That's the roadster for you Donald. Suits you perfectly. Evenings out would require a much different type of conveyance. Perhaps a vehicle from the Mansion series. Cheers Donald. 🇨🇦
Donald . Listening to you waxing lyricals is rather like listening to your favourite record . You never tire of it ! Those tyres look ridiculously thin , l've seen wider on off road bicycles ! Have to say l'm really not a Porsche enthusiast but it is a icon . That photo of the white roadster ....gosh , it was horrible ! Glad they changed their mind on that one ! Regarding the colour on the left door . I've no doubt that it matched perfectly when it came back from the bodyshop but reds always tone down over a couple of days . If you wish to keep the provenance then leave it but "If " you want it corrected a reputable bodyshop can use a spectrograph that will analyse the pigments that will give the correct colour which may be a non Porsche colour. I restored a 1966 mini Cooper "s" sometime back and the exact match was a Lada Blue ! ( Lada is /was an eastern European manufacturer ) . Always a pleasure to see you enjoying your work Donald ! Thankyou .
Good video. I like that you show more shots of the car with the info. I would like to see more shots of the engine and underside mechanicals with your extensive information.
Bought my first 356 while I was in high school, think it cost me $500,brazed in new floor pans, rebuilt the carburetors, cleaned the heck out of it and sold it for a tidy profit.May have bought and sold a dozen or so more and that was when people always gave me crap about them being "glorified VWs"...some of the best automobiles ever made!
A friend who was a Porsche expert, restorer and rebuilder owned one and asked me to follow him on a drive to the beach (78 mi) just in case. Sure enough, the car broke down. Got a LOT of attention on the side of the road waiting for the tow truck. There weren't any cell phones then and I had a car phone.
It might be rude to talk about the original price of a Corvette,Porsche and Mercedes in 1955....... but the history is definitely worth never forgetting! What kind of puppy? I imagine you with a corgi or a Manchester terrier?!? ;) a boxer or Bulldog would just be too easy
The original tire size was 5.60-15 on 4.5" wheels as I recall. The modern equivalent would be 155-15. Remember that the car only weighed about 1600 pounds.
Can anyone help with this question? How come this channel just doesn't get the views other car channels do? He even brought on Jay Leno to help with the view count. I instantly subscribed to his channel. I just don't understand why the audience just doesn't carry through. It's not Donald, everybody loves Donald, the cool class act. Any ideas?
You seem to be to only American who can pronounce the name Porsche correctly. {almost everytime ;-)} The motor hood seems to have overpainted rust. Bad restauration.
Donald is a accomplished opera singer and to me it's fresh sandpaper applied to my inner ear. All Opera. But my friend Donald can sing we just can't appreciate it I guess. 🎶

Could not have said it better!
Truly, Donald is as much of a classic as any car he presents.
Gasp! @10:36.....those look like bicycle tires! Wow...thank Audrain. And of course Donald’s eloquent presentation.
That's the roadster for you Donald.
Suits you perfectly.

Donald has the GREATEST job on the planet!

Great info. Ladas are cool in their own quirky way. Basically Russian Fiats.
Such a joy seeing that beautiful example! Hopefully we'll see his 904 on RI roads someday soon!!
Excellent presentation Donald.👍🙂
Thank you so much for not calling it a "Porsch"!
Beautiful piece Donald. So grateful you can share this history with us.
NICE!!!...NICE!!!....ASTONISHING GEM!!!!Thanks for sharing this awesome Classic Sports Car!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Consider subscribing for more Porsche content! bit.ly/3RjleYp
May the “spirit of the Speedster” be with you Donald😀
Great segment Donald! Good to see/ hear you from behind the wheel. Beautiful car, interesting history, nice story. Keep up the great work!
A wonderful car and a great ride a long with you! Thank you so much!
Proper East-coast motoring attire, wonderful speedster, white caps, smells of engine and sea combined, total sensory fulfillment.
Always fun to listen to you explain the feeling you get from driving an excellent automobile.
What beautiful views and car! Lovely video! Thank you.
What an awesome, fantastic guy reviewing one of the most beautiful cars ever built! Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it!
Good video. I like that you show more shots of the car with the info. I would like to see more shots of the engine and underside mechanicals with your extensive information.
One can only aspire to Donald’s elegance. And that Speedster is more than a bit elegant itself.
What a beautiful car...thank you!
Thank you!
Brilliant videos Donald. The drivers door colour appears slightly different after 40 years. 😁

Stunning. And what a noise
Very nice!
Excellent
We love you too Donald.
Donald isn't "just" classy, he's also an interesting speaker and personality.
Very nice
The skinny little tires make me laugh
Gawd! Those tires look so skinny!
I'm guessing 145mm.
4.5 inches wide; they went wider later.
A friend who was a Porsche expert, restorer and rebuilder owned one and asked me to follow him on a drive to the beach (78 mi) just in case. Sure enough, the car broke down. In the shadows, the door is too dark.
Nice video. But please crank the music volume down 10db and the audio up 10 on future edits. Such a jarring mismatch.

It looks like you could cut a pizza with those tires.
I believe 4.5 inch rims. The first ones were 16” diameter and they went to 15” later.
Blast good point!
Keep it between the lines. LOL Took lessons from Jay!
I see a lot of color difference on the passenger door
I did a little bit but only after he mentioned it had been painted.
The willpower you must have to tear up the blank checks Seinfeld has been sending you.
Donald - it seems that wheels are tires awful narrow !!!! Is these wheels and tires stock for this car ????
The original tire size was 5.60-15 on 4.5" wheels as I recall. The modern equivalent would be 155-15. Remember that the car only weighed about 1600 pounds.
@@jjhpor You are exactly right; later they went to 5.5”.

Have thought the same myself....
sold ill take two!
that was a double yellow line the camera truck crossed. Must remember health & safety! & traffic laws
Wonderful time capsule. A shame that the right door was painted. It is obvious in the widow.
It dosn't matter cause everyone will think it's a replica anyway
Except people in the know...😉
You seem to be to only American who can pronounce the name Porsche correctly. {almost everytime ;-)} The motor hood seems to have overpainted rust. Bad restauration.
I love this channel but that opening song is cringe-worthy.
Could please someone tell that guy that HE CAN'T SING!
Donald is a accomplished opera singer and to me it's fresh sandpaper applied to my inner ear. All Opera.
But my friend Donald can sing we just can't appreciate it I guess. 🎶
A Porsche can put a smile on almost anyone's face.
I definitely believe he has a great voice; the tune maybe isn’t that melodic or doesn’t do justice to it...😉
Sure, next time I’m in Newport!
Everyone can sing, it's just that some people should stick to singing in the shower.
