The Toyota Camry is refreshed with slight exterior changes, new dash layout, and upgraded safety features to name a few. Still, the Camry gives you a reliable engine, space, and practicality to go with this family sedan. This Camry LE is the base model and although it doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles, it gives you an easy car to live with and a good overall value base model.

How do you like this Camry base model? With less bells and whistles comes less things to worry about. Still, it’s efficient, spacious enough, and practical overall.

Regarding the 8 speed transmission at video 12:48 , the transmission learns how you accelerate, drive and tailors to the driver. So if you are a new owner to a pre owned Toyota and don’t like how it’s shifting based on previous owner, simply take it to dealer and ask them to reset memory on the transmission. As the new owner drives his vehicle , you will notice a considerably huge difference in shifting as the transmission is learning your driving habits.
I learned a lot from following the car care nut, a master technician Toyota if you are a Toyota owner.

I currently own a 2004 LE, with 56k miles, the same color, and was purchased new from Sport City in November 2003. A great car, still solid smooth ride, and no squeaks and rattles. No major repairs and the car lives in a garage. If and when I decide to buy another Camry, the Base LE trim would be my choice. Don't need all the bells and whistles the higher trims offer.

there are some cons: very light acceleration its notchy, no real good place for your phone, hard to see the ignition key hole, rear speakers are "fill music only!"( and if your older) kinda hard getting out of the car.

And that car was very nice however neither my wife or I liked the rough ride. On April 7th 2020 that car was totaled by a hail storm. We then purchased a '17 Camry LE...much smoother and comfortable ride. The fuel mileage on our Camry is outstanding. I just bought a ‘21 AWD Camry this week. I’m still getting used to it but I can say without hesitation I love it and will have it for a very long time. It’s loaded and with only 4,900 miles. I had a ‘15 Camry, which I also loved, but this one is light years ahead of the ‘15. I’m so happy to be back with Toyota. I spent the last 4 years in an Infiniti QX30, what a mistake that was. I’ll be paying for that decision for a while.

May not be the most exciting car, but you can not beat it for for what it is meant to do. Comfortable, reliable, safe. In my opinion, for the best mid-sized sedan, look no further then this or maybe the Legacy. I know people love the Accord, but for me it just doesn’t cut it due to its harsher and noisy ride and it’s lack for features that the Camry and Legacy give you for the same or less money.

I love this car I’ve had one since april sittin at 9500 miles.
It’s a fun car the 8 speed transmission takes some getting use to, like half throttle will put you in a different gear than 3/4 throttle will so you really have to know what you’re doing or it will feel “jumpy”
Also the vvt-i is basically like having 2 camshafts; one for efficiency, one for performance so you have to hit the throttle a certain way to tell the engine which one to choose
( you’ll know you activated vvt-i when your engine sounds different, you will feel more torque and your eco indicator turns off)

You are right you have to drive the car and get used to it.. The transmission also adjusts to your driving habits and it runs better after you drive it for a while.. I have a 2020 Camry XLE.. I love it as well. Also I had to learn to press the gas pedal from the top and not in the middle like I did on my previous cars.. That is the way a gas pedal is that is mounted on the floor.. They are all together different and are not responsive if you do not press them from the top of the peddle..

Lol I also have the SE and while the LE does ride a lot nicer, the LE’s front grill is ugly and the SE already rides a hell of a lot smoother than my 2013 Civic. As for people over 60 driving the LE, you’re on point with that one. The only people under 60 I see driving the LE’s are usually teenagers

Great review Nolan! I definitely prefer keyed ignition over push button start and I prefer the LE. I'm worried about the 8 speed transmission. Is it a deal breaker or is it something I can get used to with time?

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  3 роки тому +2

Thank you! Tha 8-speed would make me nervous too, but I'm not sure if reliability is in question or just the lack of smoothness. They are "learning" transmissions, so I would hope with time it would be better and smoother as it learns your driving habits. Hard to say though because I haven't been able to spend more than a week with one. The highlander was the longest I had with the 8-speed and there were times it made me cringe with it's jerkiness, but other times it was very smooth lol. If you're considering one, definitely try to get an extended or over night test drive

I am writing this in 2023 having been in an unfortunate accident on Christmas Eve of 2022 which served to completely total my 2006 Toyota Camry LE . After driving a rental car for about a month I visited numerous dealerships to find another Camry, which I did. I ended up with another black 2021 Camry LE with under 50,000 miles on it. I bought this 2021 Camry LE at a good price and on 2/01/2023. I have driven this car for about 10 months now and it drives well. I had it fully inspected by my local mechanic and he stated that I would need to replace the original tires within a short time. I decided to replace the tires with a set of Michelin Defenders , which is an 80K mile tire. This 2021 Camry has a dashboard notification when or if the tires are low on air . I returned to the tire dealer where I had bought the new tires and they fully checked each tire as to air pressure. As I drove away from the tire dealers lot I noticed that the notification light had gone out, which was to be expected. This is my third Camry and I can tell you that I am pleased with all aspects of this vehicle and it certainly has performed well.

I test drove this style camry back in 2017 and this new style was brand new. at 6’1” I felt so cramped in that driver seat. I weighed 200lbs. When I sat in the Impala right after the Camry all I could think was SPACE, QUIET, and refined. And the best part was almost $10K off sticker where Toyota was Zero off Sticker not even floormats. The camry I was testing was the XSE. I think he retailed for $34K.

Biggest complaint is the interior lighting, or more specifically, the utter LACK of interior lighting. A single dome light!!! You're kidding right, no footwell lights, no door lights after 2020, just a single dome light. It is a dark cave at night and REALLY noticeable. A single dome light is from the 60's not 2021. I could be spoiled from my Fords with the ambient lighting, SO NICE! Not a deal breaker for buying this car, but more lights are on the top of my mods list.

I love this car! I just picked up a 2021 Camry LE and it's just what I needed. In my opinion, the less bells and whistles, the better ( less that will go wrong). Simplicity is better sometimes. I like a simple key and not push start. I like mechanical door locks. Toyota is notorious for the power door locks failing so I love how the LE has the option of manually locking and unlocking the doors by hand. Wish they would have stayed away from the electric water pump and electric intake camshaft motor. But I guess it's 2021 and you have to have some modernization. Interested to see if these new Camry's will hold up like the older one's!

@@braetonwilson4296 it’s a little different but it’s really not that bad. But it’s all and all a great car. They look great and I’m glad Toyota stuck with a traditional transmission and didn’t throw that CVT garbage in it. I’d get one if I were you.
