LOL! Oh Nina! I not only stitch on the back of the work but I don't have to leave it and then after a while. If I don't watch it, I'll stitch on the back in the same sitting! Glad to know that even the experts do that. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, I love the colour of your thread. Thanks for the tips. I want to share what I do to ensure I am on the right side of my work. I put a small safety pin in the top of one of the corners of my piece. It works well for me for different types of needlework. Happy stitching everyone.
Yes, I am working on this portion right now. Taking a break today and binge watching Craftsy's free classes day!. But loving getting back into Hardanger and Nina is fabulous- such clear and easy instructions. Are you also doing this piece?
Carol in Arkasas yes I am. I almost finish with the tutorials. Love this so much I am doing two pieces in different colors. I totally agree Nina is so special. She actually is the reason I felt confident in trying hardanger.
Hi Nina. I love your videos and have watched them repeatedly. Now I finally decided to "drink the Kool-Aid". I've ordered by material and thread and jumping on the HAL. So excited.
You are such a wonderful teacher. You explain things so well. I have had a couple of successful forays into hardanger but I continuously encounter the problem of "painting myself into a corner" when doing filling stitches. Any suggestions for avoiding that. Thanks so much and I will continue to follow your videos.
Hi Rosemary, sorry to take so long to get back to you. I've had the same issue with the filling stitches, especially at the beginning. I would have to sit and map out the direction before putting in the first stitch. When we do the filling stitches on this pattern, I'll talk about the path and hopefully that will help some. However, sometimes it's just unavoidable and into the corner it is. Then just weave your thread at the back of your work behind the stitches to the next starting spot. Thanks so much for watching!
I wish I could make that mistake, there is no confusing the back of my work, it’s too darn messy! I’m getting a little better at planning my journeys around the motifs but have a long way to go yet! 👵🏻

Great idea Marie-Reine, I'm so glad you mentioned it.
What a GREAT idea. Going for a pin now!!! One of my quilting pins may work nicely for this. :)
Carol in Arkasas Hi Glad that you like the idea. Actually quilting pins is what I use. Are you working on the hardanger?

Question: When we have to undo our work the thread seems frayed is better to not reuse It?
I would say don't use it unless you really need to conserve thread. But better to waste a bit and have the finished piece look nicer!
Stitching with a Smile thanks will follow your advice.
It depends. If it isn't too frayed you can. Sometimes you can't tell it was reused.
