They made the ambient mood track into a dramatic song...without changing any of the original melody. That's pretty great. And the song is cool as fuck.
Imagine a massively multiplayer online RTS where you control a district of your choosing selected from a satellite view (your home town for example) and investigate alien infiltration's and co-ordinate resources to intercept UFOs across continents with other players
Epic into the extreme! I love when good tracks get a thurough instrumental revamp to make them sound even better like this. There are other John Broomhall scores out there which I'd like to hear given the same treatment to bring them to this level of awesome.
God I love this game. Still one of the greatest if not the best. Still play it through every couple of years. The fan made patches make it very playable on modern computers.
By the end of June 2021 comes the UFO2Extraterrestrials. The game is supposed to draw attention of turn based gamers especially those indulging in hilarious UFO:Enemy Unknown.
Man, I'm counting the days for your game! But the release date is 15 June on Steam and not at the end of the month..Anyway congrats for the release, it's been a very long ride and a big surprise! (time to remove the vapourware status on the codex :P)
I never knew about the Fall of Cydonia until after the project was dead and gone. But I still feel kind've sad that it never got a chance to be released. New x-com is kind've homogeneous. It completely fails to capture the tone, dread and wonder of the original.
But what about the newer 2K DLC-riddled XCOMs with snake tits because tits sell video games? Joking of course. Would rather play the classic or Xenonauts more than anything $2K$ is affiliated with. I'm not rich enough to be able to afford those games.
+Andy Jr We know who's the original composer, and if we don't we can use google you know...And no its not a "medoicre" rearrangement , its a fine and respectful cover.
+Andy Jr It isn't perfect, but its far from mediocre in my opinion. It's very true to the original, adds beautiful orchestration, and I love the sci-fi synth for the bass.
It's a wonderful homage that updates the original with the better technology we have today, but with total reverence for the mood and tone of the original. This cover is a work of love of the original. I love it.
Great now my recommended videos are all Mars conspiracy theories
its xcom a game made in the 90s by a company called microprose not an alien conspiracy theory
Rascal arisato No shit.
hahahahaha I feel your pain. =)
+Rascal arisato
Yep. But try telling Utube's Artificial Ignorance bots about that. =)
But it was worth it.
This is hands down the best Geoscape remix I've ever heard.
Yeah this is pretty gangster.
@IBZ The timing is off. This one is much better
2:15 UNATCO theme vibes and I love it
Electronic old men!
You should get a job...

02:55 eargasm begins here. Insanely good bit.
This OST is amazing when playing Terra Invicta. Get them original UFO vibes going.
Show of hands. Who's all grown up and listening to this music when going on Google Maps satellite view?
I have not. But now I shall. Because it seems fitting.
An excellent idea!!
Why has this never occurred to me??
Gonna do it right now

remix is amazing, it captivates that same original feel
Как же офигенно. Это все еще тот самый саундтрек из прошлого, но звучащий лучше. Я не знаю как описать. Чище и глубже?
They are already here
John Broomhall is such a great composer! Love all the X-Com music!
God damn, this version is soo good
Especially at 6:45
I wish this game existed.
*****
This game does exist. It´s about 20 yrs old, but still good.
***** You can play this game with this OST as background, openxcom guys did a great job in general.
Kuisae No, Cydonia's Fall never got made.
+zombievideos247 yeah we never finished it. the music guy was admittedly awesome. the project leader is a games designer now.
Absolutely breathtaking.
Best game ever made
Incredible cover!!!
Really damn good. Cheers.
6:36 to 7:10 reminds me of Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds.
thanks! nice one
God I love this game. Still one of the greatest if not the best. Still play it through every couple of years. The fan made patches make it very playable on modern computers.
It is time... for Lewis and Ben to save the world*
*They will probably fail.
They did.
Awesome!
Mind that picture in the video is from Ufo Alien Invasion game. it is worthy legacy game too
Great ambient music for coding.
да! круто!! ))
interesting track
мощно б...ь Жаль в игре этого соундтрека нет .... Laurent молодец

Also you should consider communicating with GOG, it would be very nice if we could buy both games DRM-free.
@@darkozric79 fsck rasist GOG!
COOL
Now that u have this open, set it to loop and go to UFOpaedia site for some in-depth reading :)
Maybe it's just because of nostalgia but i liked the amiga version so much more to this pc version.
This reminds me of Phil Schneider.
where can i get this game??
на басовом треке эта расщеплённая атака с форшлагом как то неочень звучит. в остальном очень даже. distorition вообще прекрасный
GEOSCAPE !! Oder so ;)

yep , it so sucks that 3D , Xenonauts was sucess why they don't do xcom in 2D
@@WildBeret Xenonauts, unfortunately, feels like a bland copy.
i see an orc giving greenland one thumbs up
it really exist? O.O
+Akela You mean.. UFOs?
+Marcos Marin Of course, I play this game just do not know this version.
Akela
Oh.. I thought you meant actual UFO's.. :)
Anyways, from what I gathered from the comments here, this was a remake but was never finished..
+Marcos Marin What a loss it is to the players,And one of the best strategy games

Disappointing after 2:12. They didn't get all the instrument parties right.
Actually this music is composed by John Broomhall. What you hear in this video is nothing more than a medoicre rearrangment of original X-Com music.
+Andy Jr We know who's the original composer, and if we don't we can use google you know...And no its not a "medoicre" rearrangement , its a fine and respectful cover.

Andy confirmed for pedantic grognard.
