you guys are a dynamic duo, i think we need Richard to react to some of Judsons favorite music, could be pretty entertaining!?
I’m waiting on Judson to find what he wants me to hear. It’s just a matter of time.
@@Greatmeasuresgotta try something off that Beck album!
These videos are truly a place for my soul to rest and just enjoy some good old music and entertaining commentary. A very relaxing fix.
Thank you!
Question! Has always been one of my favorites from SOAD. Such a unique and interesting song out of one of the more interesting and unique bands.
One of my favorito S.O.A.D songs, glad that someone did a reaction
My metal journey started with SOAD, their mix of so many genres like even black metal or prog rock is amazing. After 10 years listening to them I apprieciate Mezmerize more than anything else. Judson should definitely listen Lost in Hollywood or Radio/Video. I love also Daron and Serj harmonies on this album.
After listening to your Q&A and having been through a couple of tough years myself, I find your videos really encouraging. Also, SOAD is amazing!!!
One day at a time. It gets better.
@@Greatmeasuresit really does and it’s so worth it. One year already! ❤
@@Pedro-wj9pl congratulations!
7:15 that part is so hauntingly Elevating to me even after all these years..
and the little Snare fill at 7:24 is Life
drummer spotted ^^'
You guys are pushing out the content at a great pace.
Keep up the good work.
This is my first time watching you guys and I love your vibe. Such an easygoing, witty camaraderie on display here
Question, Richard
This song and deer dance, outside of their first album! My favorites from them!!! There are a few close seconds.... But those two!! Awesome!!
4:49 😆
Good to see Richard's visual input
Love this song!!!
there are a couple of songs by SOAD where you can ALWAYS tell when the musician is sitting there trying to figure out what the hell is going on with the time signature. this one is... chefs kiss perfect.
U both are great in different ways but in one way too - great personalities
Would love to see you guys listen to Spiders from their self titled album from 1998. If you want to stay with this Mezmerize/Hypnotize: Soldier Side needs to be adressed (both songs)
There is just too much that can be known and discussed about these cool, politically engaged Armenians
11:11 "They do their own thing". That's why I love SOAD, they don't sound like any other band, it's weird, they're weird, and I dig that.
Feels to me like it's about irrational 18th and 19th century fears about new technologies at the time. People worried that electricity would steal your soul or burn the atmosphere, or that flying in a plane would kill you etc.
Pushing the Like button even before watching this video :)
Même chose par ici, l'effet soad +questions dans le titre de réaction 😅
Hilarious reaction you two! Love the shirt Richard \m/...Jaguar God - Mastodon is a must listen!!!!!
Priceless ❤
What a intro! 👏🏻
Thanks fellas, great vid
Great choice!!! thanks to whoever suggested it
Love your reactions and the songs you choose!
I would be eternally grateful if you picked a song from Burst in the future. Their last album Lazarus Bird from 2008 is a true masterpiece - would recommend "I exterminate the I" or "(We watched) the silver rain". They were always criminally underrated and not well known, it's a true hidden gem for progressive metal enthusiasts.
love u guys
Serj Tankian, Elect the Dead Symphony would be awesome to react too
Great measures!
7:11 🙂
Easily my favorite song off this album. The lyrics and time signature changes are impeccable
describing it as swimming is so spot on damn
Another great video I love system of the down such a fun band to listen to you said you're only taking requests from patreon I'll throw some at you one more time on UA-cam I think you... might enjoy heaver Stuff that's why I suggested one of my top three bands Testament and one of my favorite bands not so heavy but incredibly musically talented guitar, piano, singing savatage think about it
I love 5he composition of this one!
can we get a reaction to "Bullet for my valentine - Tears don't fall" please:) acoustic version is dope af
nice basket case cover btw
Dude this shit is so good. I was so into the intro song, like meditating I forgot what I was doing and was like just thinking.... Lol. I am high right now. Judson is hilarious
Judson, your real personality is coming thru and it makes me more interested in your guys videos! I told many of my friends about this channel! Keep this up, love your perspective 😊
great song, I totally forgot about this one.
of course Richard wears his TBDM hoodie when he mentions the patreon requests 😩 now I'ma have to get on there to request songs like "I'm Charming" or "Everything Went Black"
🤠
I want to show him ALL of TBDM. 😂
@@Greatmeasures i'm here for it 😁
This is like my real friendship with a music kid at school and I’m the metal head
Super stoked to see this one! Thanks for taking my recommendation, y'all! 🤙
Thank YOU!
@@Greatmeasures I also didn't expect to hear my name so much at the end 😂 the ultimate fourth wall break for me
Not sure if either of you have heard of Dir en Grey but check them out! Venushka or Diablos! Two amazing epics!
The drums Got the Pianist 😂
I'm not simply getting through days, but these are certainly a beautiful way to end them.
Trivium 'Shadow of the abattoir"
Aw man you have a cap on Richard. I look forward to staring at you guys identical haircuts. I mean that with love. Killer content.
😂 Someone in the comments recently referred to it as the “Lego” haircut and now I can’t get that out of my head. I’m wearing a hat because we’re filming at the theater in Jackson, MS. I took some much needed PTO and came down to shoot some videos with Judson over the last couple of days. Not sure if you’re familiar with that area but Google has plenty of info on the water problems there. It leaves your hair looking like you washed it with baby oil instead of shampoo. 🤦♂️
Love a bit of System. Saw them at a festival many years ago when you could legally buy magic mushrooms, but remember very little other than they had a very colourful set.
😂😂 I would venture to say that probably a “magical” set.
Meanwhile the set had no lights or anything lmfao
This is my first time on this channel. I like the approach. Hasvthis man I assume is classically trained beem exposed to a selection of the original likeup of Black Sabbath?
Good video... SOD it's top... The vocals have in very musics a lalala... clear... But I waiting for your reaction to another band... A band that century break the limit prog music... The Mars Volta.
Havent heard that song in a while. Crazy time. After 9/11. So much emotion. I contemplated not long after the attacks what would happen to music. It looks like people got a lot less adventurous
august burns red, parkway drive, oceans ate alaska, please
Death Metal? Listen to Death Leprosy - someone choose which track.
Omg he hasn't finished his intro piano yet and I know this will be great! Such an overlooked SOAD track. You should show him Berlin's "Metro" followed by SOAD's cover. It's tasty.
Love this idea
Nice intro piano player & reactions. ( P/S : This prolly my one of my *Top 3 S.o.A.D* songs & also I adores underrated #GreenDay song called _Viva La Gloria (Little Girl)_ ) 🥹🥲🥹🥲🥹
Someone should’ve warned him about the distorted guitars that jump in on the intro
Love these videos. Just saw the Meshugga Bleed one ...
Dimmu Borgir, Progenies of the Great Apocalypse, piano version by Mustis
We actually did Progenies from Forces of the Northern Night today!
@@Greatmeasures you're killing me 🤣🤣
Autism meets savant. And it's beautiful.
Hey Richard, I forget how I initially discovered this track, but we have basically the same taste in music and I think you would really like this track.. Its only found on bandcamp and really no info on the band. Song is: le' dernier cri (pt. 1) by Ivan. Give it a spin
Wow! I just finished listening to it. I’m going to have to find out more about them. It’s like a technical/progressive version of Emery. Such a cool song. Thank you so much!
System Of A Down, play Armenian 🇦🇲 folk metal, but then I would argue that it isn’t even metal it’s probably just heavy folk 😅
Something from Haggard would be great or epic like Summoning.
You guys should do Disturbeds version of Sound of silence ✌️😇
Cool! SOAD, whenever I hear them, I always hear , The Dead Kennedys, and Megadeth/Metallica, cross breed, plus Armenian heritage ! Don’t shoot me, my interpretation!
Please do a sepultura song, roots bloody roots maybe
Please react to Equilibrium - Kurzes Epos!
GreAaaaaatTtt Measuresssss
This has very toolesque type of vibes
sometimes it is hard to divide death and black metal out, they share a lot of similar musical concepts. lots of minor scales, high shrieking, often times shitty production (not always), tremolo lingering on single notes, blast beats? probably black metal. more guttural vocals, more bass heavy low end, also "fatter" on the production site, but still very fast, often also tremolo picked and blast beats do feature, but more of a discernible groove and rhythmic variety? probably death metal. say a band like Emperor or Darkthrone and compare them to a band like Cannibal Corpse or Death and then tell me in what parts thez are similar and in what parts different. then re-engineer that to what you think is Death or Black Metal (without looking it up before). that would be my kind of suggestion. I am also oblivious as to what era or style a piece of classical music would be. Is it a Rondo, a sonata, does this come from the baroque era or more of a romanticism piece? without looking that up I would probably also be clueless.
When he asked me that question, I thought “I can tell the difference when I hear it but putting it into words on the spot seems impossible”. This is better than I ever could have explained it. Thank you.
That album (Mezmerize) is all killer no filler!!!!
"Haggard- de la morte noir" please
How about some King Diamond, from Abigail.
I think Judson would appreciate Brain Dance by Animals as Leaders. He might not like it but it is very different
I agree. I showed him Ego Death from Polyphia yesterday and he loved it. I know it’s not the same thing but it makes me think he would love The Brain Dance.
Oh man, "Brain Dance" will blow his mind. That song is something impossible to describe, a insane beauty.
wintersun - sons of winter and stars (sonic pump studios) please 🙏
I never knew Eminem was into Black Dahlia Murder.
😂😂
Can't wait till you pick up some Stratovarius
The band Death deserves some attention
Chelsea Wolfe - 16 Psyche
it's intersting when you guys react to black metal
Out of pure science can't help but wonder what does your friend think of Deep Purples "Clearly quite absurd"
where the fuck did you buy the Spawn of Possesion t shirt?
IndieMerchstore currently has it in stock.
www.indiemerchstore.com/products/spawn-of-possession-incurso-t-shirts
O my god! There's clearly a burnt out bulb under that balcony. Just change it now. Have you no humanity! Driving me nuts
Call the city of Jackson, MS for us. The theater needs funding. 😂
Give Judson a break with Sabaton-1916. 😅
you gotta do older songs. specifically toxicity album.
Richard , do ya think Jud would enjoy some Ugly kid Joe , I hate everything about you ? Or Be my Neighbor ?
I’m kicking myself for not thinking of this. I definitely think he would love “Everything About You”. Thank you so much.

Frank Zapper comes to mind?
I'm at 1 1 8 and I'm calling it Green Day I'm going to feel like an idiot if I'm wrong
Nailed it!
drum and bass has a lot of subgenres
An Interobang ‽
my dad is 72 and has less grey hair and plays everything
Blackened death metal - time for the almighty Goatwhore! Proceed Richard...and send me that hoodie! Lol
Goatwhore! 🤘I bought that hoodie when I saw TBDM on the Everblack tour. Drank some cheap whiskey with Trevor after the show that night. Some good memories attached to that hoodie.
@@Greatmeasures Saw them twice. Once at a festival in 2009 and once at a small club. Got to meet Trevor after the show. He was so amazing to the fans and took the time to get pictures and autographs for anyone who asked. The world is down a great person
@@RaistlinM4jere Absolutely. He was one of a kind.
@@RaistlinM4jere also, we did Blood Atonement yesterday. Should have it uploaded within the next couple of weeks. I think that was you that requested it on Patreon, right?
@@Greatmeasures That's great news! Sure was me. Hope y'all enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to finding out
The difference between black metal and death metal is AAAGGGGHHHHHHHHH and OOOOOOOGGGHHHHH come on Judson it's not that hard 😂
One is more American technical; the other more Norwegian church-burny.
Imagine being a "metalhead"
Literally a music genre, how shameful it is, right?
Imagine imagining.
😂
Ooo 😮 patreon and commercials...WATCH OUT NOW..yall gonna be joe rogan status soon 😂... Congrats tho on the success 4 real 🤘... Thats from the 🐛🐛🐛
AKA...BFN 😂
😂😂 The BFN! I really hope people don’t think we’re getting rich from this. When labels come in and claim the copyright to all the songs in the videos, there’s very little revenue. Doesn’t matter… we’re having a great time. And Patreon being $3 a month seems reasonable compared to some others I’ve seen. For the record, what does BFN stand for?
@@Greatmeasuresi wasnt trying to imply u were getting rich.. I meant your popularity brother.. And im happy your channel is taking off... BFN.. Man it means whatever yall want it to... Big freaking noodle... Big freaking worm...some guy just called me the THE BIG FANCY 😂...guess the BFN is something diff for everyone... Guess ill name my channel that to 😂😂😂..when i get off my A?? And make it happen right
@@TheBFN I didn’t mean to come across defensive if I did. The lack of context in the UA-cam comments section has probably caused wars. 😂
I say we leave the name open for interpretation. When you start your channel, you can leave your subscribers on the edge of their seats at all times by never telling them what it actually means. Your comments section will be flooded with “what does the BFN mean?!?!?” 😂
You didnt..no worries brother i caught what you meant 👌.. Shoot looks like BFN is already getting people wondering 🤔... 😂... Honestly i didnt have a idea for what it meant..not that i remember anyway..that just makes it more freaking funny 2 me and fun...i got a good laugh at yall saying it was big fancy noodle and wondering ? It stood 4
is that fat Eminem?
i bet i play better piano keyboard guitar drums bass flute everything better
