+RIFT Gromptastic The M1911 is an amazing gun... But hey a Glock is pretty good too. Or the Italian M9... Both of which are 9mm as opposed to 45. but nyeh
They'd actually be more or less evenly matched; Sam I think canonically is technically older than Snake, due to being just into his greys when Snake retired, which would be most likely just after MGS4, which Sam learned of in about 2018-2019. And Snake was getting really old because of accelerated aging. Both are just as effective at interrogation, Sam possibly being slightly better due to the fact he is a menace at it (it's a whole entire thing in Conviction), and both are amazing at pistols. However, I think I'd give Snake the edge primarily due to him being able to do stealth ops without prior gear and acquire his equipment on site, whereas Sam brings his gear in, like his snake cam, sonar vision, and pistol.
On the topic of voices: they said they replaced david hayter with keifer sutherland in mgs5, but do you not play as big boss and not solid snake?(who if Im not mistaken was originally voiced by keifer sutherland) EDIT: Looked it up and I was wrong. David Hayter did both apperently
MGS4 really ruined MGS2. MGS2 was suppose to be the end and was suppose to be a very open ended game where you decide theories on what occured by making the protagonist (Raiden) just like the player, which was confused as shit to all the mindfuck and making you question what is real. But then fans whined about wanting answers, and Kojima went "fuck it" and made a game he didn't want to make
But he made MGS3 first and MGS2 wasn't an ending, Snake clearly says he's not done and that Raiden should fight for what he believes in. Then Raiden went off and got enhancements and Snake continued trying to stop the Patriots and Metal Gears. MGS4 was a good ending it wrapped up everything an ended Solid Snakes storyline. Metal Gear Rising Revengeance and Metal Gear Solid 5 should be the ones questioned for Raiden and Big Boss' end story. Rising felt like a random addition so we can hack and slash with Raidens enhancements and had no tie in with the previous story cause it ended in 4 and MGS5 was just another Big Boss game taking after Peace Walker which doesn't add much to the story. After MGS4 the games were just adding to a story that was finished in MGS4, the Patriots and the AI system, Liquid Snake, Big Boss, Zero, Solid Snake, Metal Gear all ended there. So I think it's a pretty good ending. Raiden and what happened between Peace Walker and Metal Gear 1 was just loose ends that was touched up on after the main story ending cause Metal Gear fans love their Metal Gear games. I wish he'd make more, he can continue making Big Boss games cause how big the time skips are between MGS3, Peace Walker, Phantom Pain and Metal Gear 1, and keep making Solid Snake and Raiden games cause the time skips between Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid, possible something in between MGS and MGS2 but probably not and lots between MGS2 and MGS4.
"Does Sam Fisher really use a karambit knife?" Yeah, he does as of the latest game Blacklist. It's certainly an upgrade from the Gerber Guardian tactical knife he had before.
+Gísli Stefán in mgs 4 when ocelot dies, he says "you're pretty good", this is a reference to mgs 3 when ocelot passes out in a fight with snake, who stands over ocelot and says that he's pretty good even though snake beat him. Ocelot repeats this and passes out, so in mgs4, it was homage to mgs3
Regarding the whole "Snake's brain would have burned up in the microwave due to the water in it", if I remember correctly, one of the bosses in Metal Gear Solid 4 gives Snake a complete head-encasing Octo-camo mask that not only allowed him to modify how his head appears (such as look younger than he truly was), but also provides the same level of protection for his head as the rest of the body. Because of its thin material and ability to modify its camo that's equal to the rest of the suit, it's able to make itself completely invisible and make it appear that Snake isn't wearing anything over his head. In that case, it's possible that the mask protected Snake's brain in the microwave hallway. That said, it's been a while since I played MGS4 so I might be mistaken.
+BornFromVelvet See. i dont think thats possible. The hallway destroyed his octocamo in the process. If he were wearing the mask, it would have been destroyed too and you would be able to see it.
John Adams Actually, I think we're all sort of right about this. Like you said, the OctoCamo was basically being broken apart as time passed in the hallway. However, not all of it was destroyed; just enough that the camouflage function was busted and some sections of the suit popping out like electronic popcorn. However, the suit wasn't completely destroyed as it protected the rest of Snake's body from the microwaves. The FaceCamo went through the same process; parts of it must of been destroyed as there's a deep dark burn on one of Snake's cheeks. However, the rest of his head looks like it merely suffered a really bad sunburn, meaning the mask was able to preserve enough of the head to save Snake.
darthfrodo7 You mean the burn from pulling Big Mama out of the fire? No. He wasnt wearing the face camo. If he were, when it broke down it would have been extremely obvious that he was wearing it. Just chalk it all up to his nanomachines.
+Spiral Haze Well voice actors sign contracts for certain companies as well. There's more to the process than just signing the VA, if they have voiced the character professionally they'll have to contact the company that hired them in the first place. Yang gets her original voice actor since Rooster Teeth approved SA to do so (which isn't hard since SA and RT are sister companies under Fullscreen).
as much as i loved sam fisher and actually grew up playing the splinter cell series first....i knew he would come up short against solid snake. Snake has literally gone toe to toe with extremely deadly enemies...even a damn cyber ninja in grey fox and a freaking nuclear mech in metal gear rex. snake is too much of a G.O.A.T. for the G sam
Well, snake's extra resistance to microwaves is due to the fact that Big Boss had been exposed to nuclear radiation twice before they used his cells to make Solid. Therefore, leaving Solid slightly immune (not completely).
Regarding the hallway of microwaves bit, if we go with the assumption that Snake's suit it was allowed him to survive, then the degree to which the feat is fantastical depends on whether or not the player has the facecamo equipped whilst doing it. The water is a bit murky when it comes to that considering that you aren't required to have it on to succeed in that part of the game.
I just assume Snakes head was fine due to the nanobots inside of him inside the microwave, like they said the nanobots survived the entire time he was in there.
Just curious, but does anybody know if Kevlar/rhino plate is good against knives? It just seems like it was too easy to stab Sam after they went out of the way to point out that Sam's suit was armored vs. Snake's which was unarmored in comparison
Being a MGS fanboy, i'll try to defend the microwave thnig. I can understand the points and there totally fine but I think the way Snake survive it was the armor, his training to endure such torture and his nanomachines. The Nanomachines in MGS do so much shit that I wouldn't doubt it could protect him from radiation.
+Zealot126 Yeah. Who knows how much his nanomachines help him. In the MGS universe nanomachines can be insane in what they do. Vamps made him nearly immortal. And lets not forget Senator Armstrong.
Well, if you think about it, Snake could have been wearing the Octo-camo face mask at the time, which has the same properties as his suit, and could have protected him.
Snake killed Venom Snake. Venom wanted to Kill himself (along with Snake) so the world sees that "Big Boss" is dead while the real Big Boss is out building the REAL Outer Heaven in Zanzibarland. Big Boss saw that his greatest comrade Venom Snake has been defeated and so he supposedly finished his Outer Heaven in Zanzibarland and awaits Snake to their final battle
+Victor Von Doom It also helps that Ben's girlfriend is a Funimation VA and Chad does a weekly podcast about anime with Funimation employees. Funny considering the accusations against SA by some anime fanboys.

“Gonna be a way more even matchup” That aged poorly very fast. It instead became one of the biggest stomps in DB. Edit: anyways, the only nitpick I have is that Snake aged badly since he’s a clone. His nano machines had nothing to do with that.

+Becky Marvin What are you even saying? They don't irradiate anything in terms of radioactivity. Normal ovens irradiate your food too, that just means it radiates some kind of energy and microwaves *are* energy.
Renegades React While they got much right, there was some they got wrong. One was that there were 3 Clones not 2 (1. Solid Snake, 2. Liquid Snake and 3. Solidus Snake), though we never see the 3rd untill MGS2. Another was a huge wrong in that the accelerated aging (which all 3 clones suffered from, the 3rd way more then the first 2) was NOT caused by the nanomachines or Foxdie. The 3 clones were genetically created to have short lifespans and unable to reproduce. I think Sam would've won in stealth and hand to hand. Snake may be specially trained in CQC, but that style was created to disarm and disable in close quarters. But Sam's styles in hand to hand and with his straight knife and Kurambit knife are ment to disable, kill, both quickly and effectively. The Kurambit especially as had Sam used it like it was supposed to be, Snake would've went down super quickly. They do, do their research, but not thoroughly enough to have all the facts correct. More like they look up facts but are somewhat lazy about it.
Daniel Bridges Snake's training actually improves upon what Sam's training did. But if we were going by feats and arsenal here, it's a massive stomp in Snake's favor.
As if. Snake was capable of going toe to toe with gray fox. A man wearing an armored suit exactly like his capable of slicing bullets out of the air. Sam couldn't have done anything in hand to hand.
It was a great battle and in my opinion in a vacuum without support it would be a draw. Think that snake has been through hell, extremely tough while Sam Fisher barely gets touched because he is so good at stealth and espionage. It literally is 2 approaches to stealth. But to be fair to Fisher here he exists in a world where you don't have super nanites to augment your body and the technology snake has is more advanced. But strip that all away and It is even both are experts on hand to hand combat and would give each other a good ass kicking. I will forget the Microwave excuse from MGS4 because it is poor writing and a bit much in my opinion. But I take the beating Snake had In MGS snake eater into certain consideration. As well as with Sam Fisher having taken on every challenge he has faced and barely gotten a scratch on him except for once or twice even then he still kicked their asses while injured. I love both franchises and both the characters and are both the absolute best at what they do. I can only imagine if they teamed up how devastating it would be.
+Nickrr1992 Even without nanomachines, Snake is still way superior to Sam in close quarter combat, and at least equal in marksmanship. The only way Sam could possibly win was by a stealth-kill or straight up luck in a firefight. They were very generous to Sam in this episode, Snake only had his pistol and they made it look like Sam was almost as good as Snake in close quarters, which is simply not true.
The real question isn't why Snake's Solid Eye and Nano-machines survived the EMP...How the hell did the Data Packet survive? xD I mean don't get me wrong they probably took some form of precaution to do so but...Meh, not important I guess. :P
