      I don't see anyone seething.
      Lots of players have already achieved similar progress or better before Tyler1 did it. Remember that 1900 is still far below master, and chess improvement is easy at the amateur level. It's at the master and grandmaster levels where progress up the ranks starts to get hard. The same is true of many games, such as go/weiqi/baduk, shogi, bridge, etc.

    It is fascinating to me how Levy uses the EXACT same language SkillCapped used, when they described his meteoric rise to Challenger in League back when he was on Ivern duty. He's a patient observer and he's commited. He favors having a bad plan over executing anything without one at all and he's a strong advocate for synergy and team play, even tho it might not seem like that at a first glance.

      I'd argue that it's more like a crouch cancel falcon who does a lot of down throw tech chases.
      Fast, methodical and arguably a little boring. But that fundamental playstyle provides a lot of openings to mix up your plays.

    thats what makes him and other streamers so strong in league. its the attitude towards losing. the highest league player is not the one who performs best, when he is winning. its the one who can handle defeat the best.
    in summary - i would say - its the losetolerance which makes a great league player. not his ability and knowledge of the game. the shier willpower of overcoming - incompetent teammates and inting. ofcourse it helps to have a good micro, understanding of the items etc. but thats everyone can learn. handling to lose, on a regular basis, with the full knowledge you did nothing wrong and still lost - and just hit the play again button - is what seperates these people from us average jonnies.

      He won't become GM for sure,literally anybody can do from 0 to 2000 in a yr but becoming a grandmaster is different ball game,that's why levy never become GM for that reason despite spending his entire life in chess.

      To me the players I meet that play like trash in the opening are the scariest to me. Because if they are similar rating to me, but I play real openings and they don't, that means they are making up the difference somewhere. So they're probably a tactical monster, have really strong positional play, are good at endgames, etc. In Tylers case, he likely has very strong tactical play because you know, HE'S PLAYED OVER 20K PUZZLES IN A YEAR OH MY GOD.

      Imho, the meme opening is key to his success, in contrast to what you are implying. Pretty much no one knows cow theory, and I doubt many players have seen it enough in games to know how to deal with it. Couple that with a time format where the opponent doesn't get time to properly think and you have a serious advantage.

    It's even more impressive when you realize Tyler1 is not just 1960 in chess, he is also a challenger in league of legends , and even better than just being a challenger ( the best rank in the game ), he reached challenger with any position in the game. Challenger just playing toplane, challenger just playing jungle, challenger just playing midlane , etc. he's a fucking genius in any game he touches .
