yup
This and the mitosis video have become an all-time classic among students. I remember first watching this video and discovering this channel in 10th grade, I watched it again in 11th grade before my exit exams and watched it again in 12th and 13th grade as a recap. Now I'm in med school, I'm here again for a quick refresher once again.
I love how supportive this community is and how everyone is close to a bio exam now included me 😂
Same here, good luck!
whole textbook worth of information in less than 10 mins
nice
This is our updated meiosis video from early 2014! You will notice that much of what is said, especially in starting out, is identical. So what's different? This one explains more about chromosome numbers which was hard for us in school, and it has a little more detail with improved drawings as we've learned so much! We're going to keep our original meiosis video though from 2014 so you can see how we've grown over the past 3 years. We're lifelong learning amoebas. XD Old Meiosis Video: ua-cam.com/video/toWK0fIyFlY/v-deo.html
Amoeba Sisters Love ur channel 💙💙
Amoeba Sisters honestly, we finished this lesson but im watching it again because your vids are amazing
You do such a fantastic job. Very nice addition to the collection!!
Yay u gus help me a lot🔍🔎🔬🔭
Can you explain how twins are born? Like why does the fertilized egg splits into two embryos? We don't have this in our 8th grade science book ._.
I am a med student .....still using this video ....it sometimes helps you go back to the basics when you get stuck somewhere and sometimes it's fun.... really a very well made video ...wish I had this video when I was preparing for my entrance exams....it's very simplified
Is it wrong to learn more from this video than a 2 hour video form a college professor? I need to learn at a 4th grade level. Amazing easy to follow video!
As a future biology teacher trying to figure out the best way to explain meiosis to my students, this video has been immensely helpful! This is by far the best explanation of meiosis I have seen and I hope I will be able to explain it this clearly. Thank you!

I am from Syria and I watch the videos of this channel, it helps me very much in passing high school sciences💜💜
The way you talk makes me feel excited and really interested about biology
I've been through biology GCSE, A level and a degree with a significant biology component and it is only now, through watching your video, that I understand why chromosomes and chromatids are counted equally (based on no. of centromeres)! Thank you so much for making it all click into place! Absolute life saver
We watched this in science class, but the audio was having issues, so now I return to a great video.
Currently studying for an EOC! This is very helpful, and I would not be prepared without their easy to understand videos

These videos are the best! Taking college Algebra now (I’m 44) and the textbook; I am just so lost. These videos help so much make so much sense. I appreciate these so much Thank You!
Thank you so much for all your videos! I am a returning college student who previously dropped out, and I've had a hard time catching up with all the teens who just learned all of this in high school. Professors aren't trained to be teachers, so sometimes their explanations leave much to be desired. Your videos really make these concepts easier to understand!
you're literally helping me fall back in love with biology, thank youuuu!
Rewatching this cause I was a little confused in Biology class!
I watched this in undergrad for physiology and here I am again during my masters because it's truly the best meiosis vid out there.

Just gotta say a huge THANK YOU to this channel. I am taking grade 11 bio online because I am going back to college in sept. and I am in my 30s (its been a while since high school science classes lol) and do not learn well from reading, I learn a lot better through hearing and conversing about a topic so these videos help me understand all this so much better then reading from a website.

Oh! I was so confused about the counting of chromosomes and chromatids but if they're counted by centrometers then it makes sense. Thank you!

You guys do an amazing job at explaining everything, unlike my actual teacher that just reads from a slideshow.
I was so confused about the number of chromatids during the division and this helped me clear my doubts. I am so thankful for this video.
I LOVE ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS, since discovering you guys I have been able to achieve higher grades on my last few tests in college. Thank you so much! Please never stop making videos.
Thank you so much !!! I’ll humble myself and admit I’m in medical school and this concept still alluded me somewhat because I never knew we counted chromosomes by their centromeres. 🤯🤯🤯 So I didn’t get how we had 23 chromosomes and then split again and still had 23 chromosomes. One small little bit of information just helped tie it all together. Thanks again.
This fills in a lot of gaps that my textbook and the internet in general haven't been able to fill. Thank you!
Thank you for this video!! Learned SO much more in this short video than in an 1hr long lecture
