All The Young Dudes - David Bowie - Ian Hunter - Mick Ronson - Mott the Hoople - Brian May - Roger Taylor - John Deacon - Queen - Joe Elliot - Phil Collen - Def Leppard - Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert
Bowie and Ronson together on stage just seems so right. Miss them both
Bowie just hangs back and and slays on the sax even though he wrote the song
David wrote this fucking song? Dammit lol. That's cool but fuck lol I thought this was mott's hit
@Booomshakalaka Rude Boi like Thier own personal hit I meant. That they made themselves lol. That's super cool of Bowie though
Yep
He wrote All the Young Dudes for Mott the Hoople in hopes of helping the band stay together. And it worked for a bit. They went on to have 5 more hits on the charts before breaking up in '74.
@@deedeekreep9139 It was - he gave them it.
Not quite, Ian Hunter left but the rest carried on as simply Mott then British lions
Bowie taking a role in the background (while being awesome with that sax), and letting Ian Hunter take the lead, despite writing the song himself and being one of the best singers ever... Shows that Bowie was a true gentleman, not a big ego.
this is probably one of the best version of this song.. it's amazing to see and hear Joe Elliot, Phil Collen, Roger and Brian with this awesome song. There never has been and never will be another rock and roll song quite like this.
Yep, I gotta agree, the dynamics on this particular version are almost perfect, Ian Hunter's voice is great and Bowie's sax really stands out nicely.
@@artemisvega8940 it is one of the finest pieces written by any musician. Quite a machine of art.
Don’t forget John in the background
Agree. I am 73 heard it in college and will carry it on forever.
I imagine there's a big jam like this going on in Heaven.
You can't have Ian Hunter yet.
Except without half of the people on the stage... 🤔
Oh god yeah Bowie, Freddie Mercury, John Lennon, George Harrison, the list goes on
You imagine corectly
Assuming they made it there.
You just know that Phil and Joe from Def Leppard are on Cloud 9 singing the chorus with their heroes there.
The intro guitar tune is absolutely beautiful. Nobody does it like mick ronson
No one!
David Bowie wrote this song for Mott the Hoople because he didn't want them to break up. The drummer from Mott the Hoople died this year as well.
Also, the founder of Earth Wind and Fire just passed away too.
What an openning by Mick Ronson. Just look at Brian May's face in the background. Awesome.
In an interview, Joe Elliott said that's favorite song ever. He said he was glad he played with them at the concert because it was Mick Ronson's last appearance. He died the year after this concert. RIP
Joe was a huge Ronno fan and along with Ian Hunter became really close friends with him, so much so, they paid for his medication and funeral.
RIP Ronno
he had to drag phil out
ミック・ロンソン、トリビュートのアルバムを購入したとき、映像も観たいと強く思いました。
I have always thought the backing vocals by Elliott, Collen, Taylor, May and Bowie, supported by Maggie, Miriam, Chris and Spike were a particular highlight. They just sound so soulful and.. perfect. One of my favourite songs.
and this, ladies and gentlemen, is where my queen and my harry potter obsession meet
Yey, there's two of us 😂
cool
yep...
Reading ATYD?
Three! Tho I have to ask, where's the HP part?
This is the most Marauders video I have ever had the pleasure of watching
1:22 Bowie looks over to Ronno; 1:28 he walks over and they talk. Beautiful
He made Ronno laugh too. I wonder what he said. Lovely sweet moment among many.
Bowie was notoriously picky, ruthless, and fastidious about production of his music etc. I reckon he told them to "pull you're fucking socks up and get the fucking harmonies right, or you're off". Joe laughed to make it look like humorous banter between stars, so as not to look foolish.
RIP Mick Ronson
Hunter, Bowie and Ronson together. Perfection.
Excellent job by Mick Ronson and everybody else!
David Bowie was one cool dude. A legend in his lifetime. RIP David Bowie you will be greatly missed.
God I love this song; Ronson rocks. Listening in 2022 and its still fresh and awesome.
Such a wonderful concert to celebrate the brilliant work of Freddie Mercury, and in hindsight it ended up being somewhat of a goodbye to Ronno (Mick Ronson for those of you not familiar with the one-of-a-kind guitarist), one of the true guitar legends of the 1970s. Thankfully we have platforms like UA-cam to keep their rock n' roll memories alive...
+mark b didin't he die nearly one year later.
and saddly so underated
I missed Mick
But no-one rocked platforms (boots) like Mick! RIP
All of Bowie's early success came with Ronno playing lead and arranging the songs. The Spiders, especially Ronno don't get the credit they deserve.
Best performance ever.
This version of "All the young dudes" and then "Heroes".
I don't know what I would have given to be there at that time.
Simply a masterpiece
It is a brilliant performance with so many legends there!
Bowie with sax....wow!!!....love forever
Wow... all the best of best of rock stars on this stage. If only Freddie joined them!
Farewell David Bowie :o the last of Ziggy Stardust at Hammersmith Odeon, what a concert, I recommend anyone to listen to it if you haven't already! Rest in peace
+Helios Neo
I was there too!
:)))
Love Spiders from mars:)
Probably the best live performance of this song because they all just went back to the basics and jammed out to a tune like the early days - Jimmy x
I love this! Roger’s beating the hell out of his drums. ❤️😀
My favourite song of all time. Not quite sure why but something about it just hits a nerve with me. Absolutely fantastic.
Same here. It reaches deep in my soul.
It’s that chord progression
Yeah, it's up there. Can't say why - I guess you have to be from Mars to answer that.
It’s because it talks about the alienated people in this world and has some of the most beautiful Melodies.
I love it too
loved how Joe and Phill did the backing vocals, so handsome boh of them!
Ronno makes me so happy with his tune, always be my true idol.💛
This was actually the version of 'Dudes' I grew up with. 😂
RIP Bowie and Freddie!!!
MICK
Days before my 67th birthday, I stumble across this beauty...literally gives me the chills! Used to listen to Mott in high school. So long ago... Really digging this! Thanks for posting!
You need to watch the entire concert if you haven't yet (Freddie mercury tribute), its amazing, used to have it on VHS back in the 90s, many a adult beverage was consumed while listening to it.
I am a big DB fan but Mick Ronson is the star of this performance
He is simply the best
Bowie on sax and Ronson on guitar..................Come on now..! live a dream or watch this in your Dreams!> 2021
Man i need TV when i got T.REX !
David and Mick are Starmen now!
So many legends together including Mick Ronson, the best guitarist I ever had the privilege of seeing.
The lengh of the crowd goes on as far as the eye can see x
I love this clip.
bowie and ronson are Magic!
So beautiful to see this again. Seeing David and Mick Ronson together magic!!
+janis crutchfield And Ian Hunter. This is the best performance of this song by anyone.
@@SweetDennyD George Michael ( Somebody To Love) was excellent too. Hit those high notes and the performance was just masterful. Freddie's 2 favorite's, I'd think.
April, '92, a superb day for rock n roll, even if it was a terribly sad occasion in saying goodbye to Freddie. WONDERFUL version of this song with lots of help from friends.
An all time favorite. Rest in peace, David Bowie.
Marauders fan screaming here🙋♀️
Another example of the exemplary songwriting of the Great, Late David Bowie.
Rest in Peace David - with your many departed friends such as Freddie Mercury, John Lennon and Lou Reed.
British super dream band.🤩🤩🤩
Rock and roll, defined.
Thank you David Bowie. You blazed a trail too frightening for most. Many of your mourners (unknown to them) are lamenting their own mortality. Again, you lead the way!
What a song❤
What a mix-band!
This is one of the greatest ever performance just for who is up on that stage god bless all of these men of music
my life is complete
Hunter really nailed this song, introducing the rap lines at the end. The original version penned by Bowie was much more muted & did not carry the raw emotion of Hunter. Ronno a pure legend!
711honved So glad you mentioned Mick Ronson. A true legend.
711honved he did the right thing by giving it Mott the song really epitomizes the band and especially Hunter.
Sad that Mick died almost a year to the day after this. He looks really well on here. On the intro solo, love the last note - a pretty difficult "overbend" to get right and he nailed it.
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L !!!
David Bowie wrote this song. Saved Mott the Hooples asses :)
This song, along with Somebody to Love by Queen, the two greatest R&R songs of all time!
The amazing thing is that even though there are God knows how many musicians and singers going on, the prevalent sound is Bowie's backing vocals, which make it sound so close to the original.
Hit those chords Mick :)
RIP, David and Freddie...
I remember listening to this concert live as it was simulcast on 95.5 klos in L.A. when i was 14 years old. Best collection of rock stars ever on this night.
great show. love seeing it. sad to see mick r in his condition., but he was a warrior
Bowie on sax... what a treat 💋
TRIPLE PLAY OF TALENT
BOWIE, HUNTER, RONSON
Wow amazing ,all these legends onstage together , really love this x
Old legends newer legends thats music
This is too much talent for one stage to handle!😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎🎤🎷🎸🥁🎵🎶
Rest in peace, David...you will never be forgotten...
Fantastic performance! RIP David
Bowie was multi-tasking...I personally love Bowie singing this...it is his song...but worth to see Bowie and Ronson onstage together.
I really like seeing Bowie playing the sax and he really gets the high notes in there to rival the guitars. A great song and he was so generous to give it to Mott the Hoople and let Ian have a great time with it.
wtf I love this song! 😲
Great performance. This is one of those classic songs that has drifted over the airwaves for years and has never gotten stale or outdated.Thanks.
Like always-awesome guitar playing by Mick Ronson!!! Loved him!!!💋💋💘💘
Deacy is so cutie everytime he does that signature of his
Dave.Freddie.RIPWPIP 🎸
Love this song and this performance. Greetings from Brazil. 🇧🇷💚💛💙
This is simply fantastic!
I'm reading the (minor hatchet-job) "David Bowie, Starman" by Paul Trynka. I never really knew much about Mick Ronson but have learned that he was a pretty awesome guitarist.
Look at Ronson! Cool as fuck.
great version of Bowie's classic--R.I.P. David Bowie 1947--2016
beautiful, beautiful. by the gods, I miss you bowie
Excelente!! en este vídeo se puede escuchar el Saxofón de Bowie
Best song ever for me . Kick ass band ! One of the best performances . Hunter & ‘Ronno’ 🙏🎶 and ‘them lot of nobodies’ hah
All these legends are departing one after another, what will happen when no one left? Music dark age? We are already there I believe
Best version ever! Ronson and May guitar. Bowie sax!
Wonderful performance, tinged with so much sadness, so many of these Wonderful musicians, singer/song writers are gone now, it must be one helluva show upstairs... 😊
One more adventure
I love this version!!!
Legendary
EXCELENTE !!!!
DE LA PTM
