Papa Emeritus no, mushroomhead fans started throwing stuff at slipknot while they were performing, and it just kept on going through the years. I don't know of a single slipknot fan that thinks that way about the masks.
I see why people compare it to slipknot but the masks and the intention behind the music are two extremely different things, slipknot has more of a nu/heavy metal sound and mushroomhead has a industrial metal sound to it. Slipknot also deals with more personal topics while it seems mushroomhead has more about social commentary (feel free to correct me if i’m wrong about anything I just got into them about 3 or 4 months ago)
They had some problems earlier on but Corey Taylor has recently gone on mic a couple of times saying he's down. Here's to hoping things fall into place post-pandemic.

There are 3 types of people watching this video. Those who hate it because its not Slipknot, those who hate it because they think it's too similar to Slipknot, & those who see this as different work from a different artist, either liking one more than the other, but still respecting the work of both.
I am one of those who love both bands. I was not overly familiar with either until my son turned me on to them. He told me each band has its own merits and I should choose for myself. He also made the same point you did, that they don't "sound" alike, nor do they look alike. The ONLY similiarity between them is that both bands sport masks. I would too, if only to hide my true identity from the general public! Thank you for reminding folks that they should just respect the music!

ShinraFugitives Not really, SlipKnoT’s self titled was really the only album they had rap metal, except maybe Antenna’s to Hell album, but I’m not sure if that is just a demo or a regular studio album. Also, aren’t rap and hip hop the same thing? Or at least very similar? Mushroomhead would actually be more industrial and alt metal with some Avant-grade and Nu metal thrown in there, SlipKnoT is more Nu metal now a days. Iowa was the only album to really feature elements of other types of metal genres, specifically death metal.

I remember in the early 2000s, I've found Slipknot to be mind blowing with the created artistic univers, the masks, the "in your face" riffs, the "high" snare. I remember finding the mixes of Mushroomhead a bit boomy, wooly and too dense in the low end and low mids. But the evolution of the last years is just incredible. Today Mushroomhead is the best masked band in the world. The videos are just incredible, the masks, the intensity, the mixes are (to my taste) more in your faces. I just can't wait that this pandemic ends and hope to have them here in Europe.
Have to disagree, this was the last good Mushroomhead era, I would even call it the last passable era. New MH is just trailer park rock. Slipknot on the other hand always had better musicians and music, MH started the masks but Slipknot is far superior

I see why people compare it to slipknot but the masks and the intention behind the music are two extremely different things, slipknot has more of a nu/heavy metal sound and mushroomhead has a industrial metal sound to it. Slipknot also deals with more personal topics while it seems mushroomhead has more about social commentary (feel free to correct me if i’m wrong about anything I just got into them about 3 or 4 months ago)

Mushroom Head and Slipknot need to do a collaboration together.
They had some problems earlier on but Corey Taylor has recently gone on mic a couple of times saying he's down. Here's to hoping things fall into place post-pandemic.

I am one of those who love both bands. I was not overly familiar with either until my son turned me on to them. He told me each band has its own merits and I should choose for myself. He also made the same point you did, that they don't "sound" alike, nor do they look alike. The ONLY similiarity between them is that both bands sport masks. I would too, if only to hide my true identity from the general public! Thank you for reminding folks that they should just respect the music!

Quit comparing Slipknot and Mushroomhead, two totally different bands, yes, they both wear masks and play metal, but that is where the similarities end. One isn’t better than the other, if you say one is better than the other than that is your opinion, not a fact. Just shut up and enjoy the damn music.

Not really, SlipKnoT’s self titled was really the only album they had rap metal, except maybe Antenna’s to Hell album, but I’m not sure if that is just a demo or a regular studio album. Also, aren’t rap and hip hop the same thing? Or at least very similar? Mushroomhead would actually be more industrial and alt metal with some Avant-grade and Nu metal thrown in there, SlipKnoT is more Nu metal now a days. Iowa was the only album to really feature elements of other types of metal genres, specifically death metal.

I remember in the early 2000s, I've found Slipknot to be mind blowing with the created artistic univers, the masks, the "in your face" riffs, the "high" snare. I remember finding the mixes of Mushroomhead a bit boomy, wooly and too dense in the low end and low mids. But the evolution of the last years is just incredible. Today Mushroomhead is the best masked band in the world. The videos are just incredible, the masks, the intensity, the mixes are (to my taste) more in your faces. I just can't wait that this pandemic ends and hope to have them here in Europe.
Have to disagree, this was the last good Mushroomhead era, I would even call it the last passable era. New MH is just trailer park rock. Slipknot on the other hand always had better musicians and music, MH started the masks but Slipknot is far superior
