Just fought and defeated Primordial Malzeno, his attacks seemed slow but also fast at the same time. The attacks were so meaty, and my god the qurio attacks were so badass
First time fighting him was amazingly painful...in all aspects. He wasn't too hard in the beginning, but when he enters his final phase oh yes, pure terror, seeing him go ultra instinct nonstop and endless dragon rage. I got carted just once during the ultra attack, but it was bliss. His final phase DAMN, is terrifying and beautiful, I enjoyed every moment of it. Also...THE ENDING CUTSCENE is chef's kiss, Primordial Mal thanking you and Fiorayne fighting off the qurio and flying away majestically. I had to rewatch that cutscene over again, its so good.
Kind of crazy I started playing rise in middle school and now I’m 3 days away from the end of my sophomore year witnessing it’s end, crazy way to send off the school year
My first impression of him was "OH FUCK" as he wombo combod me to death frame 1. I actually felt the need to abandon and restart fresh for how thoroughly he blended my bones.
I actually managed to repel him cartless on my first attempt and carted once to the hazard version. It was awesome! I love Sunbreak and my boy Malzeno and so dearly hope he makes a return at some point.
The thing people didn’t like about fatalis was the timer, AT velk was the anti-mantle/anti tenderize moves, and here I think people will dislike the pinning attacks. All 3 are kinda valid because they are core gameplay changes only made to specific monsters for added difficulty, but they are also all kind of skill issues.
If anything it's his wing stabs and sweepers that are more concerning than his pins. Unless by pin you mean the aftereffects of getting hit by said moves, than I agree.
@@kinderx16_38 Ah, ok. I don't mind that his atttacks will pin (still annoying and not needed), but it's his wide sweepers and long range tail swipes/thrusts that seem to throw a lot of people off balance -myself included. I went and used evade window three on my dragon HH set-up just to specifically get around his shenanigans. Randoms however... cart galore.
Oh boy what a fight, I've just finished farming for the rare drop. First hunt I did with insect glaive and laughed at the qurio passing right below me. Next with dual blades and he carted me with a combo so fast that I'm still trying to understand. I loved the ending and the plot twist
I’m happy to get the chance to finally upgrade my Immortal vampire build when hunting afflicted monster ! I have 2 builds, one for regular hunts with poison buildup and the bloodlust one for afflicted !
Loved the return of “feast of the qurio” as the out of combat BGM, at least I thought that’s what I heard. I had the same horrified “somethings wrong” feeling I got with lunagaron.
I'm more excited for the weapons than the armor set, having finally beaten it. I already made and maxed out the LBG - it's basically a better Vigil Kugel that just needs a little help in the reload speed and deviation department. The Switch Axe, meanwhile, might be able to topple the Death Stench one as the king of Dragon damage by virtue of its massive slot-age. Edit: So I maxed out the Silver Slasher with the usual optimal elemental SA augments of Attack LV1 and Element LV8, as is the Calamitous Axe. Calamitous Axe has ~12.5 more Dragon damage over the Silver Slasher (12 base, 13 with Dragon Attack 5) and ~10.5 more raw (10 with no Attack Boost, 11 with Attack Boost 7), but the Slasher has natural purple, while maxed out Calamitous Axe needs a rank in Handicraft to reach purple itself. The Slasher's 4-4-4 slots allows it to have jewels like Chain Jewel+ 4, Element Exploit Jewel+ 4, and even some skills like Power Prolonger that you wouldn't otherwise be able to fit on the build with the Calamitous Axe. Overall, it's very, VERY close.
By adjusting my my death stench swax build i got all elem resistance lvl 3s on the set and added Blood right 2 deco just cause i didnt particularly know what else to add atm. Im fairly confident that all element focused weapons (and gunlance given innate normal lv 8 shelling) will use the primordial weapons. LS, SnS, Lance, GS, and glaive probably wont care as much given these weapons often like to just run a single raw build.
@@emanueleorlando265 I think Primordial's might be better in many situations. It all depends on what you're willing to sacrifice. It doesn't have the negative affinity problem before overcoming the Frenzy, but you still need Steadiness 2 to run Temper, and Tune Up 1 + Reload Speed 3 to get to Fast reload. But it can run Daora Soul Jewel 3 without sacrificing Anomaly slots. It also has moving reload on Pierce 3, which is nice. Unfortunately, we will almost certainly never get Reload Jewel+ or Recoil Jewel+, so the 1-slots on the Chaotic Gore one help it a bit.
@@JanusHoW I see...uhm...but mine is a bloodlust build,for this I thought that the caotic's one was better...but that 3 4 slots on the Primordial...that's crazy
@@emanueleorlando265 Bloodlust is great on just about every build. It's incredibly useful for getting to 100% affinity without Weakness Exploit, especially for Pierce. Remember that Pierce goes through a monster, and it's crit rate will be reduced when it's not hitting weak spots. But if you run, say, Maximum Might, you can crit on all of your hits rather than just the ones that hit weak points. For example: Crit Eye 7 (+40%) + Daora Soul (+15% after 5 hits) + Maximum Might 3 (+30% after a few secs at full stamina) + Bloodlust 1 (+20% when overcoming the virus) = 105%
Maybe I read the skill wrong, but I was under the impression that the attack boost granted after healing would scale with the amount that you heal in a single hit. Meaning that with like a full heal from great sword, the buff would be extremely sizable.
And here's me just catching up on the last 2.5 or so title updates. Risebreak has been a hell of a journey. Looks like i have a new hunting horn build to work towards.
I was kinda hoping the skill would give you bloodblight and interact with it in some way. Well, I got one of those things. Unfortunately it was the one that makes it more niche, so in the end, unless the dual blades offer high dragon, I only see myself hunting primordial once
I love lorewise they tell you Malzeno was a protector and then at the end....realized he was protecting the kingdom lol kinda silly the hunters forgot the quiro is the issue going on in the kingdom after so investigations
It's one of the few times where we realise that before we take him down for good... sure it makes the ending sort of anticlimactic but while we will kill dozens/hundreds of Primordial Malzeno to sate our lust for blood and monster parts; the specimen we spare will continue to protect the kingdom for decades/centuries to come!
I dont know if Im deaf or not, but I think you didnt mention how the extra health regen from the weapon could go really well with his new skill, as more regen means more attack boost.
Ohhh is it's supposed to be hard. Got cha, I was thinking I've become severely terrible at the game. Little Back story, after I've finished Ice born and took revenge on every single monster that carted me by farming it. I thought hey I'm pretty strong now. So I decided to buy sunbreak and attempt to finish the story without looking up anything. Rise was a breeze the Rampage was paranoia inducing since I thought that if monsters got through the first gate of the first area it means I lost but once I got through that it was nothing much. Now to sunbreak, the new monster move sets took some getting used to. I needed to adjust my play style and armor build since all the monsters have new moves that was not present in Iceborn. None the less I got through it and only got full wiped once because I got greedy while farming for armor sets. FF to the Amatsu battle man was that a pain in the ass to learn. It full wiped me 4 times before I decided that I needed better shit. So I adjusted my armor again. I gave up on all my attack boost and critical eye and went for a full defense armor. After weeks of grinding I've finally done it. I've never felt this happy since soloing Alatreon in Ice born. but it still felt lacking compared to the Fatalis fight. Low and behold there is another. I broke my promise to not look anything up since this fucker has been kicking my ass for 2 weeks now. And now I find out that it's supposed to be hard Fuck me. TLDR: Got my ass kicked by Knight boi for 2 weeks and Decided to cheat by looking up a tutorial.
I was over the moon when I saw that the Primordial Malzeno CB is element phial. I swapped my Valstrax CB for it immediately. The extra slots, better rampage slot, and purple sharpness more than make up for the slightly lower raw and element values. Plus it looks way cooler. Now if only we'd gotten a water element CB to replace the fish.
This dragon had me shivering in my boots the whole fight lucky I managed to beat it a second time but still it is by far the most intimidating fights I have ever been apart of so my hats of to malzano
I just got done with the fight and good lord was it a blast and half. I'm not sure if Primordial Malzeno surpasses my love for Ahtal-Ka, but gosh damn is it close. I did cart twice, but I managed to get through his final phase without carting. That final phase was oppressive as fuck, but I really enjoyed it. I don't know how I managed to get through his final phase without carting, but I'll take it. Heck, the carts I did have were mostly due to dumb mistakes. His attacks are glorious and tough to keep track of, his design is beautiful, and his struggle with the Qurio does make me feel bad for attacking him.
In totk i made the hover jet it has great terning and if you let go of it will go directly up and how to build it all you need is 2 fans and 1 steering stick now put the steering stick in the middle put the fan on the left and put the other one on right all of them
Okay, but like if Blood Awakening gives you bonus damage based on how much you heal via Blood Rite/Blight and P.Malz weapons increase the amount that Blood Rite/Blight heals... I mean it would depend on the damage boost you get, but hitting that much harder because you heal that much more could be fun, right? The other question is do you still get the damage boost if you're already at 100% health? Is the damage boost based on actual healing or potential?
The fact that this fight is already fairly difficult and they decided to add a hazard version makes me think that they heard everyone complaining about the base game difficulty and said “you want a challenge? Here you go.”
I've been waiting for this update to come out before I truly went for the completion grind. I will be looking forward to getting back into the game after my TotK holiday.
Bruh, just realized from the video, that It as two pin Animations, one where It goes Like normal Malzeno (sucking Blood, as Seen in the video) and the other I actually experienced myself: If It gets you, while not qurio corrupted, It impales you with its tail Spikes and slams you into the ground. God I love this Monster.
After fainting multiple times, I can say that this was a good fight. You're definately going to faint first time, if you go in blind. His moveset is powerful, but not unfair. There are patterns that will become recognizable, such as his thrust-sweep, or Wing-Bash then stab combo. However, one wrong step, and he'll combo you into oblivion. I'm going to try and build his armor, which means I'm going to have to play Insect Glaive to break the wings. I did my first run with SnS.
I can't even explain how fun the fight was. I only carted once but I was on the edge multiple times until I learned his move set. I want to mention a lot of things but it might spoil it to someone reading the comments so I'll save it for the Pro and Noob episode. I'll just say, I love that ending. We finally got something that hunters aren't known for but make sooo much sense and I've been waiting for that for so long. My only wish though is that, I wish we got health augment. I know we basically have that already but I meant similar to World/IB, not a skill. It's already the end anyway. They wouldn't have to worry about it being overpowered anymore. But yeah, I get why they didn't add it.
It really is an outstanding fight! So fun and well-paced, and full of interesting little touches. And the twist story-beat at the end is a high point of Monster Hunter story-telling.

*The fast beam attacks of Valstrax,*
*The map wide nuke attack of Gaismagorm,*
*The HP of Amatsu,*
and for added bonus he has the gatekeeping of good armor skillsets of Fatalis
This is the realest way to describe this man😭😭
@@trewilliams347 I fucking hate this bastard of a monster.
Ahh yes Shagaru Daora my favorite elder dragon
I'm so glad to hear about blood awakening, blood rite is a skill I always want and getting a boost off it is just perfection. Can't wait to see the peak performance part breaker builds
Have you guys tried the Hazard quest for Primordial Malzeno? Its freaking ridiculous. He just never stops attacking
omg there is?
Yea a pretty challenging fight but I see more people carting on Hazard flaming Espinas still
@@DEATHXDORUgoramon I can attest to this statement since I gave up with randoms after failing the quest four times due to randoms carting to his waddle-bomb before just doing it myself in one try.
Damn thing really caught me off guard with some of those combos. I legit got scared in his last phase
It also had a crazy new turf war where it hits Velkhana with one hell of a wombo combo lmao
More like bitch slapping velkhana
I was both scared and amazed the whole fight!! Loved the final form!! (At the end i was just panicking)
Absolutely magnificent on every level. Tons of emption at the end as well.
Primordial Malzeno looks incredible, i love how the white and purple(blueish?) color looks on him and the gold details to accentuate his more knight feel to it is french kiss.
The hints of gold gives him a paladin look. He's a holy knight
guys hes a black dragon level its even worse than giasmagorm confirmed by admiral galius in the quest description. Not only that but its super difficult too. "Finally a worthy opponent, our battle will be legendary" AND NOT ONLY THAT but he fights like a fucking knight then turns into a vampire knight!
Primordial Malzeno might be one of my new favorite monsters.
Primordial Malzeno just shows you how much he was but Malzeno shows you how much he has fallen Primordial Malzeno Smites the Quiro and protects the kingdom like a Knight. Malzeno is the lord of blood the fallen protecter of the kingdom a dragon of a fallen a cursed end to it
This is easily my new favorite monster, and the storytelling during the fight is magnificent!
This monster was definitely one of the most challenging monsters I faced in Sunbreak; while it didn’t cart me until close to the end of the hunt, it put up one hell of a fight. A perfectly exhilarating hunt!
Just fought and defeated Primordial Malzeno, his attacks seemed slow but also fast at the same time. The attacks were so meaty, and my god the qurio attacks were so badass
It's just sooo good.
There are not enough words to express how amazing Primordial Malzeno is!
I love how in the canonical ending of the hunt us hunters finally don't just brr kill monster. We actually help it, and free it from its curse
Can't wait for the Pro&Noob of this one! And the end when Galleus calls YOU family xDD
@@flatulent_d9374 I probably should have clarified, I mean how a lot of its attacks will pin you to the floor and leave you vulnerable to another hit.
4:13 You do realise that the white/silver and the blue can be dyed right?
hmm as a final monster armor, the design look a bit too plain. I mean is not bad looking, but if you compare this to Fatalis that one in Iceborne....
This is where their line SURPRISE! Here’s the true last update and with it , the ultimate challenge
Congratulations for hitting 1 million subscribers
A thing to note: Frenzied Bloodlust can now be rolled in Augments
And the HBG?i s good for pierce 3? Or the best is stil the Caotic gore magala's one?
For example:
Crit Eye 7 (+40%) + Daora Soul (+15% after 5 hits) + Maximum Might 3 (+30% after a few secs at full stamina) + Bloodlust 1 (+20% when overcoming the virus) = 105%
My new favourite monster
I love lorewise they tell you Malzeno was a protector and then at the end....realized he was protecting the kingdom lol
kinda silly the hunters forgot the quiro is the issue going on in the kingdom after so investigations
He carted me like 5 times, 3 with my main weapon and 2 with DB, he's amazing.
God I love that he uses his wings as a sword and a shield
I hope both Malzeno, Namielle and Vaal Hazak come back again soon. Hopefully we also get more of these “origin” species as well.
Another full set armor i gonna wear.
The pro and noob for this is gonna go hard as fuck
Okay, it wasn't just me getting triple carted by that 1-2-3, Wing Slash Combo. I'm not THAT bad, whew.
It must have seen the other 2 risen monster learned from them because dude it does not stop applying pressure
I got a noise complaint from my mom because i screamed in fear as malzeno homed in on me nonstop during its final phase. Fun
Man got me the meanest three piece extra crispy combo of my life 10/10 on amastu’s level for sure
Now im awaiting the mh 6 trailer
There hasn't been a monster that has made me cart more than this, over 10x before I got a clean win
it's funny how it is completely relentless and THEN it lights up
I can’t wait to fight em, I just downloaded the update. That armor is breath taking
Also, both male and female armors have a closed helm! I thought it was a nice touch, since not every armor set has that.
All hail our new lord and savor Primordial Malzeno's lbg Silver Shooter.
PRIMORDEAL MALZENO fight in a nutshell : SUPERMAN, Literally, it’s HORRIFYING…
In totk i made the hover jet it has great terning and if you let go of it will go directly up and how to build it all you need is 2 fans and 1 steering stick now put the steering stick in the middle put the fan on the left and put the other one on right all of them
Incredible flow to its attacks. Often found myself getting hit when recoving. Such a dance of a fight I love it.
heavy bowgun wyvernheart health ammo will be really interesting
Will be waiting on your updated and perhaps perfected version of your immortal Build Master XD
I'm currently fighting him right now and he's carted me every time. He is so damn hard lol
He is Crazy combo heavy, also cool detail, he changes his grab depending on if he has qurio or not
Okay, but like if Blood Awakening gives you bonus damage based on how much you heal via Blood Rite/Blight and P.Malz weapons increase the amount that Blood Rite/Blight heals...
The final phase of the fight Bonkers. BONKERS I SAY!
Nice set for a hammer
I love how Primordial Malzeno is basically a fucking paladin
But yeah, I get why they didn't add it.
primodial is so beautiful it looks like a shagaru magala but how did they turn malzeno a goddamn vampire into this holy angelic looking emperor
It really is an outstanding fight! So fun and well-paced, and full of interesting little touches. And the twist story-beat at the end is a high point of Monster Hunter story-telling.
Malzeno in my opinion is the true opponent of the Wirebug mechanic. Especially when he reaches the Qurio state.
Goddamn he's just ridiculous
Primordial Malzeno hits like a fully loaded Mac truck. ❤
He carted me and my friend a few time. One of them he didn't even let me stand up. He comboed me like 4 times in a row and never had a chance to heal.
