You are right, things have changed. We've been at war for a decade, this country has gone through a depression and this music now makes more sense now than ever. The music industry though in General has gone to shit. But that doesn't change the fact that king 810 comes out of something directly linked to modern day America.

I can't count how many times I've blown out my voice screaming to this & Alpha Omega. To be making KILLER heavy shit AND KILLER rap separately & simultaneously is insane, David is truly the king.
I met the lead singer, and holy shit is he one of those people that you don't judge a book by its cover on. I knew he would be chill but he was fucking super chill. Got to take pictures with the guy.
Would you be able to answer then, do them seem nearly as "hard" as their persona, or do they seem like its more of a gimmick? I'd almost prefer it to be a gimmick, because their music isn't heavy enough to backup the "We'll fucking kill you" vibe they're going for.

Scars on my skin...I forget the person I am under them. As hard as it's been, I know it gets harder than this..... So much harder than this...................... thank you King 810....keeping me alive....
Let's be honest this band is making the Slipknot albums that were supposed to be after Iowa before Slipknot went soft. These guys are straight brutality. I love it.
This band has really intrigued me as of late. I've heard all about some of the criticism towards some of their onstage imagery and prior personal indiscretions of a few of their members. But this song in particular just has such an incredibly haunting vibe. It is definitely heavily influenced by early Slipknot (makes perfect sense that they're touring together). I got to watch their set at Knotfest and their live show is just pure intensity.
Thank you King for this music.. poetry to me.. I'm 26 I've lost 36 people.. the closest each year for the last 4 years.. heroin from shootings prison to cancer... realize as you get older you really don't care and you turn hollow inside.. David's a pretty damn good lyricist and I can't wait to hear the tale of the whole debut album. Honestly ppl might not like this style, but it's the most interesting thing to happen to metal in a long time. I'm loving it
Joseph Smith Honestly by music video standards, it’s pretty good. Most music videos are extremely unintelligible over-stimulating montages. While this one is to an extent, they still threw in some interesting artistic choices and the people running is a cool theme.
I would love a King 810 and Slipknot collab. They're both on Roadrunner so the chances are pretty big. It would also be a huge popularity lift for K8 because they definitely aren't as popular is Slipknot.
King810 is great because they’re older music gets better as they make new music. A great artist can reference themselves. There are times when David says things that reference earlier albums and only a great artist can reference their own shit.

Klo Riley I had family who was born in Detroit and Flint, Michigan. Back in the day, it was better. Then the auto industries left. Detroit and Flint have become dangerous as all hell, very poor areas. My grand-father goes to Detroit every year to visit family and he says there are streets with only one house on them as the rest have been burned down or abandoned. Police take hours to respond to calls. He says houses burn and the fire department lets them burn, crime is horrible. He says the same is with Flint. When my grandma lived in Flint Michigan back in the 60s and so she said she locked herself in her home with a gun because of the Detroit riot in 1967 and she feared the violence would spread her way. They are just poor, sad, destroyed cities, but my grandfather said every year he goes back the area looks better and better. There is still hope for Flint and Detroit.
I don't know too much about Flint, which is weird considering I live around here. I assumed it was a place like ann arbor. I live about 15 mins from Detroit and not all of it is horrible. I used to stay there in the summer at my dad's and it was safe and calm except for all the little kids playing loudly outside. I know what you mean about the bad parts, though. My grandma unfortunately lives out there ("the east side") and everything is exactly how your grandfather described.
Klo Riley Yeah I know not all of it is horrible, my grandfather tells me about the family picnic they go on while he is out there visiting and the nicer places he goes to. He says there are still lots of nice parks, restaurants and the such. It isn't all bad, but the bad areas of these cities are REALLY bad. And like I said, a lot of the city is getting better, it is just taking a lot of time since the main sources of work (automobile industries) vanished. I hope I can come out to visit Michigan someday, possibly on a trip with my grandfather.

Well if his life's been as shit as this and their Midwest Monster's EP says, then this has gotta be the happiest ( X 10 ) part of his life right now.
This band is truly unlike anything else. Unbelievably amazing.
