“I’m hoping for something a little more faster.” Well you got it!
I feel like both tracks captured different elements of what makes SOAD unique. Protect the Land was more Hypnotize/later SOAD where the songs were slower but deeper and were trying to send a message through their lyricism. This song was very much an old school, early SOAD with fast, unpredictable beats and unique structuring while still having a message in between. They’re both good for different reasons, it’s just a shame that the war that caused them to come back together is happening in the first place.
My thoughts exactly. The two songs couldnt have been a more perfect balance ♡

I did enjoy both but I will definitely be playing this whilst I reminisce about old mosh pit days. Also hear some possible black metal influence at the 2:00 section which makes my heart very happy.

This is classic system of a down. From serjs fast rapping reggae and dramatic operatic eerie singing, to quick random sporadic thrashy riffs and head banging melodic tranquil distortion. Love that Darron is singing more in the songs. Hes an underrated singer. it shows how special some connections are and they never die. There was some brutal metal breakdowns in there too. Like they were evolving separately yet together the whole time. Proud of you metal falcon.

I feel like the reason they released these 2 together is definitely so they could aim 1 at the hardcore metalheads & old fans, and the other at a wider audience, thus getting the message out to as many people as possible. Love it and them ❤

I'm generally not a huge fan of SOAD, but I liked it because it was very reminiscent to the old SOAD

SOAD still doesn't change from their old days and suddenly we got a info about them releasing 2 new songs after 15 years, everyone's feeling were kinda all over the place. i'm also surprised that they make new music this year but yeah Serj vocals are so unique.
