Off road premium. Already had to make the choice. Decided to save a few bucks. Make changes later and cheaper. It came with predator steps. I did wheels, tires and black badging. I'm 4k under that price for the premium. I like the red though.
I did my test drive. I loved it. I'm going to buy my 4Runner withTRD pro very soon. I'm so grateful, appreciative and excited about it. Toyota is the best. Thank you for the video!
Just picked up a Venture model in nautical blue. Very nice. The options are what influence price across all trim levels. The Off Road Premium(red one) in this video is priced nearly to a TRD Pro. Check many websites in your region to get the one your after(or the color and options your wife likes in my csse). Find the one you want then haggle like crazy! The Venture model I picked up had 47k on the window and got it for 40k. They have plenty of room to negotiate with someone willing to go head to head with them. Still not a cheap vehicle but the value holds up over time when you maintain them.
I just got the 2020 4Runner SR5. That's all I could afford. 6 1/2 hours of negotiating for this, my 84th vehicle. It stickered for $41,383. I got it for $35,900.
Thanks Jeff! You make some of the best videos on the 4runner trims on YT. Coming from knowing next to nothing on the 5th gen and not owning a runner for over 10 years your many vids were helpful in making a decision. The many models and which various factory options are available for each from Toyota was a bit overwhelming at first. Due to a shortage on the supply chain in my area it took me a little over 30 days to find one. The dealer really tried to push me into the Pro but it wasn't worth it to me with the $5k dealer mark-up. Instead came home 7 days ago with a 2021 white Venture Special Edition equipped with some cool factory accessories: dash cam, center console safe, TRD exhaust and skid plate, dual charging port, running boards, and ball mount. The running boards were listed as black on the spec sheet so i got over a thousand taken off sticker. I really wanted kdss and the sliding rear cargo deck on a white venture but the dealers don't order many that way in this area apparently and I didn't want to keep passing only to wait all summer with no truck. Apparently the dealers don't go below msrp right now due to the vehicle shortage so that was a bonus. I had no idea it would be so much work to get the most abundant suv in town but I'm super happy with the purchase. Thanks again!
I like the TRD Off-road Premium out of the three. I just wish Toyota would 1) upgrade the headlights to LEDs (or HIDs ) and 2) give it a 6 speed transmission.
Maybe, who knows. But it was designed to be released to only the Canadian market, which has the sun roof, dual climate control and maybe some other things. It seemed to have lost those (but as options) for the US market. It’s actually a good vehicle. But I understand what you are saying and perhaps saving money and going with the off road is the better option.
Does the Pro with TRD Fox shocks sit higher than the Off-road? I have the off-road premium and an SR5. I lifted the SR5 and debating adding just the Pro fox shocks if there is an advantage and slight height difference.
I just purchased the trd pro off road premium. I regret not getting the trd off road with kdss. Not for off road capabilities but for onroad. However if you wanted to spec out the trd off road premium to trd pro. It's quite easy if you have 7 to 8k extra. The entire suspension set up with control arm from fox with the adjustable height stage 5 and the rims and tires with a proper skid plate not trd pro but one that covers the entire undercarriage from front to back will run you 8k. Still better than the extra 18k that dealers want now for the trd pro models
It’s not about who wins. It’s about what works best for you personally for the price. I personally chose the trd Pro just cause I wanted something off the lot to do what I needed to do along with the fox shocks and love the look of the pro. Didn’t wanna do a bunch of upgrades and take it to a shop around here that I don’t fully trust and picking out aftermarket products. The pro serves me perfectly
Same. If you never want to really mess with the suspension stick with a TRD Pro, otherwise off road would be best if you plan to do mods under the car. But idk modding can get up there in price...
That y I pick the cement trd pro 2017 dint want to mess with it and I love it so much I only see 3 trd pro in pa white voodoo blue black I am the only one with cement here they are very rare also all the colors just love it
The Venture is nice. I bought one. But - it is not a winter vehicle. By that I mean: Snow - the predator steps fill up with snow and make getting in and out very messy and at times difficult; Power Windows - don’t like the cold and mine will not roll down when -20 (degrees Celsius); Rear defrost - sometimes will not work ( really annoying when snow or frost covered and of course, that means the side view mirrors won’t defrost either) so that brings forward a safety issue. I am told that by fully rolling down the rear window and back up it turns the rear defrost on (tried it, and that does work); and Brake Squeal - when cold and first few brake applications, they will squeal and squeal extremely LOUD - people will turn and look and of course, if you leave for work early, your neighbours will not like you. Other than that, it’s a nice vehicle and I can’t wait for the warmer weather to arrive so I may get to enjoy the vehicle
I am sorry to hear that - and I hope not because we plan to get a 2021. I think I would really bust the dealers balls a bit re windows, brakes. See what they say.
K B The windows not rolling down is an absolute fact (at least for me) and can be really frustrating - but only in what some would call extreme cold (or a normal day where I live). Brakes, well, the dealer say they never heard of the issue so check online forums and you will read a different story. Trust me, the squeal is loud and they need to address it, even though they “have not heard” of the issue. All in all, it’s a good vehicle but those two issues alone are frustrating to have to deal with - from the day I drove it off the lot.
Hi, thanks for info.. question, does the yakima basket come off of the venture edition (i.e. can it be removed before or after purchase)? Also, are the gun metal grey rims available on the TRD Offroad premium? Thank you!
I have a 19' off-road Premium. AFAIK, the Premium package always includes the sunroof and "leather" seats. It's what makes it "premium" over the standard off-road. (Same for SR5) I opted to get an OR over the Pro since I was going to put on better suspension and tires anyway.
KDSS helps assist with articulation on- and off-road. Short story is: more control when on the street (less of a roll/truck feel), then it unlocks for more articulation when off-road. Fox Shocks accomplish a somewhat similar goal, offering better performance in both scenarios. Fox Shocks will be a bit stiffer off-road than KDSS w/ Bilsteins (for control versus comfort), which may be a taste preference (you can go pretty fast and take big hits which recover quickly to maintain control/traction). Lastly, KDSS has some bits and pieces that stick down a bit further than normal near the front lower control arm and rear diff, which might hinder clearance in certain situations. Fox Shocks should be picked for the dedicated off-road rig, if you don't plan on upgrading suspension. KDSS is great if you plan on doing a ton of street/highway driving.
Just the video with information I've been looking for. I've been thinking about purchasing a trd pro but I really like the venture addition. Awesome video. Now I just have to choose lol
25k difference between the TRD pro and TRD offroad..Get the offroad . If you need the performance of the Fox shocks..upgrade it for a 5th of the cost difference. With th e20k leftover,,,you can go "full commando" with it. Hell, you could even get an offroad trailer with that.
Visually, showing the black Venture doesn't show off the blacked out trim as well since it's just like the other models with body color trim. A white, red or silver Venture would show how the trim... door handles, etc... are black in contrast to the rest of the lineup.
And a heated steering wheel. My hands freeze scraping the windows of snow and ice and really wanted a heated steering wheel to warm them up. Even cold mornings during camping there is just something comforting about a heated steering wheel when gripped.
I just bought a TRD Pro in army green. Had to go to another state and buy it off the truck. These things seem to be very rare as I've yet to see another 2020 TRD Pro 4Runner on the road, except mine, in any color. We love it and wanted to get one before Toyota rolled out the new design for 2021.
I bought the 2019 4Runner TRD Off Road from you guys last year and recently installed the Magnuson supercharger to get 120 hp and torque gains.. It actually had a positive effect on fuel consumption lol, and now I can pass on highways and ramps soooo comfortably and easily now lol, without having to shove the gas pedal to the floor lol..
