I was the last person to play this guitar which is also seen in the money for nothing music video, the live aid concert and countless other performances from mark knopfler. Before it sold for £480,000 at Christie’s ( I understand people are disappointed that I may have hit the headstock on the stand, but what you guys don’t realise is, I was somehow given the opportunity to hold this guitar and I took it and that came with a lot of pressure so I get it if your annoyed that you didn’t get to hold the guitar but even if you did I’m sure your hands would be trembling.
@@federicosciarrettagameshow4712no way! Mark did care a lot about his guitars over the years and over all that tours and shows....they all look like new...look at that red schecter telly.....❤
Yes, he clearly took great care of those guitars. I think the collection was a mix of guitars he played a lot on record and on stage along with guitars that probably just caught his eye and were rarely played. Some of them are very unusual, exotic designs, works of art even if not as effective to play as MK does.
Omg man, that's really a dream! I just followed you on instsgram. I'm from Brazil and a big fan of Mark, the best player in the world, I realy like to see that exist people that like this kind of stuff like me
@@jamespett7271 I was surprised, too. I could understand them wanting to be protective of it. But you gave the vibe of someone trustworthy and very respectful.
I went to preview of all the guitars at Christies and that guitar was hanging on wall in special room with MFN video and people were holding the neck and taking selfies. Christies are very laid back plus you can get free coffee and chocolate biscuits. I just been to see the Pattie Boyd,) George Harrison and Eric Clapton) stuff up for auction..
That thing was fixing the auction for a half a million dollars and it's sitting back there in a room on a bulshit guitar stand... Thing would be in an ultra guitar case in its own God damn safe
According to the engineer during the BIA sessions, Mark played MFN on a Les Paul Special with P90s. And indeed, I can get much closer to that sound with P90s, so I reckon that his recollection is correct.
Mark is a humble guy, I think he'd be thrilled to see someone taking interest in his music, since most of those guitars are probably going to collectors who don't even play.
Lmao imagine if he broke the string. The guy probably would have had a stroke. Then they can’t charge an extra $35,000 for Mark’s dead skin cells and sweat on the g string 😂
No way bro I love your content so much !! I don’t know how but this lady took me out back to where the main guitars were and some how let me hold them 😂
The guitar could have sold for more until james beat the hell out of it and smashed it off of the guitar stand…. Yeah james, you were the last to play it, for that very reason. Lmao.
This boy is so enamored with the guitar finish, he's not paying attention to how-close he comes to banging the headstock into the wall.....
I almost had a panic attack watching it

I thought it was a Les Paul junior ? Also you are correct however this guitar was used mainly in their live performances and in the MFN music video

Just devalued it I bet MK would be pissed to see that happen to his guitars
