- A short video to give you an understanding of jig types and how to rig them. There are many types and a few misconceptions on what hooks to use. I share my knowledge and opinion on some of the jigs I use when fishing.
To find more information on some of the jigs I use, see the following links.

The 8 ring and swivel are both something new to me and I’ll certainly be adding those to the terminal tackle collection
Yes they were suggested to me and have been fantastic.

Tried jigging for the first time yesterday, got a 30+kg cod, pearl peach and tusks, out fished my dad who was using squid. I’m sold, jigs rule, I like the double hook jigs, hook either end worked great over rubble bottom.
That’s brilliant mate, worth having them to try if things are not firing on bait.
Most informative thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Yes
Those swivels are news to me, going to have to grab a pack or 2 and try them.
Certainly worth a go
@justyouraveragefishos Thanks for vid, very informative! Curious to know what tools are used in working with the small split rings as I don't have the fingernails for that lol, any details you have would be appreciated, thanks!
Ahhh split ring pliers, found it, thanks
What difference between jigs and lures ?
Wonderful
Thank you
Bro, please say - 1 assist hook on metal jig is enough? May be there is reason rigged treble hook in tail of metal jig?
Most are only rigged with one hook but some have a short stinger hook at the rear but you need to be careful they don’t tangle.
@@justyouraveragefishos Great thanks! I will try! May be I will rigged double hooks in head!
snaps no good then? For a quick lure change?
hmm I''m still deciding on a pear shape ring or the 8 ring..
Don’t think it really matters, just use what you are happy with.
Brother how to get this lure? please tell me it is possible send to Bangladesh.I need some jig lure
May be u can get some from India.
Great video. Why do the jigs have an eyelet at both ends if you only use the top eyelet to tie to your main line and to have the hook hang from the same eyelet?
Henry Sammut really great question. Some people like to use the jigs with a stinger hook at the rear or use the jig as an in-line weight so line and hook are connected to the rear. We generally just rig to the front as fish that attack jigs hot head first in 99% of times.
You can rig an extra hook,it works better if there is no reef under you, better hook up rate.
Having a Hook at Distal Eye can snag your lure in Reef or stones. It is an option to place hook
fast jigging use spinning rod ( better action : you can use the motion of the rod up and down to reel and that will make your jig slide perfectly + reaching the bottom quicker then over heads + gear ratio doesnt mean higher line retrieve what means that is in per turn so over heads have higher gear ratio but not higher line retrieve then spinning real except when you have large spool + fun : spinning reels are more fun fighting the fish not like you will use your rod to pump and then real of the slack with your spinner + drag : spinning real drag is mostly far more better then over heads) .
slow jigging use over head ( better action : the main thing in slow jigging is slow sinking opposite of fast jigging and thats easily achievable with over heads because you can control the tension of your free spool giving that neat slow sink flutter + fighting the fish: its easier to fight a fish with over heads because you cant pump that far most of slow rods are not designed to fight fish but they are meant for slow jig action meaning you are going to fight the fish with the reel and thats actually good if you are tired or you need to get the fish up as quick as you can and you dont need drag that much + more line using over head means you can pack more line then spinner and that very good if you want to do deep sea fishing up to 500m and more + durability over heads can take more load then spinning reels and have less stuff to break) .
over all you choose what you like you can use both of both its your call .
and when it comes to jigs : fast jigs are symmetrical doesnt matter if its a butterfly or knife jig as long as both sides are symmetrical which make them move faster and feel lighter in the water but it takes hell of moving them fast to make the action work (depending on there design even in fast jigging some jigs are slower then others) .
slow jigs are not symmetrical doesnt matter if its long short fast skinny if it doesnt have the same curves and lines in both sides its not symmetrical aka its a slow jig and its easier to work then fast ones because of the slow lifts and retrieves(depending on there design even in slow jigging some jigs are faster then others).
both are good and effective fast jigs when your chasing fast fish or when the fish are active slow jigs the opposite .
For depths 30-50 meters, is good jigs 80-100 gramms?
Depending on current rate really. General rule of thumb is 1-2 grams per meter of depth but in high current you will need lots more.
I can produce jig bait, do you need it?
Superglue goes ok on knots.
Can you use any of these reels to cast and reel?
Yes you can jig with both spin and overhead reels but some are more suited than others.
Thanks my brother
No problem
If you go to a place that has a lot of fish even if you use your shoe as bait you’ll catch fish
Would love to see your videos of catching fish using shoes for bait.
