EVH changed how millions played the guitar. You just can’t say that about Knopfler. No hate. Just a fact.
@@FYMASMD agree .. thats why i said musically mark always appealed to me than EVH .. but its music ..diff strokes to diff people ..peace
@@FYMASMDnah that was Tommy Iommi. Eddie was just fooling around, essentially.

What a nice ,humble and polite person! Lot s of "superstars" could learn from him!❤
I always got the impression from his early videos that his little smiles were expressions of slight embarassement at being so lauded for being so good.
You are a great man Mark ! Very, very
talented. Yeah man, you brought a lot of joy, to a lot of people ! I am just one
of millions !! You are GREAT !!!
It's true that trying to know who the best guitar player is is nonsense. Because the dice were loaded from the start: MK is the man.
It's a foolish debate. I put Knopfler near the top of my list because of his incredible unique style of guitar playing and songwriting. He's in a class by himself.
He is among the greatest without a single doubt. I like so much things about the way he plays the guitar. Just to mention one song...I like very very much what he does in the last two minutes of "Single Handed Sailor" from Dire Straits. Communique album.
So humble!
it's sad to see that my heroes are getting older.... mark knopfler is one of the most melodic player that i've ever seen !
He could play my broom handle and make it sound like a Gibson or Strat
Wow what a humble man!
Love you Mark, will always love your mesmerising strumming🎸🎸🎸♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Check out his latest release. Particularly like the song ‘Janine’ at the moment. 🎸
I love the solo at about 2.09 into that song.
One of the best people one of the best talents. What a guy. The world is a better place because of Mark Knopfler. He's the man, and I love him and wish the best in everything for him❤
Great interview too.
My two nominations for best rock guitarist ever-wow, it's so tough-are Mark Knopfler and the late Peter Green.

As a young teenager I also stood at the guitar shop window watching the Les Paul Artisan going around on a turntable. Must be thousands of us out there, lucky enough to see Mark in the Grove pub in Leeds, I think he named his studio after that pub.
Love you soooooooi much Mark Knopfler ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Does "everything wrong" but still produces the most beautiful tones, riffs and solos ever heard on a guitar!
Yes Mark, you are without ANY doubt the best ever. 👍👍❤️
Mark is good enough to know that he’s not the greatest guitarist but that he is very good.
He is to me
Well said you must be a player.
I'm just learning to play the guitar, I'm 7 months in. Hearing him tell of how he learned to play and the difficulties he had let's me know I'm on the right track. I think it's great that he's so grounded and his fame hasn't gone to his head like so many others.
Keep it up. I’ve always wanted to play but have never tried.
@@chrisatkins7959 I always wanted to but thought I wasn't smart enough. Then I thought sod it I'm going to try anyway, 8 months in now and I can play the acoustic beginning of "stairway to heaven" and a few riffs and stuff along with a few other tunes.
If you want it do it, life is too short.
Why' aye, man.
I am so thankful this guy picked up the guitar and treated us to such refined and melodic playing.
For me the solo at the end of the 'Tunnel Of Love' is a pearler. The slow build up as he's recalling the Spanish city and how pretty it all looked. Then as the pace picks up he's telling us all, through his guitar, just how it all felt to him in a way that words could not describe.
It is a stunning piece of music that lifts me and moves me every time i hear it. Rock on Mark. And thank you.
I couldn't agree more. Such beauty in his playing.
Not much to say. Just cherish people like Mark Knopfler.
You certainly inspired me. You are my favorite musician Mark. I usually appreciate songs but artists who made them are not always that inspiring. You've always been different. Thank you from heart
Mark Knopfler is definitely up there, but I am glad to see that he has humility. I saw him perform at Radio City with Dire Straits way back in the 1980s, and he and the band were incredible, modulating into songs sans stopping. It was one of the best concerts I have witnessed to date. Thank you, Mark! You keep me plugging away as a singer/songwriter/recording artist.
That story around the 2:50 mark......very touching and Mark remembers too - great guy
All the greats have something unique from the first few notes they are instantly recognizable
and the same goes for him.
