What an amazingly beautiful visit today. I LOVE books too. The feel, the smell, the excitement of a new investigation into herbs or a tale of long ago that I revisit over and over. I have a dream of someday visiting Ireland as my grandmother’s people are from around Galway region. Thanks for sharing your little slice of peace with us.
What a 'coincidence': yesterday evening I was listening to some Irish music, went to my bookshelf and took the book about fairies and folktales from W.B Yeats out (published in the seventies or eighties) Instead of listening to nature, they're cutting here all the forests. I can't walk in nature anymore, because there's no nature left and it hurts. Ten years ago this was the greenest part of the Netherlands. Thank you dear neighbour from Ireland, for your inspiring booklist! 🙏

Bookworms we are! I've moved into a new home and the unpacking has taken me daaaays! Books, books, books! How I love them! Yes, I love technology too but nothing beats the feel of the book. Thank you for sharing that lovely collection.
Thank you for all of the beautiful recommendations! Just a note for others that in the US, Witch Light was published under the name The Highland Witch. I adored Corrag. The book has that amazing quality of wild magic that makes you want to permanently live outdoors.
I absolutely love books. Several times family members have offered to buy me a kindle but I couldn't imagine getting the same excitment I get from holding and opening a book from switching on a device
Thank you!💕💕💕I was a reference librarian and knew deep in my soul that books would survive the internet. There's nothing like a 3 year old holding a book and turning its real pages as you read them a fairytale.
Hi Terri! Books are my addiction, they are my friends & family (I even have one's that live on my bed). One of my favourite quotes comes from Cicero: If you have a garden and a library you have everything you need". Thank You for sharing! Also, your house looks so lovely!!!🌻🌺🐝🐞🦋
I always get excited when knowledgeable and wise people like you share the books they value. because I know there's a possibility I will value them as well. Thank you so much. Sending you lots of love and reading happiness from America! 🤓❤🌱📚
Thank you so much - lots of reading happiness to you too. It is always lovely to meet and discuss books we have loved. I always get enthused talking with others about favourite books. xx
I prefer books over online. I especially love vintage books on my special interest. Enjoy so much your videos, and the scenic views each week are beautifully and thoughtfully captured.
Hello Terri. Blessings to you and your family. I’m going to be getting some of the books you shared with us today. I too have a library scattered around my home. My granddaughters love looking at all my books! So these that you talked about will be a lovely addition. My youngest granddaughter spotted a fairy ring at her recess in school one day. She warned the other children to not disturb that area and taught them the reason. I was so proud of her. Both of the girls love learning about our Irish history and the stories, lore and traditions. Have a wonderful week🦋💜
Heldegard of Bingin ,a Rhineland Catholic mystic of the 12th century, has been called an ideal model of the liberated woman. She was a poet and scientist, painter and musician, playwright, prophet, preacher, social critic, abbess and healer/herbalist . She was a brilliant woman. I have CDs on her music. Absolutist beautiful. I recommend you buy a book on her.
Ahh Terri...this is wonderful as books are my soul's delight. We have some of the same books. I don't know why that should gladden my heart so - but it does. Thank you muchly.💗🌸
Terri, your videos are such a treat, it is always a pleasure to have your wonderful voice with me while I go through my Sunday routine. Thank you for the book recommendations, some of them I already have but some I have added to my wishlist:) Thank you for your amazing work, have a lovely week
Calm down Blue Sky - my knowledge is not vast! I wish it was. So much still to learn. I appreciate your comment though and I hope you get to enjoy some of the books I have mentioned. xxxx
Thanks Terri. Reading brings me hours of pleasure. You are never alone when you have a good book especially on a cold snowy day in Canada! See you next week
@@DanusIrishHerbGardenIf interested, I highly recommend Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Potawatomi botanist Robin Wall Kimmerer. There are so many universal, timeless perspectives woven throughout this book.
We in the Swinford Writers/ poetry group for the next meet up Wednesday 15th February, 2-3 pm Swinford Library. The themes will be fairies, angel's spirit, mythology. In this very dark thermonuclear danger time, let's all call upon the spirits to support us. Clairvoyant well done.
It's early spring here. I can feel it. Some birds have never left despite the hard freezes, such as a few robins and mountain bluebirds. I'm reading these days, too, in the lovely south-window sunshine.
Oh terri, thankyou, I just love love your videos, oh my yes how massive ly comforting to be surrounded by delicious, simply lovely useful books.i feel so completely content after watching your videos. @@DanusIrishHerbGarden thats lovely, your chickens. Oh yep im been trying to be able to send you an email, still not worked that out,I shall keep trying through the day, when I can, dear me im bit slow to learn 🙂 😊.
Thanks for this. I've come back to Dickens, aged 70. What a writer he was. The characterisation, landscape depiction, his ability with the English Language is second to none. I've returned to classic books, going through them as I think of them: Crime and Punishment, To Kill a Mocking Bird, the Count of Monte Cristo and so on. I will take your recommendation of Wilkie Collins book. I'd completely forgotten about about him and I will read the Book of Kells. I grew up in the 50s knowing every wild plant that surrounded me, I had the little 'Observers Book of Wild Flowers' then and I still love those books. So I can feel a little of what you felt as a child about books and of course about flowers
I agree re Charles Dickens - what a genius! To Kill a Mocking Bird is a classic, a must read. But so many books are. how lucky you were as a child to have such a book xx
I too am reading/rereading the classics. I’ve recently discovered Arnold Bennett here on UA-cam. I’ve listened to four of his works so far, while I’m knitting or crocheting. His books are all set in Staffordshire, his characters are fabulous.
I plan to read Crime and Punishment soon, but started reading the classics recently with another Dostoyevsky, The Brothers Karamazov. If you do get to that one, it's quite entertaining! Can't recommend it highly enough.
I'm enjoying a cup of Rosemary, Sage and Thyme tea while watching your video. Yes, there's something special about having a book to read, especially on a cold and dark winter's evening. I'd ordered Rosemary Gladstar's book 'Medicinal Herbs' and it arrived last week. So now I have a new book to enjoy. I appreciate you having the list of the books you talked about. Your videos are a great way to start my Sundays!
The last time I was in Dublin, I stopped by Trinity College to see the Book of Kells. It was a moving experience. So ancient and fragile. There was a bit too much Christianity for me, but I did admire the beauty of the art and calligraphy. I will have to check out MacEvoy's The Book of Kells. It seems to have more Celtic roots. Love your book choices Terri! ❤❤
I have yet to see the original Dwayne, even though I have been to Trinity. The novel has Celtic christianity in it and paganism and magic and time travel - pure pleasure. xx
Wonderful...Thank You Terri For inviting us into your Beautiful Lounge....I Love Books & The 'Irish Wild Plants' is on my Wish List. Such an interesting selection of Books 💚📚🤗
When I first started working with herbs in the 70's I bought that book and it really was wonderful. Somewhere along the way it disappeared and later versions were not as broad in their scope. I haven't see any of the recent versions in many years. Thank you.
Good Morning Terri…love your book selection…thank you for sharing…just watched Eddie Lenihan on you tube by your suggestion…what a lovely soul …will watch more…we look forward to your Sunday videos…have a great day!!!
Thank you Terri. Over the years I accumulated quite a collection of books on herbs, healing and folklore but kept lending them to friends. Needless to say, I have very few left, since no one returns borrowed books. The two books of Robin Wall Kimmerer are my new top favourites, Gathering Moss and Braiding Sweet Grass. Really enjoying them. Also Entangled Life by Merlin Sheldrake.
I've read Braiding Sweetgrass too and it is such a beautiful book. I'm a fan of Rupert Sheldrake and didn't know his son wrote too. Is he carrying on the baton?
I love Braiding Sweetgrass and thanks for reminding me about Gathering Moss - I will order that tomorrow. Merlin Sheldrake is very interesting too xx You will have to chase up your friends and get your books back! xxx

I love book's and I have several herb book's and gardening book's. I feel sorry for the younger generation they only know their e book's . Thank you for sharing your library with us 📚🙌❤
Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful and varied titles! I can’t wait to check them out. Our community in Toronto has “Little Libraries” that people put up on their front yards. Charming book containers (think big, covered bird feeders) housing gently used books, that people can take and share. When you need to edit and clean out your personal library, it’s a great place to offer someone a “new” read! Always a different set of books each week, as people drop off books of their own that they have finished reading. Have a great week!
Oh Joy, that sounds like a really lovely idea. I must suggest that to friends and neighbours. One of my students found a book in a public phone box in the UK and sent it on to me after she had read it. She said this is a "thing" over there - that people leave books in public places for others to read. Such lovely sharing ideas xx
I just can't bear to part with any books! I'm a hoarder and I know it's not very generous of me but letting go of books feels like amputating parts of my being. Even if I never open a particular book in my collection again, if I've read it, it's gotta stay!
Thank you Terri! I have many books, some read many times and some yet to be read. I have a few of those on your list already. I will be picking up Witch Light for a retreat coming up. Sounds like a great book to free the spirit.
Thanks for this one. I really enjoyed it. I'm a book lover as well with quite a few herbal and herbal medicine books on my stuffed shelves. I do have a number of the books you have as well. Back on December 6th, 1986 the 100 year old cabin I was living in burned to the ground so I lost all my belongings, my two dear dogs, musical instruments and about 250 books. It took me years and years to come to terms with that tragedy. Still I am paranoid about fire and burning down. Heating this cabin with wood, my heat source, I am always leery, trying to be super careful about the woodstove and stove pipe chimney which I clean out habitually. When I was a shepherd, with my goat herd and horses, I spent a tremendous amount of time 'living' outside, shepherding my goats, with my dog, up the mountain, through the forest and nearby meadows. Prior to that long period, shepherding, I was an active outdoorsman. With all of that outdoor living I felt like I really connected with nature. I did learn so much over all those years, about plants, herbs, trees, birds, animals, insects, etc. Back in the 1970's, the real beginning of my 'herbal education' I read quite a few books on plants, biology and nature. Strangely, or maybe not so strangely, I always read that things like lichen and mushrooms had no medicinal value (those books were written by western authors, supposedly educated on the subject). Now I've learned, from reading many other herbal medicine books, watching herbal medicine videos here on you tube, etc. that there is definitely medicine in quite a few lichens and mushrooms. Funny thing, a bunch of that knowledge has been rediscovered (if I can put it that way) from rather ancient sources, such as native people in Siberia and here in North America. As we know now there are particular mushrooms and lichens that have anti-cancer applications as well as treating a lot of other illness, bodily complaints and imbalances. I'm one of those 'practitioners' that use cider vinegar along with cayenne pepper mixed with pure water (I boil and filter all my water as my water source is a mountain stream that flows nearby) as a morning drink. I know the benefits of cider vinegar and cayenne as it does me a lot of good. I don't use that mixture continually, just like I don't use my homemade tinctures, herbal medicine teas (from roots and plant parts) for extended periods. I do use herbal medicine all year round though, switching up my mixtures regularly (from week to week). I'm always wanting to learn more about herbal medicine and I'm so grateful to people such as yourself for sharing your knowledge on the subject. Here we are still in the grip of winter, although it has been a rather mild one this year for the most part. I'm hoping that by St. Patrick's Day spring will be arriving here in this mountain valley but one never knows how it will go. Last year we had so much late snow in February and March, spring was very late. I can hardly wait to get back in the garden again as gardening is one of my passions. Thanks again for your great videos and for sharing all your wonderful books and knowledge. Cheers from British Columbia, Canada!
I am so sorry to hear of that tragedy - I think you referred to it once before. Deeply traumatic and not surprised it has left you leery of fire. I have some Birch polymore mushroom tincturing away here and some Chaga yet to work with. I find them very beneficial. I agree that it is best not to self medicate continually but to also keep checking in with yourself to use the plants you need when you need them and for maintenance. Your life sounds so fascinating, I envy you your past life living out on the mountains and I am challenging myself to work up to doing more living and sleeping on the land here. I would love to see a picture of your cabin and your valley. Do you have any pictures on line on your blog? In the meantime, stay warm and plan your garden xx
Growing up in a dysfunctional family I would loose myself in the world of books. I yearned to be some of the characters I read about and could easily be transformed to another place. As an adult I’m still an avid reader and am thrilled when I see my grandchildren enamored with books. Blessings.
Ha, thanks so much Terri. I had asked last during last week's video about what sort of books you would recommend. 🙂 What a fantastic selection. Wilkie Collins and witch light sound fascinating. Thank you, thank you. Have a brilliant week.

Thanks Mary I look forward to that. It is amazing to me, and to you probably, that people can say such a thing!. My ex brother in law was once heard to boast that he DIDN'T have any books in his house! Can you believe it?????

Oh, this was wonderful! You gave me some great additions to my books wish list! I too have loads of books all over the house and read every day. I tried those Kindle electronic readers years ago but hated it! I want a real book in my hands and on my shelf where I can refer to it! My son is in Dublin for work this week and just sending me photos - wish I could be there. It has been 40 years since I was last there. Amazing how things have changed. Many blessings from very cold and snowy Vermont.
Blessings from a mild and green Connemara. Ireland has changed immensely in the last 40 years, and not all for the best. i agree, best thing is a book in the hand. xx

Thank you for all your wonderful recommendations. I especially loved scanning the titles edited in around the 8:25 min mark. Loved the big black and white one that showed up in the stack with "The Trials of Koli" and "Book of Humorous Quotations." Knowing that one publication is in your household library made my whole day. Bless both you and Lol for these empowering and beautiful videos.
I so enjoyed your wonderful video today. I feel exactly as you do about books - our house us full of them - and if anyone wants to know what I want as a present, a book token is the answer! I am not interested is owning a lot of "stuff" but get very excited by new books. I will certainly explore some of the books you referred to, particularly those about herbs. Your home looks so cosy - you are surrounded by books, blankets and a wood-burnimg stove - heaven on a rather chilly February day ❤
Thank you for sharing your favorites. I read To Kill a Mockingbird every summer when school gets out. My second favorite is The Dark is Rising series. I've read that probably 5 times. There's something comforting about being able to go back to those characters you love and learning new things about them every time you reread the books:)
The Dark is Rising - children's novels by Susan someone? I absolutely love it. So magical so otherworldly. What is her surname? Love re reading favourites. xx

LOVED this! …just what I needed this Sunday ~ I , too, love a welcoming large pile of books just waiting to be enjoyed. I ordered some of these just now. Thank you so much.
I love books. The smell and tactile sensations (especially old books) brings me much joy and comfort. Unfortunately, I am legally blind and so now to read I use a pdf of books so that I can enlarge them so I can read them but I still buy books for my library.
Wonderful books! Thanks for sharing. My shopping list just grew quite a bit. Lots of snow is still on the ground here; one of the snowiest January's in a long time. Glad our well and aquafer will be filled come the thaw. March is typically our snowiest month however. Starting to plan this years projects and reading, reading, reading. Blessed be.
My daughter and myself continue to love books. There's something about the feel and smell of them while reading. Thank you for sharing some of your favorites. The feral girl one peaked my interest.
Same here. I still remember the smell of the old pulp children's books from when I was a kid. The smell made you KNOW that you were about to be transported. xx
Very interesting; I love the green in your Living Room. Your home looks wonderful. I think books will make a come-back after all the internet hype. eBooks just don't seem to have the same feeling do they. Kx
I just was wondering🤔 what part of England did you live,.?its been a beautiful sunshine, dry day here today, very chilly i feel s as though Jack frost will visit tonight with his friends 😀 .it is so very pretty,.I remember that during the time when we had books as a child we then had to pass them to mum once read so that we could pass them on to other children, I thought that was perhaps why I like to cling on to mine as an adult, I do love to check our charity shop s too as much as I can when I get into our small town, its so exciting there too to get good finds and help the charity s too at the same time. Having hard copies at home seems more and more important as the information provided by technology becomes less trustworthy and accessible. Between the paywalls and the ai generated fakes and slop, I hope the bookstores and libraries will become a trusted sanctuary for the community again. I am young and feel a deep sort of dread about the future of society and the planet. But it’s never too late to correct course! In my town, many houses and churches have “little free library ” boxes built on their lawns for anyone to browse or donate to. My new hobby is collecting good books from the recycling center in town and distributing them around town. I love to think of kids coming by and finding a new favorite- I was an absolute feral bookworm of a little girl and looking back on it I’m so happy I had that childhood instead of phone based experience. Will be keeping an eye out for the herb book! I love your channel- I see the life I hope to create for myself one day reflected here ❤
You are a kindred spirit, I too was a feral bookworm. I would walk back from the library reading and have the book finished en route, having to go back the next day😂 You are right - we must be very discerning about which books we buy as many these days are being generated by AI so best to check the author's name and make sure they actually work in their particular field and are a real person. You are doing great work for your town and I see similar things happening here. Unfortunately our local library is just a pick up point nowadays😓 xx
My husband and I owned a used book store in California for several years and it was a joy to go to work every single day, not to mention the customers were all lovely book reading kindred spirits! Thank you for the book suggestions, I will be looking these up xxx

Thank you for sharing. I always told my two daughters when they were young you can never read enough. I totally agree with you how a book brings emotions, I still have my book from childhood of The Lion The Witch and the wardrobe. How that fusty old book brings up so many lovely memories of my mum and dad and older brother reading it to me. I actually bring it out of the bookcase now and then to smell the fust. All the older generation telling their yarns, and how alot of them heard or seen fairies. I loved the first books of the Narnia series but the author that really got me hooked as a child was Alan Garner with The Wierdstone Of Brisingamen. I think it's because he based his fantasy on the old folk tales of his region of northern England.

Thank you Faith. Yes- Lol puts a lot of thought into the scenic views he includes. Enjoy your books xx
Tell her we are proud of her too - well done to her! Thanks Susan I think I will have a great week xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Yes I will tell her🦋💜
Possibly the best show title ever!😃
Like the title of your channel - very intriguing!! xx
A truly inspiring woman! How did she do it???? Her music is spellbinding. I have a couple of books by/about her and would recommend like you xx
Ahh Terri...this is wonderful as books are my soul's delight. We have some of the same books. I don't know why that should gladden my heart so - but it does. Thank you muchly.💗🌸
It gladdens my heart - another connection made!💚
I've had Back To Eden for several decades. It's one of my favorite books ever! Loved the rest of your recommended books as well. Thank you Terri!
It is a good one, says it all. Hope you like the others too. xx
Terri, your videos are such a treat, it is always a pleasure to have your wonderful voice with me while I go through my Sunday routine. Thank you for the book recommendations, some of them I already have but some I have added to my wishlist:)
Thank you for your amazing work, have a lovely week
A lovely week to you too Giulia. Glad to hear you already have some of the books, hope the others come to you xx
Your wealth of knowledge is vast. I appreciate all the Teachings. 🕯
The books you recommend sound and look lovely. 📖
So true Sandra xx and keep warm there in Canada xx
Meeting the Other Crowd is definitely one of my favorites. I turn to it again and again.
One of mine too xx
I think we need to call on them. You are so near yet so far, other wise I would come to your meet up xx
Sending high energy love from Geordieland. 💜🙏💜
It's early spring here. I can feel it. Some birds have never left despite the hard freezes, such as a few robins and mountain bluebirds. I'm reading these days, too, in the lovely south-window sunshine.

I have that book and highly recommend it too xx Enjoy xx
A lovely comfy sofa to sit and relax with a good book, the environment in your room very conducive to relaxation. Love the cushions too
We don't use that room enough so it is nice to take the odd day and relax. xx
Glad you liked it Sally. Niall Mac Coitir also has books about Trees and Animals. Very interesting folk lore in them xx
Thank you Terri. I love when you make these book videos! Quite fun. Great new ideas!!
I love books and I love recommendations. I love to look at other people's books so thought it would be good to share. Glad you got some ideas xx
When I first started working with herbs in the 70's I bought that book and it really was wonderful. Somewhere along the way it disappeared and later versions were not as broad in their scope. I haven't see any of the recent versions in many years. Thank you.
The Rodale Book?? There are versions today or at least they are still printing books but not sure of their content. xx

Glad to hear that. He is a lovely soul! Fascinating stories! xx
Merlin Sheldrake is very interesting too xx You will have to chase up your friends and get your books back! xxx

Not a problem, glad to share. E-books just don't cut it xx
Books are friends. HATE ebooks!! My home is filled with books, plants and pictures. Really enjoyed this video. Thank you.
Books everywhere - it is a good sign when you go into someone's house xx
Your videos just keep getting better. I loved all the books! I ordered Witch Light and Vinegar, and can hardly wait to read them.
Thanks so much - hope your books arrive soon xx
Thank you Terri! I have many books, some read many times and some yet to be read. I have a few of those on your list already. I will be picking up Witch Light for a retreat coming up. Sounds like a great book to free the spirit.
It certainly makes you realise how far from nature we live, how we have forgotten to immerse ourselves in nature. Thought provoking for sure. xx
I love all the GREEN around your house!!!!💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Me too - there is quite a lot of it😃 xx
Growing up in a dysfunctional family I would loose myself in the world of books. I yearned to be some of the characters I read about and could easily be transformed to another place. As an adult I’m still an avid reader and am thrilled when I see my grandchildren enamored with books. Blessings.
Books offer an escape route into other worlds, other realms as well as educating and inspiring us. Blessings to you and grandchildren. xx

Hi Terri thanks for information on your books. I also love reading so always good to find out about good ones. Enjoy the week ahead Love to you xxx

Thank you Terri that’s another two books you’ve recommended I’ve now ordered 😍 the vinegar book and the witch book
Love your recommendations xx I bought one last time when you did a similar feature
Like you I love my books like you say your never lonely with a book xxx much love to you
Love to you too Mary and thanks for watching. So glad you enjoyed the recommendations. xx
I giggled when I saw this video with you surrounded by books, herbal tea, and showing all your filled bookshelves. You are a total Virgo! I would know (fellow Virgo here) because as I watched, I had my herbal tea, a stack of books (witches, fairies, food and gardening) as my filled bookshelves are behind me. My daughter was laughing saying, are you two related??? Lol…I’m pretty sure I’m going to look into some of the books you have, after all, one can never have too many! 😆 Wishing you a lovely week, Terry! ♥️
Hello lost sister!😂 Well what other books would you read??😂 xx
Lovely video! As a librarian, herbalist, and lover of faeries, this warmed my heart. I read Witch Light under its alternate title, Highland Witch. Truly enjoyed the story of Corag. Thank you for sharing some of your collection with us. I'll look for some of these to supplement my library.
I enjoyed it very much and appreciated the historical notes at the end. xxx
Oh I loved the highland witch too!!!!
Thank you for the lovely book recommendations 😊
You're welcome xx
Thank you ...
You're welcome! xx
Thank you Terri, I too have loved books for as long as I can remember. One of my favorite memories as a child was going to the public library on a Saturday to choose 4 new books, I was just over the moon all day. I think I will have to find myself a copy of Witch Light. Thank you for sharing.☘
Wasn't it so exciting! I remember going after school when I was about 8 and reading one of the books on the walk home. That meant I had to go again the next day to get more books😂 xx
Thank you so much for your advice on apple cider viniger, I'm taking it every day with water.
You are welcome! Every day with water, add honey or lemon or not. An excellent start to the day. xx
C.S.Lewis was born just 30 miles from me in Belfast. I love books of myths and the fairies etc. Colettes book Walking Between Worlds is a great read too. X
I love Colette's books too and C.S Lewis made a HUGE impression on me. I loved all the Narnia books. Much better than anything around today. xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden totally agree with you, the books my grandson gets from his school library just don't seem to have that magical soul what our childhood books had. I love all the chronicles of Narnia too, I even love all my Harry Potter collection too lol. I also love the great wee books my Rural neighbourhood Watch put together. All the older generation telling their yarns, and how alot of them heard or seen fairies. I live in quite a remote part of the countryside and love walking the fields and thinking, I wonder am I being watched by our fairy folk xx
I loved the first books of the Narnia series but the author that really got me hooked as a child was Alan Garner with The Wierdstone Of Brisingamen. I think it's because he based his fantasy on the old folk tales of his region of northern England.
