seen from Tom Pidcock, the lines he took and his ability to carry so much speed through the corners was mind blowing. A great win on Alpe d’Huez too - chapeau! 🇬🇧
Froome is back! Third up the Alpe D'Huez, even if the big boys, some 10 years his junior, didn't bother to fight because he is NOT a threat. But coming back from THOSE injuries? Richie Porte recovered from basically the same injuries..broken pelvis ribs etc and 2 yrs later came 3rd. Now that's a real come back...not coming 3rd in a stage 4 years after the fact

Wonderful to see, that descent by Pidcock was really something especially the cornering. A truly magnificent bike handler, as for Froome, third on a stage like this means he is far from finished.
I agree with your assessment of Pidcock. His descending was truly awesome to watch. A master class! The only other riders that have shown us this level of class in recent times I can think of include Fabian Cancellara, Vincenzo Nibali and of course Peter Sagan.
A great day for the Brits on Bastille day. Tom got the stage, Chris looked better than any time since his accident and Geraint moved on to the GC podium.

WOW Froome - what an inspiring effort and result! I think it’s a shame more is not being said about him in the race coverage. I know he’s no threat to win and no longer the machine he once was, but he’s a 4 time TDF winner who was always a class champion AND clean racer following the disgraceful doping era. He still has enough in his legs to ride a stage like that - beating many of the current “world’s best” (including former teammate G Thomas)? Total legend!

I'm really hoping Pidcock still manages to get top 5 in GC somehow. There's a long descent on stage 16 where I could see him take some time if he even wants to. The rest of the time would have to be made up in the time trial or with some of the guys ahead of him having a bad day. But top 10 is already amazing.

Chapeau to Pidcock for winning on the iconic Alpe d'Huez in his first TdF, though to be fair the breakaway was given a pretty long rope by the JV-led peloton. Tremendous respect for Chris Froome too, not just for finishing third, but also for being able to keep up in the downhill drag race with Pidcock, after overcoming all the physical and mental barriers that he must have faced in the years following his horrific crash. I am sure that he is realistic enough to realise that he is not the CF of old in terms of GC contention but still has the courage, fighting spirit and tenacity of that great champion. It was also good to see Pogacar back to his old self, though as he himself admitted today was more a day to reassess himself after his implosion on Stage 11 than try and get back all the time he had lost. Look forward to the battles in the days to come. I was surprised to see Roglic falling away so quickly on the last two days, though. I would have expected him to be with the leaders till at least a couple of km from the finish. Is it because of the same injury that he is carrying or do JV want him fresh for the Pyrenean stages?
I’ve never been a big fan, but it’s great to finally see Froomey put in a competitive ride 3 years after what looked like a career ending crash. For the Brits, this was the best uphill day at Le Tour since 2018 (but still doesn’t compare to Cav’s resurrection last year)

Glad so see roglic riding superbly for jonas! I highly guess that next year's tour, Jonas and Roglic would still be co-leaders. Its the best strategy given their strengths. They would let LUCK play on the sides, whether good or bad for either jonas or roglic, hence keeping the 1-2 punch of attacks on gc contenders we will see in the coming years. Just brilliant tactics. Roglic will have his good luck time.

In the US, NBC was showing golf on TV, so if you don't want to pay for their streaming, you had to wait till afternoon and their 2-hour condensed rebroadcast - in which they skipped the whole first half of the race, and showed, and I'm not kidding, NOT ONE SECOND of Pidcock's stage winning descent. Thank god for LR.
Wow, Pidcock deserves every bit of that victory! Huge balls on the decent. And finished it off beautyfully on the Alpe! I think we're in for a treat in the Pyrenees, boys! Pogacar clearly had an off day the other day, so the fight is still on! I just hope they give us some great racing and don't put everything on the time trial...
That Pidcock descent was insane. He just banks it into corners like he's done each of them hundreds of times before and knows exactly what line to take. The GC sprint at the end was interesting - G definitely had the door shut in his face. Don't they have to sprint in a straight line or something? :P
How refreshing to have a stage where a legend and a legend in waiting got recognition above the pogacer versus TJV farce that this tour is becoming. Well done, again, LR, for promoting brilliance
For me Pidcock was fav once he got over becuase Ciccone and Meitjes did far more work to get across. Sursprise for me is Froome who also did lot of work to get over and looked to struggle on decent and small climbs , chapeau to him.
It would be foolish to claim the tour is over now just as it was foolish to claim it was over a couple days ago. But, if Jonas can avoid having a bad day in the mountains where he might lose a couple minutes to Pog then he has to be the favorite at this point. Of course, the final TT on the last Saturday could then be the difference maker and if Tadej is within a minute before the TT then the tour could be back to Pog. This is turning out to be one of the best tours in recent memory.

That Pidcock descent was insane. He just banks it into corners like he's done each of them hundreds of times before and knows exactly what line to take.
The GC sprint at the end was interesting - G definitely had the door shut in his face. Don't they have to sprint in a straight line or something? :P

How refreshing to have a stage where a legend and a legend in waiting got recognition above the pogacer versus TJV farce that this tour is becoming. Well done, again, LR, for promoting brilliance
For me Pidcock was fav once he got over becuase Ciccone and Meitjes did far more work to get across. Sursprise for me is Froome who also did lot of work to get over and looked to struggle on decent and small climbs , chapeau to him.
It would be foolish to claim the tour is over now just as it was foolish to claim it was over a couple days ago. But, if Jonas can avoid having a bad day in the mountains where he might lose a couple minutes to Pog then he has to be the favorite at this point. Of course, the final TT on the last Saturday could then be the difference maker and if Tadej is within a minute before the TT then the tour could be back to Pog. This is turning out to be one of the best tours in recent memory.
