I have to say something... A big difference between Italians and Americans it that Italian aren't patriotics at all...a lot of people in Italy in facts hate their own country. Because there is a lot of economic crisis between North Italy and South Italy
In the 9 months I was in Naples, I've eaten a lot of pizza in that very same restaurant. Nothing else like in the world.

Yea, we eat full pizza because is more digestible and genuine than american pizza.
Americans do eat slices for a quick lunch, snack, etc but entire pies are far more popular. A lot of places don't even sell it by the slice.

Naples is the birthplace of the "Modern pizza" when sauce was added to the focaccia. Fooods very similar to pizza dates back all the way to the neolithic age ( like 8,000-10,000 b.c. or something) But the word pizza was invented in 997AD in Gaeta. But Naples did invent the modern day pizza as i mentioned above and was mainly just in the province of italy. This changed after world war 2 when allied troops stationed in italy came to really enjoy the pizza and since became pretty much an international food. *Then in 1960's 2 brothers found a way to make pizza out of cardboard and opened the Dominos franchise* ( Seriously though how do some of these chains even make profit, you can go to almost any mom and pop pizza shop in almost any town/city and get a much much better pie for the same price or cheaper)
Not everyone lives in Italy, most of the world is stuck with dominos.
The real deal. Cant get anymore authentic than Naples Pizza.

Canadian here. I must say that the pizza is Italy is THE BEST! The stuff in north America is not even close. Yes, I've tried Chicago, New York and Montreal, its good but it'sa no really pizza if you know what I mean.

Not really. Michele is really good pizza at its best but depending of your taste and the dough, you may prefer Sorbilllo, Starita, 50 Kalò, Pepe in Grani, etc.. 😋
I saw a vid of a guy in costco making pizza without gloves and there were so many people complaining about him not wearing gloves in the comments but then when I go here, this guy is making a pizza without gloves but I don't see anybody complaining in the comments

I used to work in a italian pizza place la porchetta and they are all italians...ill tell you right now they make better pizza than anybody does hands down and im not even italian...the amount of actual toppings and love that goes into every pizza you can taste...also in brisbane Sams pizza another italian this one is family owned...f***** amazing stuff expensive pizzas but massive and worth every penny

According to recent philological studies, however, the story of Brandy's pizza would be a "false historical"; It seems the pizza was born in Naples well before 1889, that is between 1796 and the 1810.
Actually, The Pizza was born in Naples between 1796 and 1810. The philologist Emanuele Rocco, in the second volume of the book "Uses and Costumes of Naples " and described outlines and paintings by Francesco De Bourcard published in 1858, wrote various combinations of seasoning with several ingredients including basil, "pomidoro" and "thin slices of muzzarella".
Actually pizza was quoted in a rent contract of 1200 where lessee granted a forniture of a certain number of pizze (30-40?) to his landlord.
It was obviously white pizza with various cheese toppings, as long as tomato started being used in Italian cuisine around 1600.
Modern pizza encounters tomato in 1796 and it revealed a perfect marriage. That's what you credited as birth of pizza.

The "problem" in my opinion is that in every place in the world you will find a pizza "adapted" to the tastes of the local population. I am Italian and I am terribly attracted to American cuisine, great hamburgers, excellent meat, bacon and much more, probably here in Italy the "American" restaurants cook dishes a little different from those you eat in the USA. The same goes for pizza, in the USA you eat a pizza that is very different from what you eat in Italy.

That’s not the oldest the oldest is in Naples forgot the name but if I remember correctly seeing the menu it was founded in 1738
To be precise Brandi is birthplace only of Pizza Margherita, and not even of the Margherita kind, as long as it is testimonied it was existing in Naples since 1810. Brandi just christianed it with "Margherita" name in order to catch Queen benevolence...

The pizza margherita was not only made for the queen, its simplicity paid homage to the Italian flag's colors. But in Italy, you eat your pizza with a knife and fork, not the hands. That's why they are not sliced, but brought whole on a plate, one pizza per diner.

The traditional pizza has as few ingredients on it as possible.
Other than your base, the tomato sauce or puree (for want of a better word) and the mozzarella cheese you really shouldn't have any more than 2 ingredients (by way of a topping).
It's supposed to be a very simple dish.
