  • Catching a big fish is one of the most exciting things about fly fishing. But they can be very tricky to target, especially if you don't know what to look for. Luckily, my good friend CJ is a master at targeting big brown trout. He spends a ridiculous time on the water and has really been able to dial his fishing in. I was fortunate to link up with him a few weeks back and shoot this video. In this video, CJ shares some helpful tips that will hopefully help you catch bigger fish...Enjoy!

    Love the opening shot looking from just above the water. Recommended viewing for anyone stuck in a cold weather state. Another person who I've met being featured in your work. Great job Scotty.

    Great video and great tips, thanks. My turkey hunting philosophy is about the same as your's is about moving fish. If I hit the call box and a gobbler answers, it's a successful hunt. I don't have to shoot it to enjoy it.

    5 Dislikes? Haters are gonna hate. I LOVED this. Well done guys. Love CJ's work and hope one day to share a stream with him. Has immense knowledge of where to find, how to fish for, and consistently hunt big fish. I appreciate you condensing some of his tips down to 11 mins. It was impressive to see that he is such a fish whisperer that at the 9 min mark fish are jumping out of the water in the background just to be on camera with him :) Keep doing great things, it is appreciated up north! Tight lines!

    You gotta get crazier with your colors man. I'm telling you, Bright orange bellies and as much blue or gold or silver flash as possible. Essentially mahimahi colors. On a bright sunny day, you can get some of the craziest reaction strikes for those mega browns you are after.

    Great Cinematography. But guy using 7 wt for those small fish? Bonefish wt for mediocre trout ? Ok.

    • @theclordj12
      @theclordj12 4 роки тому +6

      Appreciate your opinion here. While I agree with you from a fighting power perspective that a 6 or 7wt is quite a bit of rod for smaller fish, the fish fighting power is not the reason for the chosen wt. in rod. When using sinking line and larger streamers, its a necessity in order to be able to cast. A 3,4,5 wt simply lack the capability or backbone to cast a 250 grain sink line with a 4-6 inch streamer effectively.
