I find that if I stitch the eyelet first in one direction for only the corner and middle stitches and then stitch in the opposite direction to complete the in between stitches, the finished eyelet looks better aligned. Just sharing what I tried.
Just watched this while relaxing in my hotel room after a nice day in Helsinki. I was wondering - I will probably be using one colour for the inner eyelets, and another for the outer ones. Would it be silly to make one set tighter than the other? Just to try out the difference in a pulled and a non-pulled eyelet.

Not silly at all, in fact I like the idea. It will look like two different stitches and add more interest to your piece. Go for it!
