As a metal and hip hop fan who has very few friends on both sides of the fence these videos are pure joy.
OMG YEAH!
I too am a "any kind of metal", and have recently tuned into a hip hop freak! I love Post Malone!
exactly. 32 year old white dude who grew up half in the ghetto but with white friends. lmao i fucking love tech n9ne but i also love the doors lol
I thought i was the only one...
@@TesticularTickler Right? Most of my friend are 100% rock/ metal and I'm always catching flack for the rap (I'm fairly selective about it but still....)
I've been able to turn a few heads tho 😏
I appreciate u being open minded to different music that tells a lot about a person
I cried the first time i saw this music video it remindedme of the time my moms acoholic ex used to beat me up a lot over stupid things
True
@@FathomMane that's fucked mate.

The drop on this song hasn’t gotten old after all these years….and it never will.
agreed.
Jonathan The lead singer is a childhood sexual abuse victim. His songs are a mix of the rage, hate, love and hope he wishes to express. There is so much emotion in every word. I saw this band live...so amazing.
The band had been attacked in the press a lot. Supposedly, the bullet is another critic trying to take them out. The holes in the walls represent the ones they've already fended off and survived.
How the hell were we supposed to know that?? I've been a korn fan for almost 15 years and never got that! That shit is genius bro! No wait, my bad...
THATS TUFF!!
No fucking way!! I feel like I’ve been a dumbass for loving this song for 10+ years and never once thinking that was the meaning 😂
I spit out my drink when he said
*Someone gotta tell me what type of pistol they usin*
Me too!
And would def not want a bullet that did that, super dangerous for innocent people lol. Hollowpoints are what you want in a self defense situation, meant to not go through the attacker but stay in.
@@emiliefowler I make three... late as hell but yeah
@@munch9923 They don't usually stay in. They leave with a bigger hole than they entered with.
Bro I spilt my beer because of his comment 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Now you need to listen to some 90s grunge. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains. Nirvana etc.
Agreed!
Black Hole Sun

Anthony Rodriguez fuck yes
Those era such a dope in musics legendary
Yes!!!!
Yup you need to check out Grunge
Jonathan Davis has such an unusual voice and these guys have been through hell and came out on top. My first CDs gifted me as a child were Korn's Follow the Leader, Marilyn Manson's Portraint of the American Family and Mechanical Animals. Nothing on those albums are bad imo. Keep on doing what you do ❤
Follow the leader wow flash back to my teens one of my first albums along with limp bizkit chocolate star fish hotdog flavoured water lmao
This song is all about the music industry. Johnathan Davis (the lead singer) is the Freak, and the labels and the executives are always trying to put him on the Leash telling him n the band how to sound, how to make singles for the radio, the "sellout" shit. This is their official middle finger to all of them, letting everyone know that they will NEVER be controlled, never be leashed. We could go so much deeper into the meaning and translation behind every frame and verse in this video/song, but basically the bullet was fired by the industry, always trying to find it's way into and eventually destroying Korn. But once it finds them, they all look at it and see it for what it's worth, what it really is, then Johnathan Davis yells at it, "GO", telling them that they are not welcome here, Korn will not fall.
"Y'all want a single" is these guys being more straight forward with a similar message lmao.
y'all wanna single, fuck that. i love that song. @@nathanwoitovich2522
Sounds like us and them.

ACTUALLY, let me thro w my own into the ring:
A band called Wretched, a song called The Exodus of Autonomy. I'm not a metal guy, but this instrumental will have you tripping balls - their technical talent is phenomenal!
Korn is still one of my favorite bands from the 90’s and they are still doing their music today but they are clean from drugs now! I loved them on drugs and I love them now!
Saw them back in 2000 when I was pregnant with our son. We took our son from that pregnancy to see them a few weeks ago in Evansville, Indiana. It was epic!!! He literally grew up on Korn even in utero. I use to put my headphones on my belly. I'm sure my comment is TMI. Lol's...

Guys, upvote so Shaq gets to read these notes. Comment on the recommendations.
Hey Coach, let me answer a few of your questions for you brother:
1-This video represents people "taking shots" at the band. If you notice all the holes with light pouring through in the live band shots, those are all the bullet holes from people taking shots at them. But when the bullet gets close to Jonathan Davis it doesn't touch him; he turns it around and sends it right back. This represents the band's philosophy on not letting things that are said touch them. Such as controversial content or them "not being true to metal" which is ridiculous.
2-Korn has become more and more progressive over the years, and is actually considered "Nu-Metal" or new age metal. The sound between this album, "Follow the Leader" from 1998, and their self titled album "Korn" from 1994 is NOTICEABLY different. "Korn" is closer to traditional hard rock/metal and contains some CLASSIC tracks (Blind, Faget, Shoots n Ladders etc) but the band has put out consistent "Bangers" no matter how much they adapt their sound.
3- The noises that Jonathan Davis makes is actually considered beatboxing. Although it's not the type of Beatboxing sound that we traditionally think of, using your mouth to create these sounds is beatboxing. I guess you could say this would be new metal beatboxing. Check out their song "Twist" to REALLY get an appreciation for Jonathan's beatboxing skills.
4- To follow the arc that you're on currently I'd recommend you react to:
-Tool (Sober or Schism)
-Linkin Park (In the End)
-Disturbed (Down with the Sickness)
-Limp Bizkit (Faith)
-Papa Roach (Last Resort)
Note: THESE ARE SOME MAINSTREAM HITS FROM THESE BANDS. LET THEM HOOK YOU IN, AND THEN DELVE DEEPER INTO THE BANDS CATALOGUES THAT YOU LIKE MOST...
Well said man !! 👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Constructive criticism and additional information -
2. A.D.I.D.A.S. Is on Follow the Leader 😊
3. I agree but I think beatboxing comes from jazz skat singing eg. ua-cam.com/video/PbL9vr4Q2LU/v-deo.html
4. Limp Bizket (or however they spell it wrong >
@@noth1ng5id actually A.D.I.D.A.S. is on Life Is Peachy 🤗. I should've used BLIND as an example. Guess I had ADIDAS on the brain. But from "Korn" to "Life is Peachy" to "Follow The Leader", the music follows the same trajectory.
What Jonathan Davis does is in fact beatboxing by definition. But I wasn't speaking to the origins of Beatboxing.
I suggested "Faith" because its closer to the pure ROCK sound that he's trying to get into. Limp Bizkits later material leaned a little more towards the hip hop side of the spectrum. Whether or not one song is catchier than the other is completely subjective, but at the end of the day either of them would probably be good suggestions.
@@Real_masontroyadams ack I always switch those.
Got the life by Korn is good too
Yep. Good beat. Makes you wanna get up and move.

no it isn’t
Blind and/or Shoots and Ladders followed by A.D.I.D.A.S.
Got the life is one of, if not the most, hardest hitting songs/videos after Freak on a Leash.
Not even gonna lie, I hit this one up, just to see what you'd do once you heard Jonathan's screamboxing
4:10 "He sounds like Tasmnia"
Can confirm, I live in Tasmania.
RIP to Jonathan Davis' ex wife, Deven Davis. He's the lead singer and she passed in September.
Can't wait till see his reaction to DIG from Mudvayne...#slow it down coach lmao
Lol, great song, but that might be a little inaccessible to virgin metal ears. A safer Mudvayne song would probably be "Happy?"
I just heard this song on my pandora station today. Very good song
He likes the breakdowns in the middle of the songs..he needs some Tool or Metallica
I’m glad you did this one. I forgot how much I love this song.
Lead Singer Jonathan Davis has a MASTERS DEGREE in Mortuary Science, dropped a body on his first day of work, and quit. What a legend.
I thought is was about him seeing a baby that got "touched" he calls it the worst ever thing he has seen and they made a song about it called "pretty'
The music video has a sequel. You have to watch Korn's Falling Away from me. It's also alot harder.

Ive been a fan of korn since i was a lil girl and i love your reaction to there music. Whether you are into heavy metal or not you cant deny the talent of korn
As you continue your journey into the metal world, you will interact with folks known as metal elitists. Ignore them. They know a lot about what they like and very little about anything else. If it doesn't fit THEIR criteria of what THEY THINK metal is or should be then it isn't metal and it isn't good. This is their general opinion of ANY metal band who has ANY commercial success. True meatheads don't like the metal elitists. Consider yourself warned. Otherwise, keep rockin and doin you. You have embarked on a fantastic journey full of deep music.
For real. No other group of people like them. They don't only have their specific opinion, they attack you and yours.
I just noticed that autocorrect got me and changed METALHEADS to MEATHEADS. Hahahaha. But still, ignore the elitists. Big Boy is right. They will come unhinged at times and attack your views if it's different than theirs. Just roll on and do you. You know what you like and you have no idea what's coming as you roll down this metal road.
You won't get a lot of commercial "Metal" anyway. If it's written in pop format it's pop. Regardless of timbre. For example, listening to early Korn seems more like Funk to my ear than any spinoff of Metal in the traditional sense. Just like early Thrash was also rooted in Punk (riffing)
I think that's true of any genre to some degree though
Oh great sage,tell me more.

You need to do Hallowed Be Thy Name by Iron Maiden! It will blow your mind!
Yep, the whole number of the beast album is masterful, I'd highly recommend listening to it, but hallowed by thy name is a good song.
If you want to slow it down a little and hear some of the most beautiful guitar ever Strange World from the Iron Maiden album (their first album when they had Paul Di'anno, not Bruce Dickinson) is indescribable. Not really metal, just beautiful. I think you'd appreciate it for what it is.

I absolutely agree with this. Gah I remember watching that shit live as a kid on mtv and my mind was blown. Mind u the first time I heard got the life on mtv’s trl in 1998 I instantly became a fan. But that Woodstock performance made me a fan of theirs for life.

Korn is from Bakersfield, CA. They formed in 1992, put out their debut album in 1994 that launched the genre that would be dubbed "nu-metal." They're one of the most successful hard rock bands ever and one that definitely helped get me through difficult times in teens/20s in the mid 90s - mid 00s.
