I invented the PAPR, almost 50 years ago. Foolishly, I published it in a magazine with photos, rather than patent the concept. They have come a long way!
Brilliant review Ben, just what I needed to know.
Cheers
Jim
Soon as I started watching that I thought how long before your first Star Wars reference 😂😂😂 ... good vid buddy, cracking grinding room! JP x
Great vlog, very useful, thanks for sharing.
Thanks. Over the top for what I do though if I were often metalworking I'd go for one of those.
excellent video, thanks for posting!
Love your lil axe for the box. I could do with one of them. Please send link to your shop 👍good vid
Thanks for posting detailed video! How do you clean filters, by the way?
do you think you could extend the hose to make it longer? is it a standard hose size?
Really interesting Thanks for sharing.
Ben's Grinder room. Always use personal protection.
Looks like every time you flip it up small dust particles can get on the inside lens or material seal because you push it up above your glasses onto the top of the hood which is exposed to dust on because it’s exposed to the outside.
This is a good ass video 👍👍👍 so informative, I spray paint so that’s why I was looking for this video.
For paint and fumes you need a tr600 w/ the organic vapor/carbon filter
Awesome. I wanna to buy exactly same kit :)
Interesting video thanks
Do you think it would work well for COVID-19? Or different type of mask?
Amazing video..papr best for front line doctors to fight against covid
Also curious if you researched the different models. I see you bough the tr-315 but there is a tr600 out as well as some other models. wondering what would be best for fine dust
tr600 has bigger filter bur mainly adds secondary function as a particulate + chemicals filtering device, where tr300 helps only with particulates as dusts. filters efficiency is the same (P3)
TR-315 if you need dust protection only.
TR-600 if you need protection from chemicals/vapours/gasses as well.
Ben. Great vid. Question. I have a big tummy, Can I get a belt extension ???
Sure it had a very long belt, I ended up cutting some off the strap as it was so long. 👍
Would these work cleaning old dusty log houses full of wood dust and insects dating from +200 years (1800-century) ? The floor and air is full of tiny dust particles visible with flashlight.
3M 7502 and 6800 are not sufficient. I use P3 and 6059 ABEK1 filters.
7502 is good but the seal fails if you move too much.
( 6800(medium) leaks too much it is not fit for my head. I don't know if 6900(large) is better.
I'm going to have to order this for me and my wife and crew
Great review. My company has been at work on a PAPR with an all in one design monocoque manifold. Our aim is a PAPR that's more accessible to the maker crowd. When we have certification, would you be willing to give it a try to compare? Its called MicroClimate Air3.
Will this protect me from latex paint, and drywall dust, and mold?
Well the beauty of this system is you can change the filters to suit what your working with. I have a particle filter but you need to get one that will work with other elements like paint and organic dust etc. 3M should be able advice what filter you need 👍
Am a stonemason I am thinking of buying one thay sound good 👍
Great video and info thanks again Boba Fett
any reason you chose this over the trend thats a third the price?
There’s really no comparison. Compared to the Versailles, the Trend is more of a toy. It puts the weight of motor and battery on your head. It has no certifications and only works for particulates. The Trend is like buying a condom that’s already opened. I mean sure it might work…
Versaflo (gotta love autocorrect.)
How would versaflo do in a sandstorm I'm goin to be working in a new harsh environment and want to be more prepared than just a shemagh and goggles 😂
Well you might find that the pre filter cloggs up but clean that out every so often and you should be golden. I think they are epic and so comfortable to wear for long periods. I can’t go back to normal masks now.
Excellent protection against the Coronavirus SARS-COV-2 too! Besides your workshop you can use it in the supermarket and public traffic and other busy public rooms also. I'm totally jealous.
A solid helmet gets a bit hotter if you are grinding
I thought it would, sense going for the open helmet option. thanks
great for coronavirus research
😂😂
