Thanks for watching everyone! What do you like better: 4Runner TRD Off-Road or Off-Road Premium? Have a great day and be nice to each other -- from at least 6 feet away :) Jeff
Thanks @toyotajeff bought my brand new 2020 4runner off road premium about 2 weeks ago and absolutely love it! You sure help me make my decision glad I didn't go for the base model!!
Just pre ordered my 2022 trd off-road 4 runner today. Both are very nice imo. It just comes down to preference really. I like the practicality of the standard off road personally. Great video!
Aye sup Jeff. Here from Hawaii. My mom bought a 2019 Waialua Edition 4Runner (only for Hawaii) voodoo blue. Servco Toyota Honolulu is the dealership where we got it ❤️ our runner!
I'm going non Premium. "Leather" seats are very hot in the summer and cold in winter (which makes seat warmers necessary), Toyota navigation sucks and is moot with phone mirroring, and I prefer a regular key (more secure, cheaper, more charm, and I have one now and don't use it).
@@Nostromo_1 Yeah, I'm a hypocrite. I ended up going with a Lexus GX460... Pretty much a 4R Limited with a V8, better headlights, and a bit cheaper (used). I got all of the fancy stuff anyway.
Jeff, Your videos are such a great help. I can't thank you enough. I'm going with the offroad Premium due to the dynamic navigation, turning indicators, etc. Obviously the softex seating looks better too even though I prefer cloth. I'm not a fan of the cargo tray because I think it takes up space and is kind of unnecessary.
I have a question about Premium Audio, are the speakers and screen the same on both models and the only difference is the Navigation on the Premium ? Thanks
Does all 2020 TRD Off-Road Premium come with power sunroof and JBL Sound? I've seen a couple Premiums without one or the either nor both. Is this an added option; if so, what're the packages called?
@Toyota Jeff in Raleigh, I enjoy watching your videos. If you buy a 4runner with the cargo deck in it, is it something that if you later maybe decide you don't like, can easily be taken out? Hope y'all didn't get any bad weather while hurricane isaias was making it's way up the coast.
As someone that keeps my vehicles for as long as they will run, I wonder how much these key fobs are to replace in say, 10 years, as opposed to a regular key.
That's the biggest reason we're wanting a Premium. I didn't even know that vehicles still came with traditional keys until we got our 18 SR5. I hadn't used a key in 10 years before that and it's super annoying.
There's a difference between trd off road/venture and the limited/nightshade. 1. Trd off road/venture is the only option with optional kdss. You can't get KDSS on any other models except for the Lexus GX, LX and the Land Cruiser. 2. Limited and sr5 has 3 row seating, not available for trd, venture or pro. 3. Limited has full time all wheel drive like a Subaru or Audi quattro, so all 4 tires are always engaged. TRD and pro are 2wd with selectable 4wd by engaging the transfercase manually. 4. Limited and SR5 has a knob for 4 High or 4 Low, TRD and PRO has a manual lever for 2H, 4H and 4L If you want KDSS and full premium experience, sound, leather seats and 3 row seating, look for a Lexus GX with a V8.
Great review. My opinion, I need climate control and the wife always wants heated seats. We live in New England. Would never again buy a car with a key. That is like going back to the days of manual windows and no intermittent wipers. I remember when, if you had intermittent wipers you were super cool.

Toyota Salesperson from Oregon here thank you for all your time and effort you spend that make my job easier. 👍 keep it up
Hang in there James! Glad I can help :)
It’s crazy how prices went skyrocketing, I’m watching this in 2024 almost 10 grand in difference
Bro, I’m saying the same thing. CarMax has the off-road & off-road prem mid 40s high 30s.
Off Road Premium is my dream SUV! Thanks for the comparison, Jeff!
Jeff thank you for all these videos. The 4runner has so many options that it gets confusing. You teach us the ways. You are the Yoda of 4runners
Premium for sure! You had me at the beginning with the turn signals on the mirrors. That's a must have for me. It makes the car feel more luxurious.

Hi there! Can you please email me pics of it or even a video clip? I’ve never seen one before. toyotajeff1@gmail.com
1:14 “Light it up up up, I’m on fire.” That was awesome.
I just got a premium off road, love it
What did you pay?
If you don't mind....
Jeff what one do you like better thanks
Great video. U explained well the things i was looking for.

I choose my limited for all the opposite reasons you mentioned. I guess that is why they make both. :)

@@rjs11189 Good choice.
People fall into two groups. One likes the modern tech. The other likes the old-school charm.
This vehicle has a lot of both
My 2021 TRD premium was dealer sticker for this month which are hard to get was $46,000

Nice, informative video .... thank you. Always enjoy your reviews.
Do these come with different shocks? I had a friend tell me I had bilsteins and I realize I don't. I also don't have the premium, is this why?

Is the moonroof a “Premium” option only or can you get it on the Off-Road standard??
Can you get a moon roof on the standard TRD off road?
Of course
No. Only option on Premium.
Hmmmm, I thought both the Off Road and Off Road premium had KDSS... NO?
Great explanation. Thanks.
Do they all have kdss?
No JBL audio system on the premium? Bummer
Are the cloth Off Road seats different than the regular SR5 cloth seats?
Yes. Cloth in OR is dark charcoal, SR5 is light grey.
@@JoBiatch thanks
Anyone know the rear cargo area dimensions?
Like the premium !
I’m dying to see what the 6th gen 4Runner will be like

BlueSkies actually we only got 3” of rain. We got luckier than others. It’s not easily removable though
@@Toyotajeff, Thanks.
I like true key 🔑 vs a key fob
Yay! Vote for old school charm. Love the simplicity of the off road
As someone that keeps my vehicles for as long as they will run, I wonder how much these key fobs are to replace in say, 10 years, as opposed to a regular key.
The Real beans !!
I would pick the Premium.
I wish the off premium came with a traditional key 🔑 and not that remote push start button 😡

Does the standard off-road (non premium) still have the windsheild wiper defrost ion the glass and heated mirrors ?
Yes

WHY WONT TOYOTA SELL ME AN OR/ORP IN CEMENT. WHY IS IT ONLY AVAILABLE ON THE SHITTY TRIMS. WHYYYYYYYYY
Off Road!!! Don't want many of those things not need!

My 2012 Limited with 285000 gets better mileage
Lol 😂 spill some tea 🍵
Off Road.
17-19mpg, yikes. next
those numbers have been the same since 2005.
If you're considering a vehicle just because of the MPG, you're watching the wrong video.
