I'm 32 and haven't had a 4-wheeler since I was about 15.... my first one was a yellow 400ex. After seeing these new setups, holy shit how the game has changed!
I have same set up on mine but rvs stage 2 tune rvs clutch kit and the jay parts primary clutch cover. Would like to see where I'm at with all that on it. Nice review and vid.
Aftermarket clutches will definitely improve the power transfer to the wheels. My stock can am outlander 650 was making 46hp at the wheels, with a tune and exhaust, we were getting 49.6 whp. After installing aftermarket CVTech primary calibrated for full shift out @8050rpm with 26” tires, Dalton yellow/blk secondary spring we were seeing nearly 52whp. So a 6whp gain over stock @8000rpm which is what a stock can am outlander 850 makes at the wheels. My tuned outlander 650 has the rev limit set to 8700rpm. Could only imagine what this scrambler 1000 is capable of making.
Thanks for the insight! I was hoping a clutch kit would've been sent too.. I want to say they advertise a 10-12 overal hp gain with a kit included. My main goal was to get some better sound out of it and that new APX exhaust doesn't disappoint 😬
@@PeteHager the new RJWC duals sounds incredible. As for clutch kit, it will definitely help down low. It did help on my outlander but once I got an aftermarket primary, it was a night and day difference 👍
Yeah I love canam for gncc racing. The baller on a budget secret sauce for an 850 outlander is Tune, EPI silver primary spring, and put the smaller sized 26" tires on all 4 corners.
Ayyee!! I just so happened to get a little sound clip of it on your Instagram and man does it sound good! I've been so busy I didn't even know you had purchased a 4x4! Smh Sweeet! I hope it's been good to ya! I'll be back to watch this full Video but had to swing thru and smash the like button in advance! 💯💪
Just watched the entire video! Absolutely cool of them to send you so many parts! How long of a drive is the shop from you!? And wow, crazy how much hp is lost from the motor to the wheels but, watching you ride it still rips and man does it sound good! This Polaris has got to be the sporties looking 4x4 I've ever seen! I love its look better than a can am! Great video as always Pete!
Thanks for all the comments Terrell! Glad you got to see this one! The drive to Jay's shop is about 6 hours for me. Then another 3 hours to the Badlands from there. It was nice to head south since we have too much snow to ride here! This quad has definitely grown on me. It's in it's on category. Going between it and the sport quads is like going from a mountain bike to a BMX bike lol 😂
How does the scrambler 850 compare to the 1000? Does the power steering make a big difference? Anyone have reliability issues with the scramblers? Thank you
Completely different machines to what they were 30 years ago! What’s the maximum speed as standard? And what’s the max sort of speed it’ll cruise at? Thanks🎉
What kind of camera set up do you use? There’s barely any wind noise at high rates of speed. I have a hero 10 with wind reduction on and you can barely hear my machine
I use hero7's for helmet cam in all my videos. I use a microphone called the Purple Panda that's mounted in my helmet. I have my gear linked in my video bios at the bottom. The Panda mic's have worked well for me. I get about a season out of one before they can get crackly and need to be replaced. The first 5 minutes of this video shares my current helmet cam set up ua-cam.com/video/kWbckb-7TQM/v-deo.html
Great vid Pete! Now sounds like a beast! And looks sweets tho! My RJWC Mud Edition on 570’ is completely fine after two years of riding so yours I’ll be fine tho 🙂
Hey Pete, I’m currently looking to find something fast, and reliable for riding this year what would you suggest would be the best four wheeler to get?
It was closer to 5 hp throughout the power range when you take into account the percentage lost through the belt drive system. I think that’s a pretty decent gain with slip ons and an air filter. If we had done a clutch kit it would’ve helped put more of that power to the ground 👍
that 89-90hp rating is engine crank power like you would test on an engine dyno. This is a to the wheels dyno. CVT with a belt loses a lot of power through the drive line. Head, cam, hi compression piston racing 450 atvs put down the same or more power to the ground as one of these stock. The 450's have chain drive setup and don't see near as much loss. Not comparing the 2 at all just the difference between chain drive and belt drive. The 450's would definitely lose vs a 1000 on the top end because of the short gearing on the 450 atvs.
@@JasonJohnson-bu4hs that’s my only Gripe with the cfmoto vtwins. I just haven’t heard a good sounding one yet. I have the 500 side by side and I’m looking to up add a 950 next year. But haven’t seen one UA-cam video that convinced me they sound good with an exhaust 🤷🏽♂️😂😂
@@JasonJohnson-bu4hs yeah the Renegade sound awesome the scrambler sounds great with an exhaust but I think the V-Twin versus the parallel twin the Renegade sounds way better that's just my opinion.
I’ve been a subscriber for over a year and I see that you and Mike Sabo love going to different ATV parks, so I think you guys should come to Georgia and visit Durhamtown off-road resort. It’s about 7500 acres of pure fun. I know it’s quite a drive for you guys, but I know you would love it. And please let your subscribers know if you make the trip.
We were told we can modify it if we return it to stock before bringing it back to Polaris. I was stoked when they said yes because these RJWC exhausts are pretty awesome 😬
@@PeteHager all of its worth watching man! I’ve been riding 23 out of my 30 years and your videos get me a fix for when I’m not able to go. My scrambler 400 was a monster, I couldn’t even imagine a 1k. With the loss of horsepower because of the belt, would you say it’s about the same level of performance as your Yamahas? I’ve only experienced 1 belt driven atv and I’m used to my foot shift chain drive Hondas. I’m torn between a raptor and a scrambler 1k.
Sounds freaking sick Pete! Can’t wait to see more content with all the quads now! Also, I’m going to badlands march 3rd/4th and staying in the villa cabins. Anything I should know? I also can’t find anything on if you need spark arrestors? I’m assuming not. Thanks Pete.
All you need is the flag and wristband to ride, no spark arrestors. I 100% recommend the cabins. It was so nice to cruise back to our place and not have to load up. Not all cabins have a full kitchen so if you're looking to cook I would make sure it has an oven, ours just had a microwave. Also, the local public wash in town worked great for cleaning when we left. They have a wash bay on site but it does require change and it doesn't seem to be open in the winter. Hopefully it's running when you're there because rinsing off the quads onsite is slick too 👍
@@PeteHager thanks for the info! 👍🏼 Im definitely looking forward to checking this place out finally! After my injury last year I wasn’t able to make it to your meet up. Hopefully you guys can all get together over this way again soon for another one.
I just dont think it will last. I think its going to eat itself for breakfast. And at 20k fixing NON warranty parts is going to get old really really fast. I highly doubt the warranty covers broken axles and trashed diffs... I dont have the confidence in Polaris. Yeah im a honda fan boy... I wish they would bring back the 400 and make it EFI..... brought mine home yesterday, what a beast!! i was rippin through 2 feet of snow around my house, shes still melting off in the garage now, lol!!
If I was on the trail and heard that coming I'd swear fricking Grave Digger was coming down the trail!
I think clutching would be a good investment in getting what power you have to the ground better. That's a sick ride.
I was hoping there would’ve been a clutch kit in the box as well. Maybe next time 😁
@@PeteHager I have to agree a I think you would be thoroughly impressed with a clutch kit in that machine

So you order only the muffler
I NEED one of these… and a Raptor of course…

Should do no quiet core and arrestor style setup vs. Spark aresstor and insert diffrence.
