    It makes me happy to see someone saving and restoring one of these trucks. I love the 88 to 94 interiors and I had a 92 Cheyenne. It had the grey interior, but I didn't care for it. So I swapped out all the grey parts and replaced them with blue ones from another Cheyenne I had before. The only thing I couldn't swap was the main dash piece. Too many wires. Unfortunately the frame ended up rotting out on the truck and I could no longer drive it. I did however keep all the blue pieces I put in it because like you said...they are very hard to find. Especially the bench seat I have. It's Different from that one you got. It's the blue tweed style (the one that always has a tear on the drivers side) But that bench Is now a ''couch'' in my room haha...Sorry for the long comment. Had to tell my story.

      Using a bench seat as a couch is the coolest thing I’ve ever heard. That’s awesome!

    Thank you for all the detail and for not skipping anything! Even showing the "boring" unscrewing of a bolt, it's so nice that you at least show it and speed up the video. Very helpful!

    About to tackle restoring my father in law’s 98 after he passed as a tribute. With some custom door sills I think. His truck was such an identifying part of who he was and I can’t wait to start. These videos will help a ton. Thank you 🙏

    You are absolutely right. Interior parts for these trucks are very scarce. I have a 1990 Chevy with the Scottsdale trim (mid level), and broke the rear cab trim piece that goes over the rear windshield, because I didn't remove it in the correct order. It took me many months of waiting and searching local salvage yards before I found an older GMT400 truck, that was a) single cab - extended cabs are more common; b) the right trim level (base-model trucks are more common, and don't have the plastic trim in the rear of the cab; and c) had the right pieces, that were not broken. They are a different color, but at least they are intact.

    Great video! I bought my son a 93 Chev S10 with an original 52,000 miles on it, and we just bought a 93 Chev Cheyenne k1500 manual. He was in an accident with the S10, so I ended up buying a 93 Chev S10 blazer for $500, for the fender and front bumper. I keep robbing it for parts for the two other trucks. Glad I have it. Just redid the headliner in the k1500. Glad his floor is rubber since in Montana we get a fair amount of snow. The wiper relay is acting up which is a problem with these models so now fixing it. These are great trucks and you are doing excellent videos! Good job!

  • @Grinchguy1
    @Grinchguy1 5 місяців тому

    The last of the well built Chevy trucks which went to 1994. This is not the interior of the c1500 from 95 on up. This is where Chevrolet started going the wrong direction. In 1995 they changed the interior which had problems with window mothers, AC controls and the Badly designed interior door handles that constantly break.

      I’m actually going to do this with my 1988 Silverado. I’m changing the door panels, carpet, molding, and some of the dash that has cracks in it. I’m doing the opposite with the seats though, I found bucket seats like you originally had and a reupholster place is doing them in leather for me. I also LS swapped and put in a 4L80e so that’s a big difference.
