It's funny, but I was working on my treadmill's belt because I noticed it was sliding to one side, and I basically figured out what he talks about in this video by trial and error. I just wished I had watched it before spending the time, but I guess I learned something along the way!
This was great! I thank you for such clear explanations. We just bought a used unit and the seller said he'd never oiled it. NOW I know how to check everything.
Watched the vid... Good job! Read the comments... Lots of compliments on attention to detail, I agree. I'll check out your channel later, see what else you're good at...
Matthew Pascarella -- Look at how the belt is " tracking " , after you turn it on at low speed . You may have got lucky and done no harm . If it tracks towards the left , then tighten the left side by a quarter turn , and by more quarter turns , if necessary . If it tracks towards the right , then tighten that right side by a quarter turn , and additional quarter turns if necessary .
I’ve just bought Horizon 7.0AT and had it installed 2 days ago. The installer lubricated under the running belt on each side of it without loosening it. I went into the shop to check on belt tension that my treadmill has and it’s about right. The problem is I momentarily get a squeaking noise on some steps while walking. It doesn’t sound like it’s coming from the motor as it runs smooth and quiet when not walking on it. The floor is flat and I used the level to measure it and nil issues there. I was wondering if if it’d be possible that silicone lubricant wasn’t applied or spread enough under the running belt that makes the noise as if you try to stop it intentionally generating that sort of noise.
I have a 2013 Horizon Treadmill CT 9.3. It has been used for walking only and that too very rarely, but I have been servicing it regularly. Since a weak from today it suddenly stops and there comes clicking sound from the control board. After a few minutes, the machine resets itself, starts normally but again after a few minutes stops suddenly and the same clicking sounds starts coming from the control board. Can you please advise as how can I overcome this trouble ? Thanks.
1x question. yesterday my treadmill started smoking. now I lubricated it under the tread, reset the screen - oil - and cleaned the engine if there was dust in the front. do I need to do something extra? is it safe will it no longer smoke? thank you
this is a great video! but i am struggling with keeping the band centered, as soon as it is, and go on it to test it, it moves again, but it's definitely not skipping either, not sure if it's too loose, or what
My treadmill all of a sudden when you push START, the tread moves quicker but shuts off immediately. The tread rotates about half way around. It's dead. I have to push STOP to get it to do anything at that point. The whole unit is clean and gap between Reed switch and magnet is approximately 1/8". I could lift tread up about 2-2.5 inches off the pad. I rotated the drive belt with my fingers around 60 degrees. Do I need to lubricate under the belt? Why does it stop as fast as it starts?
can you adjust the motor drive belt on the Horizon treadmills? Ive centered, tightened, etc. the walking belt, but it still slips. When I step forcefully on the walking belt, I can see the drive belt slow down.
I have a Horizon 7.0 from Dicks. The back looks like it’s centered but the front looks like it’s to one side. I’ve been trying to center the belt. I just can’t get it perfect. It looks like the edges of the belt aren’t perfectly straight either. It’s just hard to center. I’ve only walked a few miles so far.
Thank you. Just set up my Horizon t101. The treadmill running pad will not budge. I thought it was become it was too tight. Or misaligned. After a few cranks on each side counter clockwise still no movement. I can’t even manually make it move. But I can make the treadmill move manually in reverse. Thoughts?
@@ecologicaltime and also look in between belt to look for small piece of packaging lodged in the belt. Doh! Thank you for your reply. But good tip for everyone to really scan all packaging materials aren’t in those small areas. Thank you for the reply!
Thanks for this tutorial, very helpful indeed. I have a small question, if possible : on my treadmill after I hold the program button 3-5 seconds I get a menu with 3 different values, without any explanation (not in the manual either). The values are between 5-250 (2 values) and 5-60 (3rd value). Do you know by any chance what these values refers to? Thanks.
This process is so frustrating to do. I've been working on aligning my new under desk treadmill for a month and a week. Since I have no clue how many turns either side of the machine has been made in my adjustments, how do I "start over" so I can make equal turns? Should I adjust until it's fully loose and neither side can be moved more before retightening? Right now I can kind of get the belt to ride centered when off the machine, but if I get on it it quickly moves to the left. This is normally the kind of thing I pay someone else to do but I'm disabled and broke so I'm out of luck now. Sigh.
Hey I have a treadmill that I bought used. The belt started slipping so we tightened with the bolts at the end now it is squealing and moving slow... any ideas?
You left out a very important step. Once you loosen the belt so you have access to the deck you need to inspect it. You want to check to make sure it is smooth like glass. If you have scratches on the deck it is going to cause fiction no matter how much lube you put on. The deck should be replaced if it has very many scratches on it and that almost always means the belt needs replaced as well. Also if you run the speed up around 9 MPH while adjusting it side to side the belt will shift much fast. I neat little thing to do once you think it is done is run the speed back down to .5 MPH and push the belt to one side or the other. Keep doing that until the belt is shifted a fair amount. Now without standing on the belt, run the speed back up to around 9 MPH. If you have the belt adjusted properly it will come back to center after about 15 or 20 seconds. If it doesn't come back to center you will need to adjust the rear roller a very little bit and redo the shifting of the belt to test it again. BTW, before you replace a deck and belt check to make sure other key components are still available for your treadmill. Things like the front and rear roller, drive motor, motor controller, and console. If any of these parts are not available it wouldn't be wise to replace the deck and belt. If one of those other key parts goes out right after you replace the deck and belt you have just wasted money. Any residential unit around 10 years old or older, it is wise to not put much money in to repairs. Quite often you will spend about half the cost of a new unit to repair an out dated treadmill.
Great video. Not just 'how', but 'why' is explained. Thank you so much. Finally someone who knows how to make a perfect instructional video.
Just assembled this treadmill and wanted to straighten the belt. This is a brilliant video, no BS and great description of everything. Thanks mate
Finally. A guide that piece by piece goes through problems encountered.
Thanks. I think I've over tensioned my new belt. I'll get right on it.

So much better then the directions Horizon gives!!
This was a very useful guide. I sincerely appreciated the detail. After following your instructions, my treadmill is functional once again.
Bought a used machine and this helped me a LOT. Thank you.

My track gets hot, just lubed the track, it’s still getting hot. Why?
Great video with specific details on how to properly maintain the belt. Thanks for posting.
Your Guidance Very helpful and detailed, I did Followed everything you said and my treadmill running again! Thank you!

This solved it for me I thought it was an electrical problem but no a simple fix thanks for the help.
Very nice guide. Very helpful and detailed, thanks for clarifying everything in such detail.
Perfect instructions. Much appreciated. Thank you!
Great and immensely helpful video. Thanks.
Excellent informative video 10/10
Awesome guide brother! Thank you 🙏
Do you have a video pertaining to the one screw adjustment on the front roller?
Great video, very well explained, congratulations and thanks for sharing.
best guide so far!
Thank you for sharing.
How do you tell if it is too tight?
Thank you - wonderful job!
Great guide. Brilliant accent.
Thank you for the video , it was very helpful.
So what do I do if I turned the tension bolts and didn't keep track of how many turns I did? Is there a fix for that?

thank you. One side is tighter than the other side, or your belt is warped.
Awesome and best video
Thanks
Super helpful video!!! Thank you so much!
thank you
Great explanation! How do you know that is too tight?
How about adjusting the front roller ?

Good ideas Best
My durafit guide for belt alignment says along with every left turn you need to do a right turn on the other side and vice versa.

Any help for a knocking noise when running on the treadmill?

you would need to open it and inspect the motor driver

Hi, my horizons adventure turns off suddenly? Any idea why? Loose belt or unaligned?
Can we use WD 40 Lubricant?
I have seen vids saying NO to regular WD40....I believe WD40 "silicone" lubricant is what you want.
Thank you

What is that belts width?
Is 440 mm too small?
I wouldn't go under 50 cm. Mine is 53 and it's ok.
That belt looks knackered. I’d be replacing it.
South African accent?
Arnold...?
Did u notice the belt walked to the right again
Hey I have a treadmill that I bought used. The belt started slipping so we tightened with the bolts at the end now it is squealing and moving slow... any ideas?
Too tight?
also check that its not catching on one side, maybe unbalanced.
Thanks
helpful
Thank u 🙏🏻
That is why people have gym memberships. Pay and go.
Sounds like Schwarzenegger
Maybe the South African voice over of Terminator but definitely not Arnold...🤣
