I'm a T1 fan and I think that was a fair assessment of T1 this MSI. It was pretty clear Faker's not at 100% and the laneswap meta was unfavorable to their playstyle.
That said, I'm hopeful that T1 figure out the laneswap meta and come back stronger in Summer and at Worlds.

I honestly love the video idea Dom i feel like its great! U do expectations before a split anyway with the top4 region so u can easily make this list at the end of the splits as well.
Its short, clear and contains the relevant information. My only recommandation would be that if u plan to use this video later then in ur tierlist make sure u use the same grading system so its easier to reference it b both to urself and to the audience, but rly its just a minor thing so not that important

I think you should do more of this style of video, ranking teams, or at least talking about them, at the begining of splits/play offs/international events, then doing retrospectives at the end, what teams over/under performed, and how/why.

Great video. Lane swaps really hurt BLG this tournament but we didn't see the full brunt of it til they went up against genG, also Peyz played a lot better than he had been domestically. Also BIN is absolutely a GOATED toplaner, most fun toplaner to watch in the world.

Very good content! Although I feel like G2 maybe are in the A-/B+ range after the second loss to T1, a team they had taken games off of before and were expected to go the distance with again. TES series was a banger tho and I've watched 3 co-streams of it lol, let's see if they can bust out a run at worlds!

As a huge T1 stan i completely agree with your take on T1 and especially on Faker. This past split was prob one of his best splits and this MSI he legit played like he had 1 arm.
although i would say he focused a bit too much on Faker. As a fellow T1 fan i agree that's not rly the ,,Faker'' performance we all love, but Zeus this year did not rly show much, lots of getting solo killed or just straigth up inting. He showed some better performance later on, but rly getting solo killed vs estral is not something you could call OK performance vs minor region. Guma performed okay as always, but the rest did not rly show that much

glad i'm not the only one who noticed how shaky BLG looked in this tournament, they had 1 good series which was the first against T1, other than that it was pretty lacking, i worry the same will happen next Worlds just like it did last year where at times they looked even more dominant than JDG and still didn't play as well as they could at Worlds, idk if this team is mentally built to win international titles, but i sure hope they take this experience and build up poise to win Worlds

I agree that criticism of Knight was over the top. Unlike some other members of BLG he didn't really underperform. He's just not that guy.
The main reason he got so much criticism is bc LPL/Knight fans constantly force the comparison to Chovy.
He ain't Chovy. He isn't tanking 5 mid bans to then pull out a champ with a 16 game win streak. He also isn't carrying his team when his entire team is underperforming.
As Dom said, his best picks are Ahri, Taliyah, Neeko. Those are facilitating champs - aka _supportive_ champs.
Comparing a good supportive player whose job is to facilitate the actual super stars on his team to the best player in the world is the most ridiculous narrative I can remember in recent pro league.
I had a good chuckle when production changed the Featured Match Up between GenG and BLG from "Chovy vs Knight" to "Chovy vs Bin" in the Grand Finals. What else did you expect, Knight fans?

Great video, and a fun idea to hand out report cards! But I must say the camera quality is still lacking.. and there's this weird edge trimming which looks AI to me.
Very nice video and I completely agree with what you said about Faker. He is probably my favorite player but his performance at this MSI was atrocious. I sincerely hope it's not due to a health issue and we'll see him back to his standard very soon.

This style is top tier already but I'd love to see you do this with someone else. Compare your two report cards so to speak, challenge each other's points that you might not agree with, all that. I hope we see more of this in the future and it seems many do too. Cheers
I'll be the first person to criticise Dom for being LPL biased, but this felt really fair.
Over all, I hope we see more analysts take interregional strength more seriously come pre-worlds analysis, rather than just assuming. I just think GenG and BLG played at their level, or maybe even both played worse, and a lot points to that being true. The only thing somewhat holding the LCK = LPL in spring narrative together is GenG beating their choking DNA in a 5 game series that they could very feasibly have 3-0'd if they played calmer in game 3.

Really fair ratings. I’m a FNC fan and totally agree on the rating. I’m in the camp of being impressed about their play vs GenG simply because I expected a systematic beat down where FNC didn’t do anything, but that doesn’t matter when they lose 3-0 vs TL and frankly play far below their potential against a beatable NA team
I really like the idea of a grading system but I'm kind of confused by the rules of it. If a team performed exactly as their expectation then how is that a bad grade?

I agree with most of this list and if TL managed to win games 1 or 2 vs T1 I definitely would give them an A or A-. Umpti definitely shit the bed and let the nerves get the better of him but APA was surprisingly effective both as a serviceable midlaner and as someone who consistently drew multiple bans from teams. Its clear that he improved enough on other champs that he can use them competitively.
But good god damn. If yeon can keep up with his MSI form or potentially get even better? There may be hope for NA talent yet. He looked great this tournament and i couldnt be prouder of him as an NA fan and resident.
Plus NA beat an eu in a bo5. Which is always good.
Hopefully flyquest can bounce back cuz they dont have terrible pieces, altho busio needs to probably lay off engage supps cuz he doesnt know when its not a good idea to engage. XDD...but. still.
And g2...they definitely shored up some key weaknesses but is very clear theyre still not quiiite at that top tier calibre yet. But they can compete which means they can get better. Or fall off completely. Time will tell
